Inspired by @AndrewBClarke's great 4 day blat over the weekend. I decided to head out early yesterday(before 6am) and ended up covering 397 great miles over 12.5 hours (I did stop in for Coffee @CosKev) on the way home). First half of the run- Thanks to @David Bennett for sharing a route he'd done earlier this year, which formed part of my morning. I particularly enjoyed this part- 2nd half of the run- Looking moody over Snowdonia but not a drop of rain fell! Craig Goch Dam Lunch break- Pen y Garreg Dam The Dam baguss fan club- Damn reversing! Mainly light or no traffic. It's probably the longest I've driven in a Westfield in a day and it didn't feel like a chore. Though I did sleep well last night !5 points

Popped up to AV8 at Kemble/Cotswold Airport today just for a Cappuccino ๐ Nice fast blat. Tally - 17 fast overtakes (a new record for me on that route), a sunglasses left lens big bug impact, 3 strange noises and one worrying smell but all totally OK when inspected upon return. I hate those weird noises and smells you occasionally get in an open top car. Thankfully they usually turn out to be completely external and nothing to do with the car being about to explode ๐4 points

Being very much still a newbie to a Westfield (albeit moving up from a MGB GT) the amount of smells and noises the Westie provides is something else: - the pinging of stone chips in the wheels - the unburnt fuel from the carbs - the occasional whiff of brake smell Etc. I think the MGB served up more oily notes, but that's probably because they seem to be designed to leak. Either way, I love that additional layer of interaction to motoring - makes even a mundane journey an event.2 points

Good evening! Thank you, Stu @Stuart Davis (fatblokestu) AO- Devon & Somerset, for moving this forward. Thursdays would be easier for me, but Mondays possible - depending on what time. I can't commit to being there every month, but would definitely be keen on/off (lots of hobbies as well as a family to keep me entertained). Very happy to give @evosteve a lift down, unless he's back on the road or prefers his tin top. It's about 1h for me 1-way, depending on how interesting I make the journey+ how lucky I get with other road users. Question: what are you proposing on meet-up: oggle each others' cars? Go for a joint loop drive with members peeling off when suits them most? Food and drink in Tiverton? To cut to the chase: I prefer the middle option. I'm not averse to food, actually quite the opposite, but I'm in a car club, not cake or coffee club ๐1 point

@Stuart Davis (fatblokestu) AO- Devon & Somerset Count me in! Weโd probably drive down together anyway. Either night is ok for me, but if you want a decision Iโll say Thursday ๐๐ผ Id probably suggest every 3rd week just to keep clear of other meets ๐๐ผ1 point

Hello all, Just an introduction. After a long sabbatical from my last 2 seater indulgance (S1 Lotus Elise) I will hopefully pick up my first westfield next week to once again "scratch the itch" before I am way too old. I sold the Lotus with the intention of trying something different but.... someone in the family had better ideas and the proceeds turned into a new kitchen anyway, 13 years down the line a new toy will grace the garage in a few days Looking forward to some meets (I see the Yorkshire AO lives literally just down the hill from me!) and outings soon. Regards, Martin1 point

Hi Robin, Thanks for the welcome. I'm up the top of Bullerthorpe Lane at Colton so kind of up hill from Woodlesford I think ๐ I should be able to make the Buffers meet for sure and probably the Darrington too.1 point

Hello Martin, and welcome. As I presume you know, I'm the Yorkshire AO. We have two regular meetings month, the first Tuesday at the Buffers, Rakehill Road, Scholes, LS15 4AL from 7:30ish and a breakfast meeting at the Darrington Hotel, Darrington, Pontefract, WF8 3BL from 10am. Hope to see you at the next one on the 20th. Where abouts are you, you can't be up the hill from me, I live at the top!1 point

Finally got some decent weather to get out and take some photos of my new car. Iโve already undertaken some minor cosmetic changes to the car; new Ford and ST170 badges to the rear, removed the stick on front plate and replaced with a smaller standard type plate (thanks @Flying Carrot Steve) and Iโve fitted a new Westfield front grill & bonnet badge. living ownership, Al1 point

Had my little helper out for company yesterday while working on the car. Funny when I strapped her in with my 6 point harness so she couldnโt move ๐คฃ๐คฃ Seemed quite relaxed though. Iโm wondering how long I can get away with this until Mrs Stu starts to get a bit twitchy ๐คฃ๐คฃ so far she has seen it and not passed comment. Itโs in my office though which is the one place I can technically do what I like in terms of mess making ๐คฃ1 point
