Time to put a rumour to bed (probably started by @Scott Young (Captain Colonial) - Club Secretary 😉) I'm not a saggy, old cloth cat, baggy, and a bit loose at the seams! I've never named any of my cars and I didn't name this one! Someone else did....read on........ on the 6th Nov 2014, I visited Westfield Sports Cars for the first time and placed an order for a Mega S2000 full kit with White bodywork (having tested and bough a S2000 engine and gearbox that morning). I've had previous white cars: As I started my build, I soon learned that I'd need to fit indicator pods on my nose cone to meet IVA requirement. Post IVA I planned to move the indicators to under the headlamps. I therefore didn't want to drill holes in my nice new white nose cone to have to fill them later on. @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman kindly offered to lend my his spare nose cone which already had holes for the pods. It was bright yellow and was slightly damaged. Dave suggested it would need repairing and painting for IVA, so I asked if he wanted it painted the same colour as it was, the same colour as his blue S2000 or white. Dave said, do whatever I want or even do something daft! A quick google and a found a colour I liked. As the father of two girls, it was a colour I was comfortable with. A quick photoshop mock up and I was happy: Dave's nose was quickly repaired and painted for 'mates rates' by a friend in a body shop. On the 17th March 2016, I was 'followed' by this car, all the way to my IVA Test As I was unloading, the Examiner came across to say hello and said that he likes Westfield's and they are usually well built for IVA, though he had to ask 'Why have you painted your nose pink?" My reply "So you won't want it in your test bay for long, and you won't want it back!' This set the tone for an enjoyable morning and I walked out with a pass. Shortly after I got home, the indicator pods 'fell off' and the nose cone holes were filled in. It wasn't quite time for my pink phase to end. My unique car had gained plenty of WSCC fans (Especially @CosKev) during my build and they needed to see it in the flesh. Also a certain 'kit car show' was close by: Also a run out to my local Cheshire and North Staffs WSCC Meet, which was sharing the pub with the Ferrari owners club: If you zoom in, you'll spy an 'ouch' sticker over my attempt to fill/paint the holes. Here's it next to @lloydox (builder) @fildyke(current owner) lovely S2000, for my Geometry set-up. On the 19th June 2016 (Father's Day)- I was attending a local transport festival. I put my full size front number plate on( @marcusb honestly, officer!) , and less than 3 miles from home, as soon as my speed went passed 30mph, it fell off and got driven over! It's been in the boot since! During my build, after the nose colour was decided, I'd noticed that my local bus company had taken design inspiration from me and stickered up their fleet! So as it was Father's Day, I though I best visit my local bus depot for a 'Father and Son' Selfie: After IVA I also fitted one of @Kit Car Electronics excellent Free Wheel kits. In the press of a button the end of pink...........or is it.............. My car ran like this from 21st June 2016 until July 2017 and the pink nose went back to @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman as a spare. Every time the garage door was rolled up, I did miss the pink nose. Fate was about to play it's hand. @Greenstreak-Andy D invited @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman and I to his 50th Birthday celebration at the 2017 Le Mans 24H, which was to be our first Euroblat. The trip was excellent and after the race, rather than rush back home we had a few more additional days bimbling round northern France. On one of these days I had an 'Oh la, la ' moment after a long hot, tiring day with a dry stone wall on our hotel carpark, whilst reversing, I failed to note how close my rear driver's side wing was to the abutment on the wall. Which resulted in: It didn't ruin the great trip, but wasn't going to stop like that. My wife, kindly suggested it wouldn't rust and could stay like that! I'd done similar but less significant damage to the passenger side arch on my own driveway, when reversing without mirrors during my build and had badly bodged it with gelcoat. So both wings needed to be repaired properly. Time for some colour & with some help from Photoshop, I was stuck between these two colours: @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman kindly agreed to sell me the pink nose, the rear wings were removed and all items went back to my friend to be repaired and painted. I 'really' enjoyed removing the silicon sealant used to hold the stone guards on with. The first meet with my new colour scheme was the excellent Gold Cup at Oulton Park in Aug 2017 You'll notice the 'ouch' stickers still on the nose cone, my friend in the Body Shop had a holiday to go on, and the nose had to wait a while longer. In Sep 2017, I attended a Peak District Meet at Tatton Airfield, and during lunch the discussion turned to a name for my car. @Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) was mentioned and I stupidly suggested 'Primrose' in jest (I was quickly corrected by the green fingered ones amongst us that they are yellow too ). @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative blurted out 'Bagpuss' in between chomps of cake and the name has stuck ever since. She shortly after gifted my bonnet ornament of the stuffed toy and most in the club started to refer to me as Bagpuss too. So I've not fought it! I've been called much worse 😉3 points

Calling all petrolheads. The winter is looming but it wont dampen our spirits. As a few of you may have sorned your cars for the winter me and Barry thought it would be good to have a social. We have decided to have a get together at this years NEC Classic car show on november 11th. Its a great time to visit the past cars we all dreamed of and support all the clubs, manufacturers and traders. Westfield sportscars has come a long way in a year and its great to show the brand and the wscc club our support by wearing our gear. Westfield sportscars may not be at the show but will in our hearts. The idea is to go together in our tintops or westies if you want too and maybe meet for breakfast prior to arrival at the NEC. It will be a great show and also will stimulate our brain cells into maybe improving our cars or garages over the winter. If we go maybe in 3s or 4s we can chip in for fuel and parking and also have a good laugh and build friendships in the process. Tickets can be purchased online prior and this is advisable as it saves a lot of queuing. If interested please reply here or message either me or Barry. Regards Martin & Barry Joint AOs East Anglia1 point

I can't recall I how long I have been with them now , perhaps two or three years, but when you submit a meter reading you are offered to do this "spinning wheel" thing, somewhat childish in my view , but hey I give it a go none the less. Never won as much as a £1.... anyone actually won anything with that ever ?. Perhaps the younger generation have fun with it, but too old for silly games really. You've already played all your spins for October Looks like you've already played all your monthly spins. Thanks for playing! Check back again next month for another chance to win! Want more spins? Book a smart meter installation if you are eligible here to win an extra spin each month. Stuff your smart meter, lol.1 point

If you've made reasonable efforts and gone through their resolution process, get the ombusdman involved. If you haven't raised a formal complaint with Octopus, do so. As for energy suppliers, all I can offer is to avoid EON. I won't bore you all with why, just steer clear.1 point

Just joined Octopus Loyal 12 mth fix from standard Octopus variable and payments gone down by £50 a month.1 point

Glad to hear you're better Richard, my Westfield hasn't turned a wheel for a good while. My son - also a 'Richard' - is now ensconced in Sydney with his family and he was a significant driver for us going on track days. I shall get it off its trailer and MoT tested at some point. It'll appear on the for sale section here no doubt.1 point

I must be paying your bills as well then if yours went down, all very odd.1 point

I've replaced all the replaceable bits in mine: brushes, diode pack, regulator - more than once in the regulator case, plus I re-soldered the rotor coil tails to the slip rings when heat melted the original solder and centrifugal forces flung the tails out from their connections. The alternator in a Pinto installation is very close to the exhaust manifold. Disconnected rotor winding tails: Broken brush 'pigtail': The broken pigtail resulted in an electrically 'noisy' signal on the electrical system which upset my rev-limiter. Re-soldering the pigtails had to be done with high melting point solder.1 point

Put me down too please👍1 point

Welcome from a fellow S2000 driver. I've been as far south as Claerwen- Hope to meet up at some point. You've bought a great machine!1 point

Yes. Launched in July I think. Manage account via phone app only and currently for electricity only (which doesn't bother me as our heating is oil). Variable tariff works out about £60 p.a. lower than the cap and payment is monthly variable DD - so pay for what you've used after you've used it with no price penalty. Claim to have £78m private equity backing and say they want to be different. I'm leaning towards giving them a go1 point

Not really any "stories". Actually they were all very pleasant, friendly and down to earth when I met them. Some of the news people not so much...1 point

Just found this Oscar’s Garage YT video which does show the cars at 9:10. Nice little reviews of a few of the cars too, including the dragster!1 point

The very first time mine snapped, I was lucky and had a pair of walking boots in the boot, both laces from those tied together were just long enough to pull, but don't fasten the rear of the bonnet down or it won't work, lol. Second time was a spare I carried on board, and that was the final straw, two cables it was, not quite clutch cable thickness but far bigger than pushbike stuff. Been ok ( cross fingers) for 8 or 9 years ish so far.1 point

Might be fine for road use, but if you might want to do a trackday some organisers don't like them I believe. I remember some years ago at Cadwell Park my wife had an open face hemet, but with a full visor in front, and they wouldn't let her use that.1 point

Been caught out a few times with that ( although mine snapped), ended up fitting two cables instead of the one it came with. Even with two I carry a spare in the boot - once bitten and all that...1 point

Deposit now taken. 2007 wide body Westfield for sale on a 2005 private plate which can go with the car, also have the original reg on retention. The private was valued at £400 on an online site. The car has done 28500 miles, and was MOT’ed in July. I have recently had the engine professionally tuned and mapped on a rolling road and is giving 130 bhp its a 1600 Ford Zetec Sigma engine with Jenvey individual throttle bodies with a new Pipercross air filter running on Omex 600 ECU with a MT75 five speed box with a standard Ford Sierra back axel (No Slip Diff) . Just fitted which is still with a warranty a more powerful starter motor and solenoid relay. It has two keys and the car has an immobiliser. The engine and gear box were new and crated from Westfield with the original kit. It’s been fitted with upgraded Westfield Cobra sports seats and four point harness seatbelts with a removable Go Race steering wheel. It has a half hood, full hood, half doors, full doors and wind deflectors. It also has been fitted with the RAC roll bar. It has the Soft Bits, cockpit cover, boot bag and a spec made clamp on boot rack. Plus a spare wheel with a un used tyre. The car comes with an extreme conditions outside waterproof cover and a soft indoor showroom style cover, and the car is fitted with an efficient heater for those colder days. I have only had the car for just over a year and its been immense fun car to drive. The car runs exceptionally well, and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I am sadly selling as it hasn’t quite worked out with our original plans for some weekends away touring with the wife, i did though consider giving her a bus ticket . unfortunately she is just not that keen on the cars size and feels vulnerable. I am now looking into a larger classic British Sports car with doors and a larger boot :-). The car is in Devon, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any more questions. I can send you a walk around film on request. Thanks £9500 ono.1 point
