It's finally summer in Montana, USA and race season is in full swing. The car is working very well giving great results. The handling has really gotten dialed in and it allows me to get very close to the cones (the closer you are the better in almost all cases) which in turn makes the course shorter....so precision is key. Good fun. dave8 points

OK, it was hot sunshine ALL day long, great for Westfield driver's, rubbish for idiots like me that chose the wrong car, I am not bitter about it, no, I just need to go and kick the nearest meteorologist, let me at 'em. Andy and me in our dailies, umph. The lovely Westfield's Gary's beautiful MEV and another Westfield just to taunt me Into the paddocks 'Are we going up the Honey Pot' well it's an offer one can't refuse can one😲 Our Derby Notts leader tamed his driving style down for the lesser cars in the pack and we finally arrived at cake heaven Nothing ladylike about eating this I can promise you As the sun insisted on shining it was a shame to go home without passing through the Peak District and stopping at Quackers on the way Thanks guys for a marvellous day out and be sure not to mention who got the wrong car out this morning🤣4 points

Bit of a last minute meet as the forecast was a bit changeable..... We still managed eight cars! Julie and Glen came along in the MX5 plus Andy and then Tony also arrived in their dailies. Thankfully the forecast was wrong and it turned out a beautiful day and the car park was full of stunning motors. After a chat and a brew, we headed for the paddock.... Given the weather was stunning, I suggested we head to the Honey Pot Tea Rooms in Rosliston for lunch. It's a hidden gem with some amazing food and cakes on offer. After filling our faces with doorstop sandwiches or mahoosive slices of cake we headed off to catch the British GP! A big thanks to everyone that came along, hope you got home safe 👍4 points

Great drive around the Peaks yesterday. Up Winnats Pass and a stop for lunch at The Rambler Inn in Edale. A small issue going into the carpark when my alternator belt started squealing. Quick check and the the bolt for the alternator bracket attached to the engine was missing. After lunch Sue and myself had a walk down the road and I found the bolt and the washer. Bolt refitted and off to Bakewell for dessert. Great day helped by the fabulous weather and a bit of luck finding the bolt.3 points

Old news now I know, but this is an excellent in-depth article on the Titan and the man behind it. To say hubris and unheeded warnings is putting it mildly - the man was flying in the face of everything sound. Worth a read.1 point

We are heading to Curborough in the morning (for about 10am) for their anniversary sprint. Curborough itself is 60 years old (as a sprint course, obviously older as an RAF base) and Shenstone and District Car Club (who run Curborough) is 90 years old! The Owen Motor Club will be there with a classic car display as well as an Italian car meet. The cafe is open and spectators are free as usual 👍 Hope to see some of you there!1 point

It does get fluffy in more heavily protected areas. but where it's only a thin wipe, it's not so bad. I prefer fluff to rust!1 point

Still thinking of heading over today looks like the weather might clear up a little… 🏎️1 point

Keep the info coming, I'm sure I did this one last year but just had to role up, or something like it. Looks like our meet at Bird in Hand is going to be a low turnout today due to the weather. Real pain with plumbing, radiator systems never put isolation valves where you need them😪 If you would like, you can PM me your mobile number, then I can include you on our Thames Valley Whatsapp group.1 point

Thanks for all the comments I’ve a busy weekend coming up so doubt I’ll have much time to work on the car but I managed to find a quick half hour after work this evening to cut and fold the bonnet. the aluminium sheet was too large for my bender so I clamped the fold between two lengths of steel angle and then hammered the bed with a rubber mallet. the roll was likewise done on the lawn over a length of 4” drain pipe.1 point
