  2. Been back today. Lovely to have no roof on. Display cars looked fabulous and attracting attention. Much more of a buzz overall and much busier. Public car park was nearly full when I left in time for my Sunday lunch at home!!

  4. Much better weather today so the Westfield came out to play! Great to see everyone and the lovely cars on display. Loads more new people to speak to including new owners and people looking to buy and/or build 👍 Later in the day, I caught @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AOtrying to have marital relations with a mahoosive blow up doll while @Glynn Walterswas whispering sweet nothings in her ear.... what happens at Newark, stays at Newark! 😂

  5. I wish i could go back today in the westie but the ole girl is on the ramp. Started it yesterday after going to the show. Please guys if you have the chance to go wether it be in yer westie or the tin top please do it. The weather is tons better and the guys that set up the stand would love to see you. Also it would be good to support nigel and his team on the trade stand. Westfield need you.😎

  6. My sister is with me Wasn’t so chatty with all this buffeting 🤣 but she did manage to get some sleep 😴 Took a lovely route just after the Millau Viaduc that took us through Ganges & Nimes finishing at our villa in Aix-en-Provence. Here’s the route Literally haven’t found a bad road yet, it’s lovely driving here. Had lots of admirers too along the way with lots of people giving a 👋🏼 Couple of pics

  8. Not much progress to show for the last couple of weeks as I’ve been very busy with work but I did manage to get the screen finished and some colour on the bodywork. my pushing team suggested I needed something a bit bolder than plain red so I’ve gone for a bright camo vinyl wrap. there’s a few bits to finish on the nose cone before it’s fitted but I’m almost there and ready for testing.

  15. One result of my little incident after Malvern was a sheared off exhaust bolt that looked tricky to get out. After some good advice from Adge, I ordered an Easy Out kit off eBay which arrived this week. I had sprayed the bolt with GT85 a few times during the week to hopefully make it easier to remove. I punched a mark as centrally as possible and then found it relatively easy to use the drill bit to put a hole all the way through, running the drill in reverse as the bits are reverse threaded. Access was a bit tricky, so I just got a pair of mole grips on the extractor and the sheared off part came out remarkably easily! Hurrah! Exhaust is now bolted back on securely and not blowing at all, so hopefully can go and have a gentle drive soon, next weekend most likely. Despite owning a Westfield for about 16 years in total, I’m still pretty clueless on doing anything much to it, so this counts as a win 👍👍

  17. I’m yet to get it corner weighted😀 The Solidworks model suggested 60kg. That was excluding all the bolts and hardware so I’d guess at around 65kg now. Most of the weight is on the front axle so by the time I’m sat at the back it should be around 60/40.

  18. They’re short 😀 it’s a ramp start so the push is only to get me onto the slope rather than running on a hill.

  19. We went in the tin top and it was very nice to see you all again. Emma enjoyed herself again and is starting to feel the westie vibes. Big thanks to all for the effort of setting everything up and sorry the weather stopped a lot turning up. Also big thanks to westfield stand and the guys having a great talk with us. Emma loved her free bag and was amazed when i told her that she was talking with the owner. Cheers martin. Ps. Will be in touch Rob about getting some Cambridgeshire / Norfolk westies and sevens to meet up with you guys.

  20. A really amazing job today from all involved, Marcus and the team for managing the event and getting it all together, and all those that came along, whether by Westfield or tin top. Shame we didn’t have great weather, but i don’t think the occasional rain dampened the atmosphere or everyone’s enthusiasm too much! Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

  21. Great to see everyone today! Huge thanks to @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinatorand everyone who helped yesterday and today. Those that know me will be amazed to hear the weather beat me and I went in the tintop (hangs head in shame 😂). Kudos goes to those with the kahoonas to make the trip! The hall was better this year with Westfield Chesil, MK, XCS, Quantum amongst others. Martyn managed to get his stunning (and amazingly clean!) car on the Westfield Chesil stand. Big thanks to Nigel and Simeon for allowing a club car on the stand 👏 @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative getting her top off despite the rain 😂 This was a great opportunity to try and spot some dirt on Rita.... I'm glad to say we found a small speck on the master cylinder (Glen, you are slipping! 😂) The forecast is looking a lot better tomorrow so I'm hoping to take the Westie! Hope to see some of you there 👍

  23. Chanced across a Westfield bonnet badge I bought a while back but decided not to fit. Then noticed it was the perfect size to replace the Momo badge in my steering wheel. Now looks way better.

  24. I didn't even know there was a Mrs Matt only met Matt's sister 'Chatty Nat'. Whatever the facts are Matt, hope you have a fantastic time - I'd strongly recommend the awesome Tarn Gorge to anyone that gets close to the Millau Viaduct.

  27. Well I picked up the SE and drove back from Stoke in the pouring rain. Handling a bit leary but who knows if it has been set up properly. Engine seems well out of tune but again who knows when last tuned. Receipts and folders many from Westfield suggest engine maybe a 1600GT do need to check numbers. Possibly a Kent A2 fast road cam. it may all just need a good clean of carbs, reset tappets and general fettle. All hopefully straight forward enough.
