  3. Happy New Year everyone. Finally the sun comes outand then I moan that it spoils my photo's, so if anyone has better ones please add them. Here we are at Carsington on our joint WSCC and Burton Car Club meet. I don't think we invited the MX5 club but we came in ours and Richard and Casey came in theirs. Casey's son has a turbo'd Mk1 MX5 which needs to join us at some point pleeeeeease. Our Westfield had sprung a leak on the thermostat housing, a new gasket is due to arrive on Wednesday, it has been fixed with silicon gasket sealer last night although it has not been test driven. We went for breakfast at Carsington quickly before the crowds arrived, there was a long queue as we left the restaurant. Back in the car park more cars had arrived from the Burton Car Club Next we went to Quacker's for the obvious reason, cake! it's rude to start a diet on the very first day of the year! That sunshine is at it again, spoiling my photo's The Cake Meister was in residence and up to his usual tricks by getting the corner piece๐Ÿ˜‹ Not sharing Glynn's minty rocky road ABC here, just to taunt @aeg Back to cars, it is a car club afterall not a cake club, here are the proper cars at Quackers And over in the naughty corner are the lesser cars Jake leaving Quackers car park Thank you to everyone for coming out, hope to see you on Saturday next weekend.

  5. Finally got to the problem of my intermittent brake light switch, one of the wires to the brake pressure switch had corroded / gone black inside so was low on voltage, brake lights worked when side lights were on but not when they were off. Remade the connectors which were already short so it was a pig to do in situ but finally got it done. Now have less chance of another Westfield crashing into the back of me on a blat. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Thanks Ian for the direction even though it was on the brake pressure switch side. It would be an improvement to fit a microswitch on the the brake pedal, spring project.

  9. Booked club package last night. Curley if you havenโ€™t found out by now there is information on the Silverstone Festival website explaining ticket options. If you have a Westy and want to bring it the club display package effectively gives you 2 tickets for the price of 1. Great value weekend. Last year my tent camping pitch cost ยฃ59 at Woodlands, but there is no info on Woodlands camping yet. Happy new year everyone!

  12. I have just fitted some of the mesh from B&Q to my car. They only had the silver but a few coats of black spray and hey presto ๐Ÿ‘

  13. Just out of interest, B&Q sell a whole range of mesh sheets, different patterns and mesh sizes, also IIRC they do black, silver and gold I think. At least you could see them in the flesh before deciding on the style you want. No risk of damage in the post either.

  14. Sorry, didn't make it! Got within 15 minutes, but after wading through many flooded roads, the last big flooded bit - exhaust pipe underwater! I think I may have got a short, long story short, within less than a mile of emerging from the flood, I coasted to a halt with a melted fuel pump relay! Swapped the VTEC relay in, as it was right there, to get home! Hope you had a great morning - other than all the standing water and debris on the roads, the weather was lovely, chill, but lovely!!
