  8. I came on here looking for some info about pedal boxes a couple of weeks ago. A conversation with a new work colleague about cars was the first time I heard about this particular car. His late father built the car in 1992, he inherited it but was never keen on driving it as being a narrow bodied car he didn't fit in it very well. He mentioned he was thinking of selling it and was I interested. Id first looked at Westfields at Stoneleigh back around the time this was new and still have the catalogue I picked up. I hadn't really considered buying one until this came up. It's been off the road since around 2014. It has a new windscreen that needs fitting and will need at least a new set of tyres. The brake pedal is very high but it looks like it had new calipers and master cylinder at some point so it might just need the pushrod adjusting a bit otherwise I fit fairly well. I have yet to pick it up as I don't have anywhere to keep it. Hopefully I can sort this out in a couple of weeks and he is happy to store it until I can keep it safe. The car is from Sussex area originally, someone may even remember if the have been in the club for a long time. There is a lot of history with the car but it would be interesting to hear if anyone remembers it.

  9. It's our regular monthly meet this coming week, The Golden Pheasant as usual, 7.30 pm, will anyone brave a November evening in a Westfield? Will we still be being battered by storms? I don't know, but there will be roaring fires inside the pub to keep those November chills at bay!

  10. Meet at The Great British Car Journey, Ambergate, DE56 2HE 10am for a bite to eat before heading into the Peak District for a drive out. It's weather dependent, but we look to have a fairly dry forecast at the moment, who is joining us?

  11. My press. switch is/was still working, needed a good push of the pedal to get the lights on though, so I’ve added a micro switch operated off the pedal and wired in parallel with original switch. Now adjusted so lights come in with minimal pedal press, much better in traffic now IMHO. I used the micro switch listed in Greenstreak Andy’s write up above and and made a mounting bracket and actuation tab from aluminium. PITA working in the footwell at my age though! Wiring was straightforward, just connected into the brake light wire on the Blinkstop unit behind the dash.

  13. It is nearly 3-months since I bought my first Westfield and I have to admit I have loved every minute of ownership. I’ve made some changes to the car and carried out some minor works already in the following order (I think!) Remove stick on number plate with small plate below front grille Replace front grille with a Westfield grille Westfield stick on badge to nose cone Fitted fuel tank breather pipework Rotated my exhaust tip to be 90 degrees to the road Lowered and centralised my Dash2 Pro Re-programmed the shift lights, low oil pressure and low fuel level warnings Refitted windscreen and fillet Replace starter motor & battery Starter motor heat shield Replace bonnet inc black grills Wheel change from 15x7 to 13x7 inc new wheel studs, spacers and rear wheel bearings & hubs Fitted rear diff breather and pipework Removed all Jubilee clips and replaced with fuel line specific clips The car has then gone on a carbon diet! Custom AJM Design exhaust surround AJM Design boot cover inc the grinding off and welding of the inertia seat belt bosses AJM Design rear diffuser NV Carbon mirror covers NV Carbon rear arch protectors Works to complete over the winter Fix the very small oil leak I have from my Raceline sump Investigate slightly rough idle Investigate the rotational vibration at 1500rpm (ish), might be nothing just amplified by being a kit car Investigate the change in noise when the clutch pedal is pressed vs depressed NV Carbon sill protectors Cargo net to footwells for storage Silicone seal around all NV carbon parts - I HATE this! Change seats / add orange piping to my current Westfield Race seats Orange piping to black carpets I have found the forum an invaluable encyclopaedia of knowledge. Thanks everyone for your help on my journey thus far, it really is most appreciated. Cheers, Al

  14. I would but I can’t. At Mothers. Would prefer sticking needles in my eyes but it has to be done.

  15. Same for me, £325 for the Westfield, but only £20 for my diesel Alfa Romeo. The Westfield is 32 years old, but on a Q plate, will this become tax exempt?
