We made it just in time to wave at Glynn and Steve as they left All gone! Luckily we caught Andrew and had a lovely coffee and chat in Quackers before heading off to Eyam where the locals told us 'all about these sporty cars that had been parked in their sports field' looks like we missed the Lotus again! Thanks for organising Andrew and we will see you sooooooon x3 points

Set off at 7.30am under blue skys. No push bikes so lovely drive to Quackers although the clouds did roll in and there was a little dampness to overcome. @Glynn Walterscaught me up in Bakewell (I must have been napping) and we drove into the Quackers car park. Somewhat surprised by the sight that met us as we arrived. Must have been 150 lotus cars of all colours and models. Brilliant. Took a few photos before Gavin and Steve turned up making 4. @Rob Hunter Derby & Notts AOsent a note as someone in his group of 3 had an issue with an accelerator cable and they couldn’t make it. I sent some photos of the cars and cake to @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative so she made haste and just caught us before we left so that meant another coffee😁 We all went out separate ways, so I carried on to Tatenhill Airfield for an Air Ambulance fundraiser which was blinking cold but worthwhile cause. Nearly a 3 hour trip home arriving at 5pm. Lots of miles and smiles.3 points

Dorset area are having our regular display area representing the WSCC at this show. It is always a great weekend with a large number of vehicles of all types on display, from steam engines up to modern classics. Organised by the Crashbox and Classic Car Club, the Historic Vehicle Gathering is the largest car show in the South West and one of the largest in the country. Agree on some of those road surfaces! I was tiptoeing down one of the lanes heading back home - smooth tarmac is always preferred, especially after a full english breakfast 🤪1 point

I was with Paul and co. Nice day out, great cars, good mates but tbh bl**** awful road surfaces. I wish they'd spend some money on them! Weather pretty much stayed dry for us. Next one I hope to organise will be up into the Cotswolds, Tetbury, Cirencester, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water and hopefully Fish Hill. May give Clarkson's farm a drive-by buzz too 😂 I guarantee you better and faster roads next time lads!1 point

Great drive and meet up this morning. Nice run down to Cheddar Gorge and then on to Sweets Tea Rooms for a decent breakfast. Nice to see a real mix of kits on show The westies were joined on the run down by a GBS Zero and a V-Storm, and at Sweets we found a nice Marlin and a Spartan amongst others. I loved the interesting mirrors on the Spartan:1 point

A few more recent images, some of the Moon, Venus and a recent large Active Region on the Sun. This shows a feature called Schröter’s Valley and the bright crater is Aristarchus. This one below shows two features called the Lunar X and V, highlighted in the next image. This one is of Venus showing around half phase. Finally a very large and detailed Active Region on the Sun. It was big enough to show a a black dot when viewing the Sun with eclipse glasses. Through a decent solar scope it was amazing, about ten earth diameters across I think.1 point
