Hi, Having just re-joined the WSCC after a few years away, I was wondering if there are other people in the Surrey area who would be interested in a regular meet up? A few years ago we had quite an active group, we had a monthly evening meet as well as Sunday morning runs. I think when the old AO moved away, it all went a bit quiet and a lot of people joined events with the SKCC club. They are a dedicated and active bunch but often start and finish some distance from Surrey. So if you live in the Surrey area and would like to use your car more, but maybe not before dawn on Sunday mornings then please pop you hand up and we can try and arrange something that suits all. cheers Martin1 point

We are arranging to visit Snetterton on August 26th to support Club members competing in the Speed Series. Currently I have a list of eight planning to attend. If anybody else would like to join us please let me know. Many thanks.1 point

As another COViD evacuee 😉, I moved down to Crewkerne in Somerset from Walton-on-Thames two years ago (how time flies!) and since re-buying my old SEi a year ago I’ve been enjoying the fine company of the Dorset group meeting in Bridport. With Sean’s time now taken up with other activities, there is a chance for me to give being AO for Somerset and Devon a go so that we can hopefully get some meets going for those living further West in Devon and also further North in Somerset. It’s a huge area so we may have to be imaginative in terms of meet locations or satellite groups but I’m sure we can work something out. So first off, please post up here if you are in the Somerset & Devon area and interested in monthly meets, drive-outs or other events and we can go from there. Once I know where everyone is we can start making some plans. Thanks all 👍1 point

The weather on Sunday is not going to be kind to us according to tonight's forecast so we might as well postpone this event until it improves when we can really enjoy a good day out. Sorry folks, stay posted for a new date.1 point

My understanding of the taller screen is that while it does use the same uprights, it has greater rake than the standard screen when used with the matching side screens, hood etc. Theres nothing to stop you fitting it at the same angle as the standard screen though, if not using the taller side screens, hood etc. Also, perhaps not relevant in this case, but for others that come across this later. The standard cosmetic roll bar was supplied in a taller version for use with the taller screen, this is important if planning on using the matching FW full hood. There is no full hood option, to the best of my knowledge, when using the tall screen on a ZK tub car. Though the screen itself, side screens and taller roll bar would all fit OK.1 point

Cheers to all you guys for come along, it would have been lonely without you My gazebo looks rock-solid in that photo lol maybe next year it'll be a bit less windy lol and a bit less wet?1 point

Bear in mind there are taller side screens to go with the taller windscreen. Useful if considering a half hood. Not tried, but presume “standard” side screens will fit as I believe the same pillars are used, but you will end up with a gap to the half hood I suspect. Just a thought.1 point

My car has a standard floor and I went from standard to tall windscreen and it was the best (expensive!) decision I made. It means that I'm now looking normal through the windscreen instead of hunching down to ignore the top of the windscreen in my line of sight. I'm 6'5 for reference and I have shell seats that are mounted to the floor as low as they can be. If you can afford it, do it. The mounting points are the same (or very similar) from memory. If you haven't fit a screen yet, you may want to change the angle a little bit, but I just re-used the same mounting holes and as a result doors and deflectors are fitting the same way as before too.1 point

Hi Martin - I'm in Weybridge and definitely interested. I can also recommend the Plucky Pheasant at Newlands. Steve1 point

Hi - Define Surrey, it's quite a large area, I'm in Hampshire, but not far from the Western border of Surrey so depending where you are, my "blat zone" may well overlap with yours. If you're partial to a substantial breakfast, I can highly recommend the Plucky Pheasant at Newlands Corner.1 point
