  2. Although I had booked us in for 10am the car park was chock full of scooters. They were booked in for 8am and should have left by 10am, we parked up in the overflow car park, it was weird though, in the space of less than 5 minutes they all suddenly got on the scooters and disappeared, what a fantastic sight/sound/smell/experience.. The cafe now empty, that was time for breakfast. Richard Usher (owner) came over to welcome us with an instruction to bring @Nick Algar with us next time. Perhaps if we have a committee meeting at the New Bath Hotel we could combine the two activities. Here we are tucked away in the overflow car park, hopefully next time we can display in front of the museum as planned 15 cars, well done you amazing lot for coming out on a forecast of showers, thank you. We got one shower while we were in the cafe and another one on the run out as we entered Bakewell. Here is Richard Ushers car one of only 9 left out of 1800 originally manufactured, the museum is full of interesting facts not normally found in car museums where they just show an example of the older more expensive rarities. We took to the back roads, totally missed out Matlock Bath which might be full of scooters by now 😆 and landed at Quackers cafe Andy kept up tradition with the cherry and almond blondie We sat and chatted for a good long while enjoying the currently dry atmosphere Welcome to the new members, I hope you felt included enough, we are a friendly lot and have no problem talking. It has been great to be back out on a club run after what seems an age, thanks for coming everyone.

  4. I have been a paying member since 2003 IIRC and I have not driven my Westfield since summer 2015 which was the last track day at Hullavington. Nevertheless I look at the forum daily and even when my car is sold (family circumstances dictate) I shall quite possible maintain membership to the most civilised forum I visit. No bickering, no political rants, valuable technical knowledge, and generally enjoyable fraternity.

  5. Thanks for another great day out guys , it’s been a long time But it all came flooding back, I think @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative should be renamed Storm-chaser it’s not the first time she’s took us into doom and gloom. Not long after this photo it got mildly moist 🙄 see you soon Andy & Becky

  8. Must disagree about the Alfa Romeo, no drips on my garage floor, a crossflow though. Now that's a different story.

  10. After some unfortunate timing I have to sell my 1997 Westfield SEW 2.0 Redtop. I am finishing up an overhaul of the car and having to move sooner than expected for work before finishing it up. I have had it for over 2 years and planned to import it to the USA but do not have the time to make it happen. It has the highly desirable 'Redtop' motor that was rebuilt by Hurley Race Engineering earlier this year after a valve issue with no expenses spared for street and light track use. The motor was installed and tuned by Team Leos Racing in the UK. Engine specs: C20XE- 284 SBD inlet, 270 Kent Cams Exhaust, Weber DCOE 45s, baffled oil sump, live rear axel and open diff. Mileage is currently 16800 miles MOT has elapsed and I plan to have it refreshed prior to sell Priced for quick sale, asking £7,500 ONO Will be able to show the car starting this week (12 Aug) Location Mildenhall, UK Good · Professional engine rebuild with pictures and papers · Carbs rebuilt by Team Leos Feb 2023 · New alternator installed Aug 2023 · New clutch fitted Feb 2023 · Brakes have plenty of life (front disks/rear drums) · New steering gaiters July 2023 · New Pipercross sausage filter fitted May 2022 · New custom Intatrim Seats with heating pads Jan 2022 · New OEM Wesfield Silencer (with cat) · Suspension alignment by Team Leos Feb 2023 · Carbon Dash fitted by previous owner in 2021 · Two weather hoods (one original but tatty, one new needs to be fitted) · Second hand Team Dynamics wheels with Toyo Proxes front/R888 rear · 5 speed transmission that shifts smooth · Handbrake readjusted for MOT fail July 2023 · Rear light wiring redone for MOT fail July 2023 Still to do: · Idle needs readjustment (Recommend Hurley Engineering or Team Leos) · Chips on wheel clearcoat · Rubbing on fiberglass rear arches from doors (planned on installing carbon covers) · Roll Bar needs fresh paint/powdercoat · Seat’s heating pads needs to be wired in (comes with harness) · Overall surface scratches on the fiberglass, will try to buff prior to viewing · Old coilovers could use refresh prior to track use Thanks for reading, please reply with any questions. Cheers!

  11. Inspired by @AndrewBClarke's great 4 day blat over the weekend. I decided to head out early yesterday(before 6am) and ended up covering 397 great miles over 12.5 hours (I did stop in for Coffee @CosKev) on the way home). First half of the run- Thanks to @David Bennett for sharing a route he'd done earlier this year, which formed part of my morning. I particularly enjoyed this part- 2nd half of the run- Looking moody over Snowdonia but not a drop of rain fell! Craig Goch Dam Lunch break- Pen y Garreg Dam The Dam baguss fan club- Damn reversing! Mainly light or no traffic. It's probably the longest I've driven in a Westfield in a day and it didn't feel like a chore. Though I did sleep well last night !

  12. Makes sense. I think 13” look great and offer the best ride and performance. I’m loving it thanks, still learning about all the little noises it makes and how to drive it properly. I’ve owned fast cars in the past but the power and handling is off the scale. I’m going to try and get a track day in at Donnington Park before the end of the summer to see how it really goes!

  13. Hi glen , have had both covers , wasn’t impressed with the storm car cover as it caused severe micro blistering and ended up with a spray job , have had my classic additions cover and used it now for a couple of years both indoors and out in extreme weather , great anchor points but would be better suited to and seiw with rollcage as it’s a little saggy around the roof area , when I purchased mine I was at the time in the process of getting a cage fitted but it still hasn’t happened , cover is currently on my other westy which is an se but still covers and holds down tight , maybe I was just unlucky but for me the classic additions works well for me

  14. Just for the benefit of the potential purchaser, the hood frame does fit under the boot tonneau. When i owned this Westfield i put some foam between the hood frame and bodywork to protect the body. Here's a photo. Do ignore the seats, after the sale the new owner replaced the sport turbo with sport seats. Andy

  16. Why are you selling the wheels Steve? They look great on your car…..
    1 point
  17. For the wheels, 13 inch are getting rare as i understand are not available now, could be wrong, but if i'm right could affect prices. Offset is good to include in a sale price. I would check eBay or do a search to guide you with price. They may sell more readily with tyres fitted. Andy

  18. Yep, was speaking to them last night on FB Messenger as it happens. They do look great. Gonna measure up and if suitable get a pair or carbon seats, then sell my Westfield padded ones. They are the 30th Anniversary Special Edition ones too. No idea what they're worth secondhand though?

  21. Been to loads of shows with the club. Always good people and good fun with lots to see and do. What is it that you find that doesn't suit you?

  22. Hi Jens, I think the challenge for a mid week meet is that it needs to be regular, and we will all have had hour ish drives to get there anyway. I think we should have a first meet, get to know each other and our preferences and then go from there. Car oggling and driving are my preferences too, when the weather allows 👍 Stu

  26. Hi, I'll be doing the normal A38/A50 (DE65 6DX) pre meet and convoy at about 9am for a 920am depart. Sadly, the route to the GBCJ isn't the best so will be A38 and A6. If you are coming that way, feel free to come along 👍

  28. I normally turn it back the right way going through towns and villages to avoid looking like a complete kn*b 🤣, but it does reduce lift! I did lose one cresting a bridge over a motorway once, it flew quite a long way! Must remember though when I take the doors off….

  30. I got out again today, 2 days in a row now, very pleased. I only popped up to Castle Combe circuit which isn't too far from home. There was a 6th Gear driving day going on, some very nice, very expensive exotica been driven on track. I forgot to take a picture of my car in the paddock but took this as proof...... Why is it proof? Well look very, very closely and tell me what you see! 😂

  36. A moist car was the understatement, while Hedley used a cup to bail his seats out I thought I’d cup my hands for a quicker way. Thankfully the sun came out in the end and dried the car out then myself, Glynn and Tim were the only ones left. A wander round the pits and then greeted by an ice cream van, obviously it’s rude not to try one in the now better weather 😁

  37. Had my little helper out for company yesterday while working on the car. Funny when I strapped her in with my 6 point harness so she couldn’t move 🤣🤣 Seemed quite relaxed though. I’m wondering how long I can get away with this until Mrs Stu starts to get a bit twitchy 🤣🤣 so far she has seen it and not passed comment. It’s in my office though which is the one place I can technically do what I like in terms of mess making 🤣
