Gathering more interest than an Aston Martin.

Evening meetings are out for the time being due to difficulties getting everyone together from far flung destinations, so we had a breakfast meeting this morning.😀

Out in the Peak District today

A brilliant time was had yesterday as we had our christmas get together at the same place it all started at back in march. Unfortunately not everyone could make it but we missed you all. Some pics of festive fun. Well done Barry for your fantastic leadership this year and may we wish all of you a merry christmas from the East Anglian Area. Look forwards to the many blats next year. Please excuse my reindeer impression lol.

Also gutted to have missed it, first time in years. Looks like you had a brilliant time as usual. 🎅

Gutted I missed it, looks like a brilliant day! I'm definitely out in the car tomorrow, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms! 😂

A tremendous day out, we love the Santa Run, it's like nothing else, laughing all day.....well folks who see us are laughing at us, what a sight!! Met at McDonalds. Trevor and Kirsty came to see us as did Richard and Casey. Jake came as far as Bakewell and the poor lad had to go to a Christmas doo. That left Lee and wife, Glynn, Glynn, Andrew, Ian and us in our 6 car convoy through the beautiful, sunshiny Peak District to Quacker's cafe Thanks everyone for joining us today I hope you have all enjoyed it too, and what weather!!

That underlines the reason why I would NEVER take my car to be serviced or repaired by a main dealer.

Bought a used 20 plate Skoda Octavia from a main stealer back in August, when my 05 plate Volvo S60 D5 was consigned to history after a long and glorious run. Very good price, below Parker guide price, FSH, 23k miles, like new. Very pleased with the car. Before I picked it up, they did all the software / firmware updates that were due. Shortly afterwards, when driving with the active cruise control on, it flat refused to overtake other vehicles at any speed. Lean out to overtake, zero acceleration unless I overrode it manually. Back to the dealer, can’t find anything wrong sir… Neighbour has an Audi A3 and an OBD11 device. He plugged it into the Skoda’s OBD2 port and it communicated with his smartphone. Few minutes later and he found the problem - the software update was from VAG and the default for the active cruise control is to prevent overtaking on the right, where it’s illegal in Germany. Quick swipe to disable the restriction and problem cured. It’s faintly ridiculous that my neighbour, a local GP, knows more about it with a £50 device and his smartphone then a main stealer does.
