All ready for the Peaky Blinders!! Then the entertainment arrived 🤪 Played a few silly games - @Jakejmagee won the Westfield Sports Car sponsored pass the parcel car umbrella and @Trevor Little (Trevturtle) - Treasurer won the new logo cap. I clearly wanted these but couldn’t win my own game ☹️ Thanks @westfield cars for your generosity. Bottles were won by @si_salisbury and ? (Can’t remember - part of getting old) Dinner was served and all seemed to enjoy even the Queen of Cakes @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative was caught eating a proper meal. Then the @Toybox Specialist Cars sponsored bingo stripe game. @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO and @BillyPee’s wife Sarah, won the stickers, and @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman and @ianali won the mugs. Janette, @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO’s wife won the Toybox key fob and immediately passed it on to Ian with ‘Happy Christmas’. It appears that he now has this years present. Clare would like to say thanks to @HB46443 for the flowers. Really appreciated. I thought I’d end with a few photos of the venue who did a really good job of serving us all really good food. Thanks for everyone for coming. It has set up the season brilliantly. Also thanks to @westfield cars and @Toybox Specialist Carsfor their generosity. Have fun one and all and as it is now December, I can now say HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!🎅🏻 The end.7 points

We met at Quacker's cafe car park but sadly were turned away as the pipes were frozen, so the coffee pot was empty. Here we are parked at Quacker's. Not a problem, back in the cars and off to Hassop Station cafe on the Monsal Trail, here we are parked next to the outside seating. As it didn't look like the seats were going to defrost anytime soon we decided to sit indoors. Glynn photographed great as he tucked in to his festive breakfast, a Chronut! ChristmasDoughnut, filled with custard I might add! (not his first doughnut of the day😉😁) Next we went a run and didn't it just look amazing, Higger Tor, Stanage Edge, the Hope Valley all looked great in the winter sunshine with the dusting of ice. Our route took us over Surprise View and on to the Ladybower Dam, we turned at the bottom of the Snake Pass, which was closed to vehicles over 7.5t, so I guess the conditions were bad up there. We came back through Bradwell, past Monsal Head and down into Ashford, arriving at The Crispin, Great Longstone, where Andrew and Clare welcomed us to their Christmas party. The views made it all worthwhile and the electric clothing lowered the pain level a notch or two. Here we are parked at The Crispin The afternoon was spent at the party, which is documented elsewhere and the drive home in the dark was the warmest part of the day. A fantastic day out, thank you to my understanding husband, Glen and the two Winter Warriors @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman and @Glynn Walters for coming out in such challenging conditions, much respect to you x Some more pics of Quackers cafe car park5 points

@AndrewBClarke thank you and Clare very much. We’ve really enjoyed it and appreciate all the effort and little touches you’ve done for us. What a great way to start the Christmas celebrations with all our Peaky friends.5 points

Just to add Gemma and my thanks @AndrewBClarke and Clare. We both had a lovely afternoon, the meal was great, the company was fantastic and, as you say, it has set us up for the season. It is now snowing here just to top off the festive feeling. Merry Christmas to you all and see you in the New Year. Luke.4 points

Do not use them without the correct spigot rings. You will experience terrible vibrations and it is dangerous. Team Dynamics are generally 73.1mm and you will need 63.4mm for Ford hubs. This is what the reference code is on the side of the ring, 731634.3 points

Well it says it was -8 at the lowest point at the bottom of our garden last night and I have had issues defrosting the duck's water, and Gemma has disappeared to defrost the horses, so we will see you all at the Crispin because although we aren't nesh it will be nice to get out of the cold for a bit 😄 PS- it is currently -2 in the garage and that is with my tube heater running! Don't forget John Deere. They've destroyed their reputation in North America by going down this path. D1 point

C20XE is a good choice with lots of tuning potential. Look up Millington engines, they started with the C20XE and 285bhp normally aspirated., now use Duratec so both a good choice. QED, SBD, Omex supply parts and tuning parts for the XE. I would assume Germany has lots of parts as well. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5BBdv7QL7YY1 point

This is only true for hub-centric wheel fittings, lots of cars were designed for stud-centric wheels , MG Midget hubs as used on westfield 11s are stud centric where the wheel is located by the taper on the wheel nut .1 point

All part of helping club members Jens, I've certainly had help over the years. Happy Christmas when it comes.1 point

I hope not. Never been fined or been on a speed awareness course. Been stopped and warned lots of times but never issued a ticket, call me Mr Lucky, touch wood.1 point

Yep you really should always use spigot rings if the wheel centre bore and hub are different sizes! Dangerous not to as Naranja_Al says.1 point

Hi Julie sorry but we are going to bail today. It’s a bit too icy and foggy here for me. Take care if you still go! Cheers Dan1 point

I had multiple emails giving me updates on their journey from the Midlands to South Devon , only for them to turn around and head back to the Midlands due to the wrong house number . Thankfully local postman spotted the error and delivered these yesterday. Getting them shod with 195/50 r15 r888r. Are the spigot rings worth using, my 1.2s don't have any but these LTs seem to have a larger hole in the middle.1 point

Also in the early days when the Duratec was quite young the complete car with the Duratec was relatively expensive... I know because I wanted one but couldn't afford one... As always it depends on what you are looking for from the car...and what you are going to do with it...all options mentioned are good and each has it's own positives and negatives... I was on track a few months ago and there was a guy there who was fast.. obviously a good driver but had a well tuned Vauxhall engine.. and he definitely was quick...1 point

I have 8 scales, 2 per wheel as individually they don't go high enough. I made a box/tray for each pair for convenience and a small plank over each pair to spread the load. As Stephen mentioned, it's best to do all at once rather than one wheel at a time. More accurate and more convenient. It works well and is perfectly acceptable for our needs. Years ago, after I'd set the car up in this way I had the car dynoed at Northampton Motorsport and Troy offered to check the geo whilst it was there. He found the corner weights were so close they didn't need changing.1 point

Hi Bernie Almost missed this! You could have given me a nudge 😉 Happy birthday!!! And thank you so much for everything! Hope you believe in karma in which case you know are are in life's good book! And in mine! Jens1 point

OK, Dont laugh, but I have reasonably succesfully used heavy duty bathroom scales (that go up to 250Kg). I weigh each corner at a time, ensuring its all completely level (use wooden height adjusters / planks on the 3 wheels not being weighed). Real cheapscate solution (scales are £20 from amazon). Happy to be ridiculed, but for a rough guide I have found it pretty good... (Waits for incoming.....!)1 point

I pulled into the garage after a quick blast round the back roads and realised that I could see my feet. I didn't realise that I had illuminated footwells! But then I started thinking: had I always had illuminated footwells? I honestly couldn't remember. Why would a car as simple as a Westfield have a feature so Max Power? And if it did, wouldn't it be an offputting colour like lilac? This needed investigating. It stayed on with everything bar the ignition. Not a single switch on the dash made a difference. Weird, weird. A bit of gymnastics got my head into the footwell. Yep, there's a bulb under there. I need a bit more space to figure it out. Maybe if I put the handbrake off for more wiggle room.......... I'm really ashamed at how long it took me to figure out that the handbrake warning light had fallen out of the bulb holder.
