  2. Great drive around the Peaks yesterday. Up Winnats Pass and a stop for lunch at The Rambler Inn in Edale. A small issue going into the carpark when my alternator belt started squealing. Quick check and the the bolt for the alternator bracket attached to the engine was missing. After lunch Sue and myself had a walk down the road and I found the bolt and the washer. Bolt refitted and off to Bakewell for dessert. Great day helped by the fabulous weather and a bit of luck finding the bolt.

  6. Thanks for all the comments I’ve a busy weekend coming up so doubt I’ll have much time to work on the car but I managed to find a quick half hour after work this evening to cut and fold the bonnet. the aluminium sheet was too large for my bender so I clamped the fold between two lengths of steel angle and then hammered the bed with a rubber mallet. the roll was likewise done on the lawn over a length of 4” drain pipe.

  7. POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER FORECAST Meet at The Strines, Mortimer Road, S6 6JE, midday on Sunday 30th July. I am hoping that this fairly central location will attract AO's and members from a lot of different areas so we can have a good tyre kick by the display of cars. The fairly small car park in front of the pub has a big over spill car park behind it up the hill, as it is summer we will be better off parking up there. Bring your flags if you have one. Who is interested? who is coming?

  9. Would just to give a good review for a-plan insurance. Yesterday I took out insurance with them. I dealt with Ben who was very helpful and polite. The price was very good as always.

  25. I was actually largely dry - apart from the right shoulder which always catches the spray... Until I had to wait outside the child minder's for a quarter of an hour. During which it went from just "rain" to Noah casting off. I got home, got changed and got a second soaking with the dogs. Off to the pool now - good job I like water.

  27. This is back from when that overheat happened in 2015, things happened so fast, it was only about four or five minutes later I even thought to take a photo. You can see the cat inside is still red hot! It made it eight years and 30k miles, after that roasting alive.

  28. Apparently my Cat didn’t like seeing a series of consecutive 9k rpm overtakes, after a week of pass bashing, and decided to start failing big time. By the time it came to getting off the ferry, it was building so much back pressure, it just kept popping the link pipe and silencer off. Not knowing why, initially, as it came off on the ferry hatch so thinking it had just caught, we tried refitting but it didn’t last too long. After the second or third go, now convinced it was at least part blocked. Plan B was hatched, and the last ninety minutes or so of driving were done, with ahem, an open manifold. My ears have only just stopped ringing. To be fair to the car, the cat has done amazingly to survive this long. I was one of a tiny number of Westfield owners to have a faulty ecu loom. So way back in 2015 or so, whenever initial start up was, I had a weird misfire that ended up causing the whole cat to glow white hot, with the shape of the converter core itself, clearly visible through the near “transparent” stainless casing!

  31. Hello all. I have just bought my dream car and officially a Westfield owner. My own stormtrooper car just got home after a smiling drive. I am in Pembury, Kent so you might see me around if local. Cheers
