  1. Great day out in the Peaks yet again, thanks @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Starting early at Willington, we had 3 Westfields, an MNR and a VX220... oh and Hedley's BMW 3 series, thankfully he'd brought a skidlid so jumped in with me to experience the Honda. We managed about 7 miles before we lost Ben as he had to double back to find his mobile phone.... apparently he had decided to throw his shiny iPhone onto the A38 at 70mph.... needless to say its not as shiny after a bit of gravel rash! πŸ˜‚ Landing at Quackers we ended up with an awesome line up of 10 cars, including newbie Jake in his lovely Tiger Avon. After breakfast, we watched the main convoy leave before Hedley and I headed south followed by Lee. Did anyone realise our Social Media Guru was a medieval jousting expert!?!? Neither did I until today..... Coming into Bakewell we had stopped in a queue of traffic, which @HB46443 saw as a great opportunity to start waving his stick around to get some Insta360 footage.... with perfect timing, Hedley managed to harpoon a cyclist who was ignoring the 1.5m rule and undertaking the stationary cars πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚ Thankfully no harm was done and our crash helmets hid our laughter from the angry man in lycra! Just south of Bakewell, Lee stayed on the A6 to drive through Matlock Bath while Hedley and I headed for the B Roads to get the tyres warmed up on my favourite B5056 πŸ˜‰

  2. Quacker's Cafe meeting point Our newcomer Jake was made very welcome The cakes started early Inside Quacker's Cafe Plus Lee and Paul hiding at the back I found the ladies corner In the car park Jake's mascot We went on our run which was around a hour to bring us to the biker's cafe, The Yondermann for lunch Good views through the window in the cafe. We parked in the overflow and left the parking at the front to the bikes, of which there were lots of. After lunch the cakes flowed Andrew All of us As we were leaving lots more bikes arrived We went down to Baslow to enjoy some more of this sparkling autumn sunshine and some more cake Parked at the Pavillion Cafe, Baslow Fantastic day folks, thank you very much, see you next time!! I'm rushing off to pack, we are taking the Westfield up to the Lake District in the morning, excited or what!!!

  3. Hi First time out for a while, I had my second knee replacement in August. Pretty much settled now and getting more mobile. Clee Hill beckoned today, cold air and dry roads. What's not to like? Gary (The radar dome is part of the NATS network)

  5. It is nearly 3-months since I bought my first Westfield and I have to admit I have loved every minute of ownership. I’ve made some changes to the car and carried out some minor works already in the following order (I think!) Remove stick on number plate with small plate below front grille Replace front grille with a Westfield grille Westfield stick on badge to nose cone Fitted fuel tank breather pipework Rotated my exhaust tip to be 90 degrees to the road Lowered and centralised my Dash2 Pro Re-programmed the shift lights, low oil pressure and low fuel level warnings Refitted windscreen and fillet Replace starter motor & battery Starter motor heat shield Replace bonnet inc black grills Wheel change from 15x7 to 13x7 inc new wheel studs, spacers and rear wheel bearings & hubs Fitted rear diff breather and pipework Removed all Jubilee clips and replaced with fuel line specific clips The car has then gone on a carbon diet! Custom AJM Design exhaust surround AJM Design boot cover inc the grinding off and welding of the inertia seat belt bosses AJM Design rear diffuser NV Carbon mirror covers NV Carbon rear arch protectors Works to complete over the winter Fix the very small oil leak I have from my Raceline sump Investigate slightly rough idle Investigate the rotational vibration at 1500rpm (ish), might be nothing just amplified by being a kit car Investigate the change in noise when the clutch pedal is pressed vs depressed NV Carbon sill protectors Cargo net to footwells for storage Silicone seal around all NV carbon parts - I HATE this! Change seats / add orange piping to my current Westfield Race seats Orange piping to black carpets I have found the forum an invaluable encyclopaedia of knowledge. Thanks everyone for your help on my journey thus far, it really is most appreciated. Cheers, Al

  6. Called into The Motorist on my way home this afternoon (I needed the loo) The Rolls Royce Enthusiasts club were having a meeting, parked just behind them, but the Westfield looked tiny next to a Jaguar and some "Yank Tank".

  7. Managed a decent run up to Tetbury this afternoon. Nice blue skies but mighty chilly! I've driven past this mystery gate a few times thinking I should stop for a photo next to it.

  8. Maybe because it's been the coldest day so far, but only 2 of us turned up today. After a full English, we had a ride out towards Driffield, but my Satnav was taking me the way I didn't want to go, and one of the first roads was blocked so a different route was taken. We finally hit the road I wanted heading towards Market Weigton and Holme on Spalding Moor and on to Driffield. Quick fuel stop and Nick and Julie went off to Scarborough and me to Leeds. The road was closed at Stamford Bridge, but I found a new route through Pocklington. It was cold in under the trees, but not too bad in the sunshine. The flying jacket made it's first appearance of the year. Thanks to @Nicholas Rycroft and Julie for the early start.

  10. After looking online for a copy of the correct build manual and finding one on ebay for more than the cost of a trial membership I paid up last night ! The version I was after is in the 3 manual download file so I got a bargain. The car I am considering buying has been off the road for a long time and I can't test drive it. I know the pedal position will be a problem so I want to be able to come up with a reasonable plan on how to sort it out. Have to say the slightly later Westfield pedal assembly looks to be a better idea. The addition of some flexible brake lines and some extra bolt holes would almost make it adjustable.

  12. I believe it's one of the rear entrances to the Badminton Estate Paul. Worth a walk around in fact, some lovely parts to it plus it's own herd of deer. You can enter through the village itself. The house looks fantastic and there is a nice carp lake in front of it too. The horses run through parts of the lake during the Badminton Horse Trials.

  13. Lost _both_ rear wings on first two courses in yestarday's event (its called here ClassicautoCup, was over 120 cars!) , it was second 2-days track event this year in Wesdtfield, I felt I lost some confidence in it.. Too much driving with road Westfield, with normal speeds , in comfort... Additionaly this exact track's tamrac is really slippery even dry in twisty area. Felt like onec front lost grip, momentry rear, and viceversa. Anyway , it was real fun ! , first day open track training, second challenge, finished 2nd place in my group , was counting for more but.. that it is if You dont drive frequently enough
