Good weekend at Powderham, usual eclectic mix of vehicles (well over 1000 I understand) of all types spanning over 100 years. We had nine cars on our display area Saturday, with couple of showers during the day, so roofs/covers on and off as necessary. Saturday evening the “steamers” provided their usual atmospheric backdrop around the bar area as darkness approached. Sunday started with a heavy shower, but then cleared as our “day visitors” arrived to join those making a weekend of it. Eleven cars on our display area, which filled it nicely with room to walk round. Ominous bank of grey cloud appeared from the south as the morning progressed. Lunchtime found us quickly covering our cars and sheltering in the gazebo when it literally tipped down for about an hour! Thankfully the rain stopped and we were treated to a sunny afternoon to dry things out before we had to pack up. All in all a good weekend, many thanks to all who came and displayed cars, plus those who made a long weekend of it and helped with setting up/packing up our display area, plus cooking breakfast! Looking forward to next year.3 points

Only ever camped once, used a gite and motorhome for other visits, however, we always stayed over after the race leaving on Tuesday morning after the race, far less rushed. A good thing if you can is arrive early to watch the scrutineering and practice - its a real spectacle. You can certainly camp at the circuit if you choose, we chose to camp away and drive in, there are many campsites available within 20 / 30 mins drive to the circuit - many of them put on "entertainment" e.g Chateau Chanteloup - as there were over 20 of us, we decided to make our own 🤣 and found a campsite about 30 mins drive from circuit and within walking distance of "supplies" plus a great bar that stayed open until last man standing/staggered out. That first year (1995) we even managed to attend a local couples wedding after they spotted our Westfields and asked if they could have some photo's by them 🥂 Its a great experience and would recommend a 10 day break to take it all in ....... Don't forget to visit the Museum 👍 .............Go for it3 points

If anyone is visiting the North dales, North Yorkshire moors area, THIS is a must do route designed for driving. I've been doing this one since.. Well.. It was the last century! With longgggg fast flowing roads, amazing countryside which takes you from fields to open moorland. Some tight n twisty bits, and some big hill climbs. Plenty of fuel stops Plenty of food stops Plenty of touring stops if you want to explore more. You'll love it Scotland is great but far.. You can get a feel of it here without the 8hr just to get there. This is also a chance to drive the famous Helmsley to Great Broughton Chop Gate road... Very challenging. Tackle Sutton Bank, Clay Bank. Newgate bank to name a few Target time is around 3-4hrs plus stops. Enjoy! Anymore info message me1 point

One of the best and most popular meetings of the year. Wirral and North Wales will have a pitch to display cars over the three days. Go to the Oulton Park website and book your pass to enable access to our pitch. Easy. You just need your reg and a pic of your car. See you there. John. Note. Application for a display pass closes on 16th July. £19.50 for a weekend pass is best value.1 point

I'm planning to go to Le Mans 24 next year for the race in June and I'm looking for advice on what to do and what to avoid. As I've never been and it has always been a dream of mine. So far all I know is that I'm going in the Westfield (obviously) with one other and we are camping. I'm looking for any recommendations on everything, where to camp, what tickets to buy, when should I arrive, what to avoid, what is a must see......you get the idea advice on the entire event. I can arrive in France upto 10 days before the race and can stay on afterwards, but I'm guessing that everyone leaves soon after the chequered flag. Any and all advice welcome. Thanks in advance Chris1 point

Dorset area are having our regular display area representing the WSCC at this show. It is always a great weekend with a large number of vehicles of all types on display, from steam engines up to modern classics. Organised by the Crashbox and Classic Car Club, the Historic Vehicle Gathering is the largest car show in the South West and one of the largest in the country. Old news now I know, but this is an excellent in-depth article on the Titan and the man behind it. To say hubris and unheeded warnings is putting it mildly - the man was flying in the face of everything sound. Worth a read.1 point

Insta 360x2. Longer stick wobble but video is ok. Not surę i I would like to go with it extended for longer trips but so far few 2-3 hours trips around stays quite sure. Prepared mount "just for now to try" in place I mounted so far old smartphone used as dashcam. Proper one will be without tiecables Stick was extended to approx 80cm above rollbar .1 point

Wednesday 12th July. The Stag Challock Near Ashford Kent 1900hrs. A simple turn up at the pub for a drink/food and natter. no official ride out planned, just an excuse to get the cars out on a week night! All welcome. See you there for 7pm (in light of the recent Kent online bad press please remember to drive sensibly through the villages and respect the venue, we don’t want to lose it 👍🏼😎)1 point

See the Lydden hill official website to book. £140. 6 sessions split into three groups. A few of us have already booked the novice group. It would be great to see a few more local sevens. If you don’t fancy racing, pop down in the cars, park in the paddock and enjoy spectating for free. Good food and great friendly atmosphere. Hopefully see you there.1 point

Please, please don't! We welcome all who share our passion for kit cars and motoring. It's fantastic to see a different approach to your car, and we'll look forward to seeing and reading more of it.1 point

OK, it was hot sunshine ALL day long, great for Westfield driver's, rubbish for idiots like me that chose the wrong car, I am not bitter about it, no, I just need to go and kick the nearest meteorologist, let me at 'em. Andy and me in our dailies, umph. The lovely Westfield's Gary's beautiful MEV and another Westfield just to taunt me Into the paddocks 'Are we going up the Honey Pot' well it's an offer one can't refuse can one😲 Our Derby Notts leader tamed his driving style down for the lesser cars in the pack and we finally arrived at cake heaven Nothing ladylike about eating this I can promise you As the sun insisted on shining it was a shame to go home without passing through the Peak District and stopping at Quackers on the way Thanks guys for a marvellous day out and be sure not to mention who got the wrong car out this morning🤣1 point

It's finally summer in Montana, USA and race season is in full swing. The car is working very well giving great results. The handling has really gotten dialed in and it allows me to get very close to the cones (the closer you are the better in almost all cases) which in turn makes the course shorter....so precision is key. Good fun. dave1 point

Me n Debs will be there weather permitting of course 😉😊1 point

Great drive around the Peaks yesterday. Up Winnats Pass and a stop for lunch at The Rambler Inn in Edale. A small issue going into the carpark when my alternator belt started squealing. Quick check and the the bolt for the alternator bracket attached to the engine was missing. After lunch Sue and myself had a walk down the road and I found the bolt and the washer. Bolt refitted and off to Bakewell for dessert. Great day helped by the fabulous weather and a bit of luck finding the bolt.1 point

Last year’s Newark show was the first for years and was organised very late with little time to plan. Even then, the stands were much better than expected and turnout reasonable. It has potential to be really good and as far as I know, lots more people are planning to attend. From the show organisers (Grosvenor Shows) point of view, if large numbers attend this will then attract more trade stands and year on year it will get better. In the meantime, let’s make it as good as we can as this will be better for everyone. For people that may need to travel further, the Premier Inn is walkable and if you need more entertainment, the Newark Air Museum is next to the showground For one, I am looking forward to it.1 point
