  3. Hi Everyone! Just a friendly reminder about the benefits you get with us for being part of the club. Access to our bespoke club schemes and UP TO 15% discount with various insurers - as a broker insurer discounts on our panel do vary for club members so there is no set discount but we will always offer the best price for the cover needed regardless of who is offering the higher discount, because an insurer with 15% discount may still be more expensive that another offering 10% or one of our bespoke club only schemes which are really competitive. All you need to do to make sure any available club benefits are applied to your quotation is mention WSCC when we ask how you heard about us or if you're a member of any car clubs As always. here if you need me! 01635 874646 www.facebook.com/aplanspecialist

  4. Just asked the woman in Waterstones if Prince Harry’s book is available to download. She said ‘do you want the PDF file?’ I said no, that’s his uncle.

  5. If anyone is visiting the North dales, North Yorkshire moors area, THIS is a must do route designed for driving. I've been doing this one since.. Well.. It was the last century! With longgggg fast flowing roads, amazing countryside which takes you from fields to open moorland. Some tight n twisty bits, and some big hill climbs. Plenty of fuel stops Plenty of food stops Plenty of touring stops if you want to explore more. You'll love it Scotland is great but far.. You can get a feel of it here without the 8hr just to get there. This is also a chance to drive the famous Helmsley to Great Broughton Chop Gate road... Very challenging. Tackle Sutton Bank, Clay Bank. Newgate bank to name a few Target time is around 3-4hrs plus stops. Enjoy! Anymore info message me

  6. Hi everyone, the second of our usual two track days per year is on Friday, 22nd September 2023. The format for this event will be the same as the May one, earlier this year. Please read all of the details below and contact me as requested please. Also, please read the following disclaimer: ** To save the WSCC from any liability issues I have to let you know that the Curborough track days have been booked by Warwickshire Area Organisers independently (as they have been for the last 15 years) and are not therefore organised or sanctioned by the Westfield Sports Car Club. ** As usual we are keeping it to only 15 cars, with first choice on the limited number of places to Warwickshire Area WSCC members, then followed by the wider WSCC membership. If all the places are not filled, I will post it on the Warwickshire Area Facebook page and accept non-WSCC members to make up the numbers. I have arranged to have the on-site cafe provide us with food and drinks for the day. Clearly there is an additional cost for this, so the fee has been adjusted accordingly. The cost this time will be £90 per car/driver, if all 15 places are filled. Any additional driver/passenger will be £16 to cover food (if required). I intend to open the gates around 9am, the track will open at 10am, with lunch from 1pm until 2pm and finishing at 5pm. The proposed fee will cover all the costs but any surplus will be donated to the appropriate WSCC charity (Air Ambulance). However, if we cannot fill all the places then I will have to ask for additional funds to cover the cost of the hire. Ideally, I would like to see all monies paid by the 15th September. These track days are often oversubscribed therefore we will keep a reserve list in case of last minute withdrawals, but if places are not filled, refunds for non-attendance cannot be guaranteed. Please follow the instructions below; 1. Send me a PM with your full name, an email address and a mobile number 2. Pay the full balance by bank transfer to the details I return to you, ASAP please 3. Read the menu below and indicate a lunch preference Menu Breakfast - bacon & egg or sausage & egg sandwiches Lunch - Burger & chips or curry & chips Drinks - tea, coffee & squash available all day (Other items may be purchased from the cafe on the day) Finally, due to the requirements of managing the track entrance I could do with at least one assistant who is prepared to attend and help with organising without driving or alternatively a few drivers to give up driving time to assist. Please message me if you wish to volunteer. This is always a great day and a safe way to explore the limits of your car and yourself with only one car on the circuit at a time. If you need any more information on this event, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I will add names to this list as they are booked: 1. Justin Lever 2. David Burr 3. Rob Hunter 4. Mike Williams 5. Geoff Hall 6. Nick Mucklow 7. Ian Heawood 8. Stuart Gilkes 9. Tony Shakeshaft 10. Gavin Parker 11. Colin Howard 12. Tim Coles 13. 14. 15. Reserves Pulled out: Tony Marley Mark Jones Greg Penney

  7. Our leader @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative is on holiday again but I still need my Westfield fix so does anyone else fancy getting together for a bit of fun?? Meet at Matlock McD (DE4 3AU) for their excuse for a coffee and a tyre kick at 10am and then off on the small roads to The Rambler Inn, Edale (S33 7ZA) for a hearty lunch. If anyone is still with us, after lunch heading to The Fountain Tea Rooms, Bonsall (DE4 2AA) to top up with cake before setting off home. Weather forecast seems good so who is coming?? In a slight diversion to the norm, if anyone wants a gpx copy of the route for their TomTom, I’ll try to post it on the forum nearer the time. Obviously weather dependent.

  8. Thanks so much Stuart! Chloe is a real car gal 😄 I may have recruited her at a Mustang event, but she loves all specialist vehicles and comes with a great insurance background too. #WeStoleHer #FindersKeepers 😜 Carlie

  9. Thank you @AndrewBClarke for leading a run out in our absence and what a fabulous place to go, The Rambler Inn, one of our favourite's both in terms of venue and the drive there. We will be back in action at the Bank Holiday weekend so have fun without us until then x

  14. Will get great to meet you Jens. It was discussed on the regular meet thread a little. Let’s keep this one for Re:Fuel and the other for the monthly meet as far as possible. I tend to forget my name if people don’t remind me so let’s keep things simple for me 🤪🤣.

  15. Hi! I'm coming. Bit puzzled as I thought there had already been a thread discussing this - but I'm away on holiday currently and hence not even sure which day of the week it is today... 🙂

  17. Another briliant A Plan renewal experience. They had actually found another underwriter at £15 cheaper than existing but I had left it a bit late to sort agreed value with new one so renewed with old one which still had a year's agreed value to go. Chloe Bellingham very helpful (and knowledgeable about Westfields). Thanks Chloe.

  18. Inspired by @AndrewBClarke's great 4 day blat over the weekend. I decided to head out early yesterday(before 6am) and ended up covering 397 great miles over 12.5 hours (I did stop in for Coffee @CosKev) on the way home). First half of the run- Thanks to @David Bennett for sharing a route he'd done earlier this year, which formed part of my morning. I particularly enjoyed this part- 2nd half of the run- Looking moody over Snowdonia but not a drop of rain fell! Craig Goch Dam Lunch break- Pen y Garreg Dam The Dam baguss fan club- Damn reversing! Mainly light or no traffic. It's probably the longest I've driven in a Westfield in a day and it didn't feel like a chore. Though I did sleep well last night !
