Hmmm confession and new commitment time. I fell off the wagon and put on about 9lbs, not sure why. Back on it now and am 18st and 5/8ths this morning, making progress. Still committed to the long term 14st goal. I have just started the 100 press ups a day charity challenge for GOSH. Doing them in 25s as I can’t do 100 in one go! 50 done today already 👍 Not sure if posting fund raising is ok on here so won’t for now. Really want to get my seat sorted, so roll on 17.5 stone!5 points

If life in general and reaching our goals in particular was just one smooth, straight road (with tarmac laid by the Germans) ... we'd all be sitting by the pool with Elon Musk wondering what the expression "set back" even meant. Somehow life ain't like that.2 points

A few more recent images, some of the Moon, Venus and a recent large Active Region on the Sun. This shows a feature called Schröter’s Valley and the bright crater is Aristarchus. This one below shows two features called the Lunar X and V, highlighted in the next image. This one is of Venus showing around half phase. Finally a very large and detailed Active Region on the Sun. It was big enough to show a a black dot when viewing the Sun with eclipse glasses. Through a decent solar scope it was amazing, about ten earth diameters across I think.2 points

I've organised a small blat to this event held by Apple County Kit Car Club tomorrow morning. So far 3 of us going but as well as posting it here it'll be posted on the KitNet forum. I'm leaving Yate BS37 at 8.00am, hopefully meeting a mate at Miety Stone Ltd around 8.45am if he survives the St Pauls Carnival party today and then we are rendezvousing with Rory from WSCC Bristol and Bath WhatsApp group at New Manor Farm shop at 9.00am then on via Cheddar Gorge where we will stop for pics then on to Sweets with an ETA before the 10.00am starting time. Good brekkies served there and given the weather there should be a few APKCC members there too. If anyone else wants to tag along just let me know. This is the full route atm https://maps.app.goo.gl/RjUbyaksWJMdj8DKA1 point

£10 donated Stu, go for it mate! Tbh I used to do quite a bit of bodybuilding and I know for a fact I couldn't even do 25 push ups in one go let alone 100 a day! You are doing well Stu, keep going please!1 point

Thanks, eventually I'll need it sent to an UK address if that's ok with you.1 point

Stu, I urge you to investigate and try intermittent fasting combined with a healthy keto diet, honestly the weight falls off mate! I'm down from 17½ to 15 and will be 14 stones odd for the first time in 25 years by the end of next week if not by Monday. Plenty on YouTube about it.1 point

It was good meeting up with everyone in the most spectacular scenery with absolutely glorious weather. Thanks to Gary and Scottish Westy and anyone else for organising the weekend. Hope everyone made it back home ok on the Sunday. I took the long way home, Kinlochewe, Torridon, around the coast road to Applecross and over to Loch Carron where I camped on Sunday night. Raining most of Monday so pootled around Plockton, Kyle of Lochalsh and short trip over the bridge to Sky. Headed east for better weather and camped just north of Fort Augustus by Loch Ness on Monday night. Forecast looked not too bad so I decided to go to Durness via Dingwall/Lairg/Altnaharra. A833 north from Drumnadrochit is a great bit of road. At Lairg the sky went black and with thunder all around I just managed to get the top on seconds before it absolutely deluged down. It took me 3-1/2 hours non stop to get to Durness through the heaviest rain I've ever encountered in the Westy, just as much water coming up from the semi-flooded roads and cars going past the over way as was coming from above. Incredibly I just had a few small leaks and 'ingresses' which I was able to mop while still going so remained dry in my cosy bubble (anyone with a full roof will know that sensation !). It was dry at Durness with a great sunset, and I also stayed Weds for the longest day (gave the car a rest day) before heading all down the west coast (again) to Ullapool, Garve, Inverness, over the Lecht and home. 1100 miles (ie over two NC500's) in 5 and a bit days driving. Couple of pics of clan McWesty at Kylesku.1 point

Why not? Others have, as long as it is for a really worthwhile charity. If you do set up a funding link I'm happy to chuck a tenner in.1 point

Apologies for the lack of updates but we have been far too much enjoying ourselves to find the time but hear is a brief snip of what’s been happening. What goes on in Austria, stays in Austria.1 point

Sorry I was so looking forward to this meet up but sprung a leak on petrol line, 10 bar leaks are not easy. Going to try to attend the Alton bash tomorrow.0 points
