  3. Great run out this morning for a few of us, taking in some of the best roads around Somerset. Cloudy skies but no rain!

  5. We did this, a cracking route with some nice roads. I can't claim credit for it though, and I stayed at the back and followed the others! Photo from Chew Valley Lake but a few nice picturesque stops on route to the final destination at Thatchers.

  6. I’ve tried a suction cup mounted low down on the side and it worked well. Still used a tether though! 👍

  7. A small meeting today with only 4 people and 3 Westfields coming. We did have 2 new members joining us, welcome to @MGG and @Madfish. Hope we'll be seeing you again.

  8. Yes, I had it mounted up front for a bit then on the passenger side above the exhaust. The exhaust one sounded great and showed the articulation of the front wishbone and damper. May try mounting it on the rear hanging just below the bumper to show under the chassis later. Was a bit worrier about it falling off so will use a teather next time.

  10. Thank you @AndrewBClarke for arranging todays run around the Peaks , but I must say thanks to you all for letting the late comers catch up !!! Our day didn’t start very well due to the wonderful world of road closures 🤬 first the A38 was closed north bound after Lichfield and the detour was taking us back down the 38 and off towards Tamworth on the A51 !! So plan B was hatched to go out via the A515 , great until we got to Draycot under clay where it was also closed sending us to Uttoxeter , a quick phone call to say go without us and we’ll catch you at the Ramblers, then Andy said he’d turn on WhatsApp location so we could track and catch them, well we eventually did But we were going the wrong way 🤪 thanks for waiting while we did a U e it was a great drive thereafter. Pics from the co pilot Billy no mates looking for friends Being allowed to join in Getting your run up Wynats pass ruined 😡 Finally at the Ramblers Thanks all see you soon Andy & Becky

  14. It's what's called a dog point grub screw. As, like me, you're in Loughborough, I'd suggest trying either Charnwood Fasteners (my go-to supplier) on Prince William Road or GI Fasteners on Windmill Road Industrial Estate.

  17. At last, some nice weather!!!! Lee, Hedley, Tony, Alex, Michael and I met up early doors at Swadlincote. I'd planned a route through the local B roads to Shardlow so set off through Swadlincote in convoy. Shortly afterwards I managed to get pulled over by one of our friendly boys in blue after exhuberantly accelerating from a mini roundabout.... the exchange went like this.... "Do you know the speed limit sir?" "Yes officer, it is 30mph, I live half a mile away" "How fast do you think you were going?" "I was doing 30mph officer, but I did get there quite quickly!" "Yes, very quickly! Not very grown up making such a scene with all that noise is it sir!?" "No officer, apologies, the car is a little loud but I was within the speed limit" "Hmmmm.... Do you have your licence? I will be checking your car while you are here" 5 minutes later after a check of my insurance and finding nothing wrong with the car, his demeanour changed somewhat... had I built it? how powerful was it? do i take it on track? etc etc 😂. After the pleasant chat with the nice officer, I scooped up the rest of the convoy (who in true Top Gear, style had scarpered.... thanks guys! 😂😂) and headed for the twisties where we made a whole lot more noise! Landing at Shardlow we found Glynn and Steve already there so parked in formation in the sunshine. I hadn't even got out the car when the laughter started about my run in with the traffic officer 😂. Sadly, @HB46443has the stop on video so no doubt it'll be posted all over social media within the next few hours 🤦‍♂️ After the ribbing we indulged in a coffee and bacon buttie, and headed to admire the cars. A cracking morning of cars and laughter with a bunch of mates! Hope you all got home safe, see you on the next one 👍

  18. Cars in the car park, we normally sit in a back room behind the bar. Not sure how busy it will be on Sunday, apparently there's a football match on.
