The monring started well, as I nipped into the local petrol station for fuel I found Gary already there in the MEV Rocket so we twinned it to Ashby. Ash and Ben were already there waiting with Ben's daughter and son in law in their Civic. A cheeky Starbucks coffee and we headed off. I'd had the head up on a back way to the meet that beats the traffic, so although it was a leisurely drive down (the joys of a black box in the Civic 😂) we beat the queues! As always, this meet is HUGE with literally hundreds of classics, modified and rare cars and bikes turning up. A small selection of the cars, a real petrolheads heaven!3 points

The response was to walk with me over to my car, stick your head in the footwell, your bum up in the air and say "ooh that's good Julie" 😉🤣😲2 points

Luke has been well trained hasn't he? I am not sure what happened right at the back but I had a train of cars behind me as far as my eye could see. We had 18 cars meeting at The Whitworth Centre for breakfast, as has been expertly photographed. Thank you to Rob for bringing so many people up from the Derby area and transporting John's brother in law. We had a special couple with us today all the way from Australia, @Johny boyand his sister and brother in law. We went on our travels and on some beautifully empty roads to land at Hulme End, the best place to go on a Bank Holiday. I was surprised to find some Westfield's already there, so thank you Ian for leading them. We were served and seated outside with great ease. Steve and Vicky's new MK caused a bit of a stir, another MX5 engine and watch out, turbo incoming soon! After a good tyre kick and refreshments it was time for some to head home but we went on for more cake. Steve got his google map out and we agreed a route that avoided any Bank Holiday traffic, this would take us to Marsh Farm cafe, Kelstedge. Steve and Vicky are also well trained Andy was busy getting his own back after Sue had nibbled his cake at Hulme End @aeg was missing out today as the Andrew's battled for the biggest slice there was only one winner today wasn't there @Andy Westwood still the Cake Meister hey! Sat outside the cafe parked at the cafe It's a good day when there are too many cars and people to get on camera, it's been fantastic to see you all, I hope you all enjoyed it and got home safely, thanks for coming. Next weekend we are at The National Kit Car Show, Malvern so see you there!2 points

For sale is my 2001 SEiW, fitted with a 1600cvh engine, twin weber 40's and 5 speed gearbox. MOT till May 2024 and mileage is just over 4000. Car has 4 x Toyo 888r's that have done about 500 miles since purchased from Westfield in May 2021. Last year the car had a new coil, plugs, HT leads and distributor caps. In 2021 it had new front brake calipers, rear brake shoes and master cylinders. I have owned the car for nine years but have hardly done any miles in it - last year was 120 miles between MOT's. As you can see from the photos (not sure why some are upside down, I can't work out how to correct them) the car needs a fair bit of tlc and refurbishment, mainly to the bodywork as the engine always runs well and sounds fantastic on the carbs. It would make a fantastic first Westfield on a budget or a great project car. I have tried to show the worst of it in the pictures as I don't want to waste anyone's time, including my own. Price is £5,000 and I am located near Sevenoaks in Kent. Mike 07737 391 081 If I can sort out the photo's I will add some more in.2 points

Hi I have a new motorbike being delivered tommorow and have been making a hole in the garage. I have had to move some of the MX5 bits that where left over from building the car, these being two doors and a boot lid. These, as well as a lot of other bits now have to go. At the momment they are in the garden but as my missus is a gardenist I have been told that they can not stay there. We tried to sell them and got zero interest from eBay and MX5 forums so they have to go. The two choices are to give them away to anyone that can collect as we do not have a vehicle to get them anywhere, or, put them out for the scrap man. I just wondered if anyone that uses an MX5 as a track day car or a race car would want anything. The parts are from a 1995 Mk1 in BRG. Mike.1 point

Worth getting, looks like a good Bosch crank sensor. Should be the same as yours Jay, if you have a block fitted sensor.1 point

A few of us are heading to the A47 Autojumble just west of Leicester tomorrow morning. We'll be meet at the Ashby de la Zouch Services (LE65 1JP) about 9am. We should be landing at the Autojumble about 945-1000 depending on traffic. For this that haven't been, it's part autojumble, part classic and performance car meet and its normally very popular. It's £5 on the gate for entry.1 point

Yup that first site is carp. It doesn’t even recognise some valid registration numbers, then fails my Honda. Yet if I use any of the government checkers, the other reg numbers are recognised, and the Honda is ULEZ compliant.1 point

If its of any use to someone , there will be an early ali pre lit at the Malvern show in the first stages of a modern restoration. Number 22 , it still carries its original brass chassis plate and a revised pedal assembly. To enable very much larger plates of meat!1 point

Installed a defibrillator for the local Scout group a little while ago where my daughters go. They were lucky to be gifted it so the very least I could do was to make a decent post and mounting plate, get it powder coated and sunk in the ground. Once installed I enrolled myself on the defibrillator course and hopefully I'll never need to use it! There was mention of a concrete pad for a bicycle parking area and as they know I have a cement mixer.....You know whats coming next!1 point
