  8. On Thu 22nd June @Greenstreak-Andy D @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman @Stu Faulkner and I, commence a 12 day road trip to Austria and Italy. We've got a new hotel to try in Austria (previous one is great, but we don't really need a Spa/Boutique Hotel). The plan was to travel back from Verona by train. However two weeks after booking the Train. Urlaub Express kindly advised due to staff shortage and training issues, they can't safely load us in Verona and we've now got to drive back to Innsbruck. It would have been a circa 2hr drive to Verona, and is now 8hrs to Innsbruck, which kills our last day in Italy, however the show must go on. Hence we're not going to Verona but the trip name remains. Unlike previous trips, we've not doing a long 3 day drive home via France or Germany, we're taking the train in and out - Duesseldorf - Innsbruck and Innsbruck to Duesseldorf @Stu Faulkner has got twice the power as last year and @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman has added additional hardware to keep his silencer on We're all busy checking the cars overs, finalising waypoints and preparing to pack. Updates will follow..........................

  15. Sort of thread hijack, but relevant I feel.... I posted above that a well sorted x-flow is a pretty good match for more powerful cars.....a trip out over the weekend accompanied by a 420 Caterham gave some very complimentary feedback.....'what the devil have you got in that thing' for example.....! Just 'cos its old' doesn't mean its not fun and very quick.... Mart.

  19. I’m apparently meant to be painting the bedroom this week so that means less time to work on the cars. The postman did however deliver the flexi brake lines today so those have now been fitted. I need to pick up a bottle of brake fluid when I’m next out and then I can bleed the brakes. I seem to be having a nightmare time sorting a set of bike tyres. nowhere I contacted seems to be answering emails or returning phone messages. I’ve finally ordered a set online only to have the fitting cancelled an hour before as they hadn’t been delivered to them in time. I was promised a call back today with a revised fitting date but so far nothing 😡

  22. Thank you all for another great run through the Peaks 👍 Us Southerns have to leave early so it’s breakfast on the move 😋 but needs must ( Becky gets a lie in and I don’t have to make breakfast) Arrived at Quackers bang on time and the cars carried on coming. Unfortunately no pics here as Becky is nursing a bad back and after extracting her from the car it was off to get a cuppa and a few painkillers 🤒 Here’s a few taken along the way to Ilam The parking I agree did turn into a fiasco but the parking attendants instructions weren’t very clear !! But the photos do look nice . Lunch was lovely in the garden ( we were all hiding in the shade),but then Cake arrived at the party!!!! feel free to add your own thoughts/ caption well the forecast was rain late on so everyone started to move and we followed @Rob Hunter Derby & Notts AO& @HB46443 back home via the A515 Along the way it was another fuel stop for Hedley (boy the little fella can drink) and then we carried on our journey south, we bid farewell to him at Tamworth and finished our trip all alone 🙁 see you next time take care luv Andy & Becky

  23. What a stunning day! Thanks @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative , you ordered up some lovely weather! We started early near Derby, with Loris taking a few photos of the cars. I thought we had 6 cars for the convoy and we set off at 9am.... unfortunately we hadn't spotted Tim in the petrol station so he was playing catch up! 🤣 A nice leisurely drive up to Wirksworth to collect Rich and let Hedley refuel again and we were off with an 8 car convoy. Landing at Quackers we made it 16 cars! I'd never been to Ilam before, but what a stunning place, beautiful views on the drive in and a stunning hall and gardens. I sat at the back for what seems like an hour while the other drivers practiced their reversing skills.... it was like watching a carry on film 🤣🤣 The wait was worth it though 👏

  24. Thanks for the photo's Luke, hope the video worked out too👍 I have counted 16 cars meeting at Quackers cafe, here we are enjoying that lovely warm sunshine over breakfast and in the car park Not everyone had a conventional breakfast and some got 2 pieces of flapjack, lucky sod Some were leaving us here, other's were following for part of the journey and the rest had a couple of postcodes in their satnav in case they got lost. With quiet roads, we all kept together and drove through the beautiful Ilam Estate in convoy. Bakewell, if you have made it to here then you will only queue for a minute at the pedestrian crossing, couldn't believe it! At Ilam Hall we all showed that parking a Westfield in a straight line, perpendicular to the Hall, is an art, we got there in the end The view from the cars, looking out over the estate The view from the Manifold Tea Room Lunchtime, scones, cakes, there was even real food involved at some point Some had ice cream, even though they had cake for breakfast, watch out Andy, Andy and Andy The competition soon set the Andy's off eating cake, what do you reckon Westwood? a poor show? Thank you to everyone for coming, I hope you enjoyed your day as much as we have x A few last photo's of the Bill's leaving Quackers cafe @BillyPee and the best t-shirt as modelled by Thomas, the very important next generation of Westfield owners See you all next time xxx

  30. I'm hoping you'll be at the area meet on 9th July and we can certainly help you with routines. A useful service at Culham is a garage with self service ramps which would be good to view under the car without the risk of jacks/props and can be hired out with tools plus special equipment at an hourly rate. Additionally if it's the car I think it is the previous owner was fastidious and comprehensively rebuilt this quite recently. I also have a tame garage who helped me through my build although they are in Newbury a fair journey for you, but if you're having difficulties they might be useful. Other from these I have a low ramp at home which I am happy to entertain visitors and help with driveable repairs. Once I get the platform sorted out we have a WhatsApp group where Thames Valley members can chat and I will give you an invite to join. Jim

  39. I don't know how I feel about this yet, but needs must and we need to free up some money to use elsewhere. 2021 Westfield Westfield · Other_body_style · Driven 2,500 kilometres LIKE NEW! £17,995 happy to discuss offers This car was bought by my dad from the original builder on 80 miles, with my father only driving it 3 times! The car was built with entirely new parts including a new 2.0l crate Zetec blacktop engine. I'm located in Lincoln, and am a regular club attendee at local drive outs in the Peak district area, so a lot of the club management know this car well. 40. I honestly didn’t think this day would come, but it’s time for a change, so my beloved Westy is up for grabs. Built by myself in 2014 and registered in 2015 on Q with all the advantages that bestows, it has been extensively upgraded during the last 8 years, as many on here will no doubt know! The car has 15,920 miles on it, with 700 of those in June this year hooning around the highlands. It was MOT’d earlier this month with no advisories (expires June 2024). As well as several highland flings, the car has been around the Alps and completed more than a few trackdays, so it really is a fabulous all-rounder. This car has never been one for gentle Sunday drives to the cake shop and it is certainly not a “show car” - expect to see signs of use! However, it is an absolute joy to drive fast and although it will suit someone who is into blatting around twisty country lanes and trackdays, as I have proved, it is certainly a very capable ‘grand tourer’ if you are up for it. With 378bhp per tonne, it goes very well (555kg @ 209.7bhp) The current spec: Engine and Drivetrain: 2.0 litre Blacktop Zetec (new crate engine 2016) on throttle bodies with Dunnell ZRV Cams mapped to 180.9 bhp at the wheels (209.7bhp crank) by Daytuner in Harrogate, runs like an absolute dream!
