  1. Yeah - one piece can keep you dry but you sweat on the inside and then… get wet here’s how I solved the problem 🤣

  2. I'll probably end up with another one piece suit tbh.. Just looking at options. A good tip for those really pithing down days in the saddle is a simple plastic sheet over your lap tucked under your arms it stops a lot of water on the lap.. Not all but a good chunk of it. I have a sheet rolled up size of a packamac then it goes over my lap and down the seat sides.. Only used it a couple of times, last time enroute back from Corgarf on the lecht to home.. Rained.. ALL the way.. Had to stop once and change clothing I got that wet.. Nice

  3. Terry you will never stay dry in any two piece. It always finds a way to seep into your ball sack. You can try my Richa Typhoon if you like - but it’s a one piece .

  4. I've just come across a very handy guide to entering you first speed event, I would highly recommend giving it a watch if you are thinking of starting in the Speed Series, or any other championship, this year!

  5. Car was built and registered by the factory in 2019. All parts brand new when fitted, over £25000 in invoices. Although it’s a single throttle body it is running an omex 600 ecu so upgrading to throttle bodies would not be a massive issue. Lowered floors, 8”wide rear wheels, wide track front susp, mx5 ltd slip diff. Car has completed 1100 miles and as such is as new. Have just carried out it’s first mot and basic service. 1 previous owner on v5. £18250 I can organise transport anywhere in uk in a fully enclosed transporter. Based just north of Lichfield staffs. 7. Hi Dan, I’ve been a regular at LeMans and only missed a couple in the last 25 years going. last year was particularly difficult getting tickets with it being the anniversary and I’ve heard similar for this year for those trying to camp as those areas are getting smaller with development. I leave the ticket buying to my father so I can’t help much with that but for as long as I can remember we have used Just Tickets. https://www.justticketsandmotoring.co.uk/just-tickets-and-motoring-home.php pistonheads forum has a dedicated lemans section and is good for the latest news, they also have a dedicated thread for buying and selling of tickets. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&f=25 the advice on their suggests the ACO have sold out but you might still get lucky phoning around the different ticket agencies.

  8. Even though I'm currently at the minimum weight for my race class I'd still love to reduce it further so that I can replace the lost weight with ballast where it will do me the most good. There are two more plug-and-play places I can think of to pull out weight. One is replacing the stock Honda alternator (5.4 KG) with something much lighter. The problem is finding an alternator that will be happy at such high RPM's. So far I've had no luck there. The other place I can remove real weight is with a carbon nose, engine cover, and scuttle. It looks like I could drop about 9kg there but the cost is very high. The parts themselves are not cheap and then the crating and shipping from Germany to the western USA nearly doubles the cost. If I were to spend the money on the carbon bodywork that would allow me to reduce the overall weight by 9kg and then I would add it back with ballast on the far outside of the passenger floor. So in effect the money would be spent on shifting the weight to the passenger side and not actually reducing the weight. It's hard to know how much that would change the corner-weighting and if in the end it would be worth the money. That said...if I suddenly have some long lost uncle die and leave me a pile of money I'll buy the carbon....it can't hurt! dave

  9. It had 3! Small stones kicked up and blocked them. But your bum does that too, so you still end up sitting in a bucket. 😁 Anyway - apologies for the thread drift @tex hope someone comes up with an actual recommendation for you 👍

  11. @Kit Car Electronics sorry for the delay but he hasn't managed to find anywhere to paint it for him yet (one place quoted £400!) and now work & time pressures look like forcing him into buying a new one. He lives 2hrs from me and doesn't have a garage either. I'll get back to you if he does want it but I now think it's unlikely...
