  2. Hi guys, I’ve applied for a club permit. When approved I’ll send out the code for members to book tickets. Unfortunately tickets are no longer free but we do get a 50% discount. The Gold Cup is one of the best Oulton Park events, the club has had a presence at the meeting for the last 15 years. Always popular. John. Apologies to Marcus, should have kept you informed. 🫣

  6. Car was built and registered by the factory in 2019. All parts brand new when fitted, over £25000 in invoices. Although it’s a single throttle body it is running an omex 600 ecu so upgrading to throttle bodies would not be a massive issue. Lowered floors, 8”wide rear wheels, wide track front susp, mx5 ltd slip diff. Car has completed 1100 miles and as such is as new. Have just carried out it’s first mot and basic service. 1 previous owner on v5. £18250 I can organise transport anywhere in uk in a fully enclosed transporter. Based just north of Lichfield staffs. 8. Hi. if you want to put the2.0 engine in you will need to keep the 1.8 flywheel as the 2.0 is massive. You also keep the 1.8 water pump as the 2.0 spins the wrong way for your setup. You also keep your 1.8 sump. One of the engine mounts will need changing as it does not fit, I can’t remember which one but apart from that it’s a straight swap.

  9. Another tip (and people love seeing photos anyway!!) If there are parts on the car your not 100% sure about, put some photos up on here - we can usually identify stuff then, unless it's really, really bespoke.

  10. This did cross my mind…though it was actually an “autosolo” today (I say autotest as people have heard of these more, I do a bit of both) so no reverses and I wouldn’t have thought any more lateral load than a track day and I know the previous owner used it on a few. Doesn’t mean oil surge isn’t the issue though…I’ve not idea what the setup is, which was partly why I was happier buying a car with a BARC sticker, a track day number, and an MSA roll bar as hoped this meant any such issues would be long resolved…perhaps not 😬

  11. Really boring, just did an oil change on the MB - the 'A' service that was due. This was the first time I did the service on this car, as it was on a service contract up until last year to keep the HV/battery warranty active. I did replace the 12V main and aux batteries last year though, and a couple of door handle LEDs prior to that so have done a few small jobs on it. I bought one of those oil sucking gadgets to do this one. Not used one before and although it was a bit slower than I expected, it did a great job, absolutely zero mess or hassle. Also, zero crawling about on the floor too, which was nice. That said, I did do an undercarriage inspection so some crawling was involved I guess. It'll be really useful on the other cars as well, particularly the Midlana as some idiot put a solid panel under the engine bay and even without that, the sump plug is very awkward to get at due to the placement of a piece of chassis. Oil & filter swap done, I went to reset the service reminder, another thing I've not done before. The method I got from the internet didn't work on my car, perhaps because it's a hybrid(?) or maybe I just got it wrong, so I had to use the iCarSoft MB2 scanner I bought to go with the car. All seemed well, reset the indicator, told it which oil I'd put in, all good....then the car told me the 'B' service was 365 days overdue..... Messed about with it some, tried to restore then reset again, nope, it wouldn't reset the 'B' service alert. Checked there wasn't suddenly a fault with the dash, nope, no codes, got nowhere so decided to just live with it. I have documentary evidence it was done. Put the car back on the drive, re-checked the oil, final check over and.....service warning now gone away. I guess turning it off & on again did the trick. I took lots of pictures during the procedure and even a short video at one point. Don't really know why though tbh - either my word I did it, and properly, is acceptable...or it isn't. Pictures wouldn't really help. Looking to move this one along this year - time to go full EV for me.

  12. Hi Kingster. It’s currently on R1 carbs, and it’s a black top. Hydraulic as I’m using it for autotest and know from experience a cable operated disc brake set up won’t lock the wheels reliably enough (this was confirmed today). Only my classic mini works for me and that’s on drum brakes which you can get to work ok in this regard. There’s decent clearance to the body so it might already have a wide track. The clearance is what made me think there’s more lock to be had (and it needs it for what I’m using it for!)

  17. In general laptops will connect via HDMI. Firesticks are HDMI too but need WiFi Phones often have screen share capability but it'll depend on if the TV has a screen share that's compatible. Once you've got that working what you can watch depends on a mix of subscriptions, mobile signal or stuff you've downloaded. If going for streaming make sure you've a generous data package on your phone sim.
