  1. Part 2. Roll of Honour. @simon walton in his people carrier. Well organised. Thank you. @Stuart in his BMW M240i @SteveB21 in his F type @Andy Westwood and Sue in their Hyundai i40. Sorry no photo of the car. 🤪 Now some random photos of the group, views, and obviously my car 😁 About 900 miles in ‘challenging’ UK weather. Eaten far too much. Gave up competing with @Andy Westwood on the cake front. But a really good time. I’m off for a long sleep now………

  2. Finally got some decent weather to get out and take some photos of my new car. I’ve already undertaken some minor cosmetic changes to the car; new Ford and ST170 badges to the rear, removed the stick on front plate and replaced with a smaller standard type plate (thanks @Flying Carrot Steve) and I’ve fitted a new Westfield front grill & bonnet badge. living ownership, Al

  3. Had my little helper out for company yesterday while working on the car. Funny when I strapped her in with my 6 point harness so she couldn’t move 🤣🤣 Seemed quite relaxed though. I’m wondering how long I can get away with this until Mrs Stu starts to get a bit twitchy 🤣🤣 so far she has seen it and not passed comment. It’s in my office though which is the one place I can technically do what I like in terms of mess making 🤣

  4. Part 1 In the end there were 5 cars but only one of them was a Westfield. The pre departure weather forecast was absolutely horrendous so the sensible ones came in their Tin tops. For us, the trip started on the Friday with a 240 mile trip from Lincolnshire to North Wales. Weather was dodgy but started off without roof but soon had to revert to plan b and put the half hood on. Left home at 10 and with bad traffic etc we arrived at about 5.30 😁 The others we already there so we all got together for an evening meal at the hotel. Saturday was forecast to be interesting but not to be perturbed we simply put on the half hood again 🤪 The route was split into 4 - before cake & coffee, before lunch, before afternoon cake and tea and before evening meal. Roughly 200 miles of fantastic puddle splashing. Surprisingly, even with Storm Antoni, the roof came off for some of the afternoon. The others were probably relieved that they had come in cars with roofs!! Sunday was again planned around 4 routes totalling 200 miles. So after a full English, we set off again but without the roof on (until a downpour made us change our plans). On Monday, it was time to come back to the real world and in typical style, the weather was fine do no roof for the long trip home. Continued in part 2

  6. A moist car was the understatement, while Hedley used a cup to bail his seats out I thought I’d cup my hands for a quicker way. Thankfully the sun came out in the end and dried the car out then myself, Glynn and Tim were the only ones left. A wander round the pits and then greeted by an ice cream van, obviously it’s rude not to try one in the now better weather 😁

  7. Sorry, yes; We host our own photos here on the forum, on our own server, (we physically own the hardware at the data centre), so when we need more storage, the club buys another hard drive etc. Therefore, we only host photos for Club Members who have paid to join the club. For those not members, while you can post links and embed pictures, they must be hosted elsewhere. However, photo hosting is just one thing the club offers it's members; we also have everything from member discounts from our sponsors, (including on insurance), to a presence at the two major UK Kit Car Shows offering various member services. As well as the best and most comprehensive Westfield related Technical Support anywhere. We'd love it if you did decide to join us fully.

  8. Got out in the car for the first time in almost a month after a long holiday (and waiting for the rain to stop), I've missed it! Dropped in to Castle Combe at lunchtime to see a few of the guys on a track day.

  9. Good write up and photo's, one of the most important part of the trip, well done to @AndrewBClarke and Pete for sticking with the Westfield for the trip👏

  10. Hi @DanH I am also local to you near Ilminster and like Stu don’t know anything about the car you’re looking to buy unfortunately. As for servicing, I try to do most of it myself, only last week I had to take my diff out to change a leaky seal. I have also changed my own cambelt in the past, I find working on my car quite satisfying, they are not terribly complicated so providing you have space & tools I would say just give it a go. You’re in the best place for knowledge & advice! Good luck with your search and once you have one quite happy to go for a blat!

  11. Yes @Alex Gaskin, I live pretty local to Swithland so it’s only a stones throw from me or if you take the long way round it’s a good 1/2 hour or so and a fantastic drive 😉

  13. SALE AGREED, Hi folks probably the toughest decision but here’s my westfield up for sale; Westfield Mazda SDV Iva’d and first registered in May 2018 and on a Q plate. Please note this is a great useable car not a show car and so has some blemishes. Mazda 1.6 2001 running gear, so really reliable and has done 2 euro trips plus many thousands of UK miles with no issues. The car has lowered floors, Q/R carbon steering wheel, carbon dash, carbon interior panels, carbon chassis rail covers, carbon headlight bowls, carbon indicator pods, carbon (discreet) rear diffuser, carbon front splitter ( mickmade), intatrim heated seats, led rear lights with flowing indicators , high level brake light, led headlights , half cage roll bar, lockable boot lid ( modified to suit half cage rear legs ), it has extra wide rear wings and 15” rota classic alloys with khumo ecsta tyres, colourmatched electric mirrors , quad lock phone mount, also comes with tonneau cover, wind deflectors, doors and a soft bits half hood with easy entry zips, Just had new rear callipers/ discs / pads. Bad bits There’s a couple of chips in the windscreen and a hairline crack on the tub behind the drivers right shoulder. Extras included a pair of std rear wings, scuttle and a pair of long wings ( all in white ) used windscreen . mot’d untill 23/11/23 Priced with the above in mind at £8500 Ovno Located in Speyside , north east Scotland , this will give a great entry westy with plenty of scope for the new owner to enjoy and make their own

  14. This has been on my list of things to do for ages, but had to take second place to sorting my exhaust out which I managed to finish this morning. I wanted the doors to be hinged so that I can get in and out with the half hood on, so ages ago I ordered some stainless steel fittings from a Marine Chandlery shop. They took months to arrive, but when they did I could see that they would do the trick. I also picked up a Rivnut gun and suitable Rivnuts to take the hinge fittings. I want to be able to remove the doors and fittings easily so that when the weather is set fair for a while I can go back to fully open. Anyway, to cut a long story short it basically all works. I made a mess of the first two rivnuts as I didn’t know what I was doing but with a bit of tidying up they will be fine, they are fixed firmly so all is good. The main downside to the fittings I’ve used is that they stand the door away from the bodywork a bit, leaving a gap for the wind to come in. To close that, I’ve fitted some trim from Woollies which works really well. All that is left for these is a little strap and popper to hold them closed. They seal up perfectly when pulled in so should be just what I wanted. Last job was to fit the old Caterham wind deflectors I had on it before. The hinge fitting holes had been sealed up, so I had to re drill those but they have gone on very well and sit nicely against the front edge of the doors. They have the added benefit of stopping the doors swinging right the way open so it all works well 👍👍 Apologies for so many pictures!

  15. Results below as per norm. I hope everybody was OK especially Alex, I heard the outer circuit was a bit tricky over the weekend. The weather's been particularly unkind I know but hopefully you still had a fairly good time. Blyton R15 - Sat Results Blyton R16 - Sun Results Tiggs

  16. Good evening, Mr C While I agree with the convenience of being able to look at anything and everything being a lovely thing... I do find myself often irritated by the plethora of freely available stuff online that, on vaguely closer inspection, lacks depth and quality. So, what you refer to as "cough up" is around £28 per year! 28! I think it costs me more to fill the tank of my toy. Yes, I do use it as my daily, but even I have to concede that it is a toy. A toy that makes £28pa look like a very, very cheap entry fee to a very, very high value knowledge/fan/like-minded people base.

  17. Glad to have helped mate. I do a double-take every time I see your car, it looks spookily like mine despite some obvious differences (roll cage) but still freaks me out when I see a picture of it 😂

  20. So far I’ve just used my little local garage in Crewkerne just down the road and they have coped with basic service and MOT. They do see a few similar cars so know what to expect. There are a few places like Tipton Garage who come recommended for tuning and repairs etc, though not Westfield specialists. https://www.tiptongarage.co.uk/servicing-maintenance-diagnostics-tuning-and-engine-build-services/

  28. Great Westfield, I owned her from 2013 till 2020. She did a couple of trips to LeMans. Only sold her to get the S2000 mega westie I had always wanted. Good luck with the sale. Andy
