Put up a hammock in the garden with sufficient strength to take my 18st weight! It was an amusing journey to get there! I started off with ropes, but found that the ones I had just stretched so I ended up on the ground each time. I resorted to some wire cable in the end. First time was a failure again as one of the clamps slipped, but once fully tightened it did hold perfectly well. I confess there is only about a foot to spare when I get in! Enough to enjoy a nice relax though, just need some sun now!2 points

This has been on my list of things to do for ages, but had to take second place to sorting my exhaust out which I managed to finish this morning. I wanted the doors to be hinged so that I can get in and out with the half hood on, so ages ago I ordered some stainless steel fittings from a Marine Chandlery shop. They took months to arrive, but when they did I could see that they would do the trick. I also picked up a Rivnut gun and suitable Rivnuts to take the hinge fittings. I want to be able to remove the doors and fittings easily so that when the weather is set fair for a while I can go back to fully open. Anyway, to cut a long story short it basically all works. I made a mess of the first two rivnuts as I didn’t know what I was doing but with a bit of tidying up they will be fine, they are fixed firmly so all is good. The main downside to the fittings I’ve used is that they stand the door away from the bodywork a bit, leaving a gap for the wind to come in. To close that, I’ve fitted some trim from Woollies which works really well. All that is left for these is a little strap and popper to hold them closed. They seal up perfectly when pulled in so should be just what I wanted. Last job was to fit the old Caterham wind deflectors I had on it before. The hinge fitting holes had been sealed up, so I had to re drill those but they have gone on very well and sit nicely against the front edge of the doors. They have the added benefit of stopping the doors swinging right the way open so it all works well 👍👍 Apologies for so many pictures!1 point

Hi All, so based on current responses we have to cater for people potentially coming from Hook and Epsom. I think midpoint is probably somewhere on the west side of Guildford. One idea was the Beefeater / Premier Inn outside Godalming as it has a decent size car park or Newlands Corner which a few people have mentioned. I was thinking a 7pm meet, sunset is around 8:30 so we can all still get home before it gets too dark. I think it will be good to establish a few different meet points and rotating them as I feel a bit guilty living so close to Newlands! I might have to drive a few miles out of my way to warm the engine up 😉 cheers, Martin1 point

Welcome Norrie, have fun with your new car! I’d check whether the current suspension can be adjusted enough to clear your villages speed bumps before necessarily buying new. It often doesn’t take much raising to do it. I’d also check to see what’s catching, underneath. Sometimes it’s something daft like the seat mounting bolts, which can usually be shortened a little. If you do decide on new suspension, @DamperMan on here is well worth speaking to. His Spax packages are extremely well matched to Westfields, - he owns one, after all! Finally on the suspension, once at a suitable height* with or without dampers, it will be well worth having the suspension geometry properly set up by a specialist. It can transform the cars handling, if it’s never been done. *note there is an optimum height range for the suspension, so don’t wind things up too high!1 point

It's also on Youtube, just in case the Facebook link doesn't work. There's a promo woven in which is the only irritation, and there is a tiny bit more content.1 point

Wow! no aquaplanning ??(second picture? is MK not Westfield ) I have never drove on such amount of water in Westfield, smaller pudddles makes me feel like car starts to disconnect from road (road drive, road regular tyres not semislicks) , i think thats because it so lightweight, but there - a looot of water! wow!1 point

If you want to nerd out on Apollo tech, I can recommend the YT channel CuriousMarc. Not 100% Apollo stuff by any means, but his series on the guidance computer they restored was epic.1 point

Went for a quick drive today now that I’ve sorted the closing straps out and yes, it does make a big difference 👍. I had the roof on too and it felt quite calm even at motorway speeds. Elbow room is a bit more restricted, even with the pockets (if that’s the right word) in the doors. Quite manageable though, so I’m pretty pleased with how it has turned out.1 point

I have used it for a couple of track days but mainly been for road use. It has the omex 600 ecu and throttle bodies setup my Northampton motorsport producing 183 bhp at the fly wheel so theres plenty of options to increase the power should you wish. Wide body Wide track suspension Hi spec front brakes 13 inch team dynamic wheels Spacers on the rear Full cage and aero screen, a normal screen could easily be added Carbon exhaust Less than 4000 kilometers on the clock, with all the little niggles ironed out. Great as a track and road car. First registered in 2008 with a full restoration in 2022 by toybox Specialist Cars, including a new rebuilt engine. Which explains the low miles. Based near sleaford (ng32), more specific pictures can be available if requested. £14,500 open to sensible offers Any more info you can email or text Jdg.green@hotmail.co.uk 077661106250 points

Hi Norrie, my intro the Westfield mirrors yours exactly, I posted the same only 7 weeks ago. Also started my ownership with a SEight. Where are you located? And BTW it appears to be the law on here to add photos - just so you know the etiquette same as I’m still learning. Welcome from the Black Country. Phil R0 points
