  3. @Stuart, I would be looking for a replacement casting, possibly a second hand one. Glue is not going to last here!

  5. I picked up a set of JK Composites seats from Toybox to replace my Westfield Race Seats. Great condition but they had green leather pads, which didn’t go very well with my orange car. I bought a black leather dye kit from The Scratch Doctor and I am really pleased with the results.

  7. I'm with you on the simple pleasure of capturing those moments, this was my mini from a couple of years ago (its at 157k now!) and yes the thought was briefly there to get the speed to match 🤔

  8. Along with the car I have a huge amount of history with it. It was ordered in 1990 built and then registered in 1992. It lived in Sussex originally and as they were closer a lot of the parts were bought from The Westfield Centre who were then a Westfield dealer. Interestingly I have 3 lots of receipts for engines. The original was from RJD, the others were for rebuilds. I will have to look into what engine is currently in the car as there is a spare block and engine parts which may be the original. I also have a collection of club magazines from 1990 through to 1998. The original owner is sadly no longer around but his son who sold me the car said he was an active Sussex area member at the time. I haven't seen his name or picture of the car in any of the magazines but the son remembers the then area organiser Andy Smith. I think the car was used on a few track events (which may explain the engines) and I found an old Valence Hillclimb in the boot so I am looking forward to finding out how well it goes when I get it running.

  9. I finally managed to pick the car up ! After agreeing to buy it I had make space, with that done I just needed to fix my trailer, then I caught some sort of flu and have only just been well enough to do anything. Now it's in the garage I was able to clean off the worst of the dirt. It looks a bit better now. It's still on the trailer, not only is it a better height to work on it saves a space on the drive.

  10. Many years ago back in NZ, I had an old 1970s Mazda pickup that had a 5-digit odometer. My mate and I were on a roadtrip with our dirkbikes on the back, when I suddenly pulled over to the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, urging him to quickly get out. He leaps out, thinking we're on fire or something. "Run around the truck and get back in" I tell him. Once we're back in, I point to the dash and say "Brand new truck - 00,000! Defo not a brand new truck - that was it's second time around the clock!

  11. Well after selling my previous Westfield i spent a very enjoyable year playing in a MNR Vortx but the lure of another Westfield was just too strong so here i am back in the club with a Megabusa. I bought this beauty needing a few jobs doing which with the expertise of Andy at AJ Automotive it's now all done......just in time for the awful weather 😔 I've managed a whole 2 drives so far and i thought my CBR1000RR MNR was quick but this Megabusa with it's RLM racing 1440 Busa engine is in another league again. Looking forward to catching up with some of you guys/girls in the warmer weather

  17. What's up with Westfields online shop? I can't seem to buy anything using paypal, so end up using google pay instead. But that skips the delivery cost, and so they expect me to collect the order. It's happened twice now, the last time was months ago... I highlighted the issue, nobody seemed interested, and it still happens. I tried contacted them through the link given in the sales email, but they've got that wrong too (typo in their own email address) 🤪 I'm sure it'll get fixed, but I'd have thought it'd be more of a polished process by now!
