  1. My MOT guy used to love doing the westy. “Dead easy these… hardly anything to test compared to modern stuff” 😁 If your car is lucky enough to be on a Q (all hail the mighty Q) then check that they understand what that means and sit back as it sails through the emissions test 👍

  2. Two either brave or foolhardy Westies out playing last night in the dark and rain at our meet in Cullompton. I came over the (pitch) Blackdown Hills with some fog in places which was fun, particularly with the two candles which I call headlights 🤪. Grateful thanks to @colin homewood for his Roadside Assist service which got me going when my car wouldn’t start. I did feel guilty letting him push! Should have been the other way around, but many thanks Sir 🫡. I just popped the rather muddy car in the garage last night, but he had a good wash down at lunchtime. I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating that I’m really pleased with my side screens, half doors and half hood. There is little buffeting even at motorway speeds, and no water comes up between doors and bodywork so I stayed nicely warm and dry even without a heater, and because the car is open still, there’s no steaming up. What’s not to like?

  5. Whereaboutsd in the country are you? There's every posibility your local AO or local members might have an idea about a Westfield friendly MOT place...

  6. Any MOT station should be able to do it but if you can try and find one that has experience of doing kit cars would make your life easier.

  7. Please do not use polystyrene in a ceiling application it is a terrible fire risk.

  8. What about Celotex or similar. It’s light, rigid, easy to cut and has a reflective surface. No need for ply at all. Just a thought, it’s worked well in my 5 x 10m garage/workshop. I’m no expert, but believe you might want to consider venting the roof void above to ensure an airflow to reduce condensation, whatever you use.

  9. The warmest of welcomes. What a great, if bittersweet, thread. Thank you for sharing, and I hope you and your family continue to get all the enjoyment from it your dad did!

  10. Great stuff, we met up quite a few times at the Coleshill Breakfast Meet at Dordon, fun memories! Here's a couple of the August 2021 meet I dug out. Your dad in the background with Nick, Lee, Hedley, Andy, Ben and myself. I managed to snap Nik driving off with Nick and Lee about to follow in formation.... quite timely as I'm sure it was only the following weekend when he managed to knock a big hole in the sump on a kerb, leaving a huge trail of oil at the Stoneleigh National Kitcar show! Luckily he always seemed to have a load of spare engines 😂

  11. Thanks Rob! Yeah, that event was a surprise to us too. We were going up the weekend after, and found out as the photos appeared. Also I was 2 weeks post knee op and on crutches... These pictures are all from the last time Dad (Nik) drove the car any distance, which was the Coleshill Breakfast Meet at the end of May 22. Last pic of Dad and the car, and one of me and him.
