I’ve listed an engine on eBay we’ve had for years as a spare which had been stripped ready for a ground up build for a Formula Monoposto car. The car sold years ago and my Dad is having a garage clear out. Advertised on eBay with no reserve https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155631592337?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=yf-p5BitQCu&sssrc=2051273&ssuid=yf-p5BitQCu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY It’s a 711M block which is 30 thou up. Comes with everything pictured including mains caps which are out of shot. Not sure what it’s worth, but would take £250 collected from Salisbury if anyone here is interested?2 points

Yes they meet as Classic Car Sundays 2 to 4:30pm, 1st Sunday in month held at Departure Lounge Cafe, Basingstoke Rd, Alton, GU34 4BH. When weathers good they get a large turn out, mostly on grass and on a slope so not good when wet. Season April to October, weather permitting. Must admit I questioned the address, but a good venue.2 points

1998 Westfield SEW Aerorace - road going competitive sprint, hillclimb and trackday car A road legal Lightweight Aerorace SEW chassis and an engine built with wide torque band and punchy top end. This car excels on the racetrack but is also a pleasure to hustle down the backroads. Having owning the car since 2018, this already championship winning vehicle has since helped me secure 1st in class victories in 2018,2020 and 2021 and as well as overall champion places of 2nd in 2018,2020 and 2021. Following a chassis up refresh in 2015 the car has been maintained and worked on by Northampton Motorsport. Over 15k has been spent on development in the few years to increase performance, reliability and make it suitable for large GP tracks such as Silverstone, Spa and the Nürburgring. The Newark show has been absent for a few years re surfacing last year, WSCC attended in 2022 and it was a good show, we will be back in attendance this year as a club, we want to set up our pitch with the WSCC arch and a Westfield Avenue with flags 🏳️🌈 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 Camping is available from 10am Friday 21st of July and a few of us will be going Friday to set up the club pitch. If you want to assist please shout up and it will be much appreciated, otherwise hopefully see lots of club members over the weekend. The Show organisers have confirmed as well as free entry to Kit, classic or sports car drivers you can also camp for free!!! (note passengers pay the daily rate for entry and camping). More details to follow of club pitch etc in due course 😎1 point

Last year’s Newark show was the first for years and was organised very late with little time to plan. Even then, the stands were much better than expected and turnout reasonable. It has potential to be really good and as far as I know, lots more people are planning to attend. From the show organisers (Grosvenor Shows) point of view, if large numbers attend this will then attract more trade stands and year on year it will get better. In the meantime, let’s make it as good as we can as this will be better for everyone. For people that may need to travel further, the Premier Inn is walkable and if you need more entertainment, the Newark Air Museum is next to the showground For one, I am looking forward to it.1 point

Never having been to the Newark show before, I'm pleased to hear it's better than Stoneleigh! I won't be staying over this time, but I do aim to bring the mini-me along for the day.1 point

If you're coming to Alton and want to explore some of the local twisties beware... the A32 and A272 now have average speed cameras and also noise cameras... A339 and 3349 still free of cameras unless plod set up a mobile trap1 point

Another possibility: https://www.brownsclassics.co.uk/meets-shows Generally the 1st Saturday of the month. I enjoy this one, only been a handful of times though. Any money made from the selling of burgers and drinks go to the Air Ambulance. I'm aiming to pop over this Saturday morning if anyone is about??1 point

Looks like it could be a good meet! We've done Podium Place before too (Bone Lane, Newbury) then from there to Bird In Hand1 point

I'm probably being a tad ambitious dragging a 10 year old around, but.....I may pop in via here Sunday morning all being well?? https://www.renegadebrewery.co.uk/event/wbcc-breakfast-july-meet/ Plenty of parking etc. Maybe this could be a possible future meeting point if new suggestions are being sought after?1 point

Funny enough, thats the one I had. I've reviewed ducting and angles and managed to get hold of a 55mm alloy version of the polo rad. Hopefully the 2 changes combined are enough. Also added an oil cooler to the cars setup.1 point

How many Westfield drivers does it take to change a switch? One to do it, one to tell him how and three to "give advice"1 point

Richard Burgess has kindly offered to step up to be a Joint Area Organiser with me for the Kent area. Rich does alot already with route planning and helping organising and things are growing fast in the South East! We have a few ideas to do a bit more than just the monthly breakfast meets in the future. So watch this space! If you have an suggestions, events, trips away, days out etc let us know…. Nice one Rich 👌1 point
