  1. Hello Everyone, I'm Gavin and my first post to introduce myself. I've been lurking in the background since September last year, but I've finally gotten around to fully joining today. I got my Westfield (first one) back in July of 2022 and I like to get out in it as much as I can, covering approximately 5000 miles. I absolutely love driving it, such fun! I'm based in Nottingham (just off junction 27) and pretty much since I got the car, I've been 'lured' into Rob's Notts & Derby group where we have an absolutely fantastic bunch of people. I look forward to getting involved here and catching up with some of you face to face.

  2. Quick update to this. We will meet at 8.30 in the Tesco Car Park nearby and drive in from there. Once I have numbers I’ll book a table/s for breakfast; so far I have 9 westies and 3 tin tops. @Chris Broster - Bristol & Bath AO @Paul Baker are you able to attend? I have Paul marked as a yes currently. Any other takers from your group? Let me know by 15th latest and I’ll get it booked. Thanks all. Stu

  5. Less than two weeks to go and the final details for the day have been released. For those that know Colchester the start line will be at the town hall and finishing at the bottom of high street near the castle. By my calculations that’s 200m so shorter than was originally billed but is the steepest part with an elevation change of 6m. No news yet on the course design but I’m expecting a couple of jumps and a chicane. I guess we’ll find out in the day. BBC Essex are also proving race day commentary and there’s three big screens to watch the action. Final fettling of the soapbox is being done, sone basic testing was completed by pushing around the garden and rolling off the trailer ramps. obligatory race car driver stickers fitted

  10. The Yorkshire area will be heading down to the Strines Inn multi area meeting on Sunday 10th September. We'll meet at the Red Kite on Denby Dale Road, Wakefield, WF4 3BB at 9:30, aiming to leave at 10am. We'll take the roads avoiding motorways and hope to get to the pub around 11:30. We'll be stopping at the Ye Olde Mustard Pot, Midhope Hall Lane, S36 4GW about 10:30 to meet Tony and anyone else. Hope this nice weather stays. If anyone wants to meet for breakfast first, me and @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator will be at The Red Kite for 9. Let's make it a good one from Yorkshire.

  14. Great to catch up with you all today in the sunshine , it was a bit fresh leaving home early ,my passenger needed a blanket ! But the day just got hotter and hotter 😎 a few pics from the co pilot The open roads and cows in fields ( Becky loves cows there probably in better focus than the cars 🤣) some shade when it was hot and leaving Quackers in search of ice cream see you soon ( well at least a couple of weeks ) Andy & Becky.

  15. It's that time again for the Derby & Notts pub social meet! As always, we are at the Clock Warehouse in Shardlow (DE72 2GL) at 7pm, parking in the lower right hand car park. If you would like food/drink then order at the bar before heading to the upstairs room 👍 Westfields are optional (I may be in the tintop myself depending on the dreaded commute), but chat and laughter with friends and fellow petrolheads is compulsory 😂 Hope to see you there!

  19. There is a large meet happening on the Sunday this weekend so I am sorry that I won't be able to organise a meet on the Saturday. I don't think your flights allow, but it would be great if you could get along to that meet instead. If not, let's try for next time you visit. Safe journey, Julie

  22. (I hope whoever's car this was, at the Classic will forgive me for the random photo!) This is a handy example of the sort of ZK/Kit difference we normally talk about, in particular the difference in the swage line, down the side. That said, I don't recall seeing a ZK bonnet with the molded in bulge like that either, but it does give you an idea. The scuttle and bonnet are more closely matching styles, so unfortunately I couldn't get a shot of the difference at that end.
