  1. Took the SEight to my engineer from when I was an apprentice who built a Seven in the early 1990’s. Took him for a run out. Then a photo shot with his granddaughter. The smile on his face says it all. The pleasure it gives to everyone I meet is insane. 🫶🏼🍻👍

  3. Big thanks to Rebecca and @A-Plan Insurance THATCHAM Just used one of my inclusive trackdays I have on my policy. Rebecca was brilliant and a real character too, got my cover sorted and had a good laugh at the same time 👏

  6. I managed to get 10 cars booked in for todays show at Walton, Wakefield, however we only managed 5 Westfields and 3 interlopers! Due to mechanical failures and illness, to miss quote Meatloaf, 8 out of 10 ain't bad. Fortunately the weather stayed kind to us.

  7. Excuse the slight play on words, but I’ve decided enough is enough. Despite some kind words from the Derbyshire crew to the contrary, I am living up to my nickname too much, even more so after a gluttony sprint over Christmas. At one point, whilst loading my plate up again on Christmas Day, my little eight year old muttered the immortal words ‘Daddy, if you carry on like that you will end up eating the hot plate as well!’ 🤣 Weight peaked at a horrifying level, well it began with a ‘2’ in stone if that gives an idea. Prior to the pandemic, I reached a similar point and embarked on a two year fitness campaign which got me down to around 14st, where I should be. Unfortunately lockdown was my undoing, particularly spending months ‘working from the kitchen’, about three feet from the fridge 😬 My biggest weakness is chocolate, and all things sweet (don’t mention cake please!), but so far I have managed to get my cravings under control and have been chocolate free for four days. Hopefully that’s all I need to get on the right track. My plan is to do what I did before, start walking everyday and build it up to a decent level. I was walking over 50km a week I guess, and there are some nice walks from where we are now in Crewkerne, so no excuses! Non Westfield related benefits: Health; avoiding diabetes! Energy levels; keeping up with said eight year old Happiness; I’m much less grumpy when exercising Sleep; Mrs Stu does not enjoy the snoring which comes along with the weight! More important (🤪) Westfield related benefits Should fit in my narrow bodied SEi more easily Might even be able to refit the seat Approx 40kg weight loss should improve acceleration without spending any cash on tuning! So, if anyone is in a similar boat, please feel free to post up here and we can give moral support to each other. Otherwise any encouragement along the lines of ‘You can do it chubby’ will be appreciated. Pictures of cake should be avoided, but if you must, you must, it will build up my resistance to temptation! 🤣. Coffee and Walnut pictures for me please 🤪 I’m back under the big 2 0 already, so next stop is something with an 18 at the beginning, target 14 by the end of the year ish 💪

  8. One result of my little incident after Malvern was a sheared off exhaust bolt that looked tricky to get out. After some good advice from Adge, I ordered an Easy Out kit off eBay which arrived this week. I had sprayed the bolt with GT85 a few times during the week to hopefully make it easier to remove. I punched a mark as centrally as possible and then found it relatively easy to use the drill bit to put a hole all the way through, running the drill in reverse as the bits are reverse threaded. Access was a bit tricky, so I just got a pair of mole grips on the extractor and the sheared off part came out remarkably easily! Hurrah! Exhaust is now bolted back on securely and not blowing at all, so hopefully can go and have a gentle drive soon, next weekend most likely. Despite owning a Westfield for about 16 years in total, I’m still pretty clueless on doing anything much to it, so this counts as a win 👍👍

  9. Hi all. I have just purchased a nice little Westfield SE with a 1.6 crossflow on 45s. All looks well. Just needs a little bit of tlc, fettle and maybe a few mods or changes soon. Especially the wheels. Apart from that I am looking forward to ownership and no doubt boring you with many a mundane questions for which I apologise in advance.

  10. They are very interesting if you go with the mentality that you want to learn something. Within 5 minutes you will know the ones who are not interested and don't want to be there. I have done more than one and I actually found them really enjoyable.

  11. I am now a definite no show as the car will not stay in fourth gear. Rob, if you know anyone who wants a free track evening I will transfer the booking, rather than it go to waste. Raymond

  12. I have not given up yet! It’s just been a series of problems one after the other, after having the engine out to change the clutch. When refitted starter wouldn’t engage with ring gear. Changed to an old starter and that worked. No idea what the problem was. On test run, she was jumping out of 4th gear and then blew all the water out. Found top hose had split, which is now fixed. Just about to take her out for another test run, but noticed exhaust can has a crack on the front face. If everything else is ok, I will try and fix exhaust tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

  19. I have been going since 2000, always camped, generally there are between 8 and 12 of us attend, we think we’ve got it down to a fine art ie. still got ice for a G&T on a Sunday night! We usually go overnight from Portsmouth on the Wednesday and return Monday evening, variety of vehicles but definitely need a support vehicle to get the larger stuff in. We visit the local shops on the Thursday when we get there and don’t have to leave site again unless we go to Arnage for a coffee. We don’t have electric hook-up they are few and far between. Pictured are some of the guys resting!!!
