Up for reluctant sale is my SEiW. Originally a 1800 Sport built by a friend of mine and his retired RAF engineer father. I have owned the car since Oct 2017, and in this time it has seen continual development, roughly in this order: Engine swap to 2.0l ST170 and fuel injection Suspension upgrades - poly bushed, widetrack, Protech shocks Brake upgrades - Willwood front calipers Engine bottom end rebuild, ported head, and custom Simpson Racing exhaust Half cage, Dash2 pro, half hood Tracksport Type9 swap As a result of young kids, and the dash2 upgrade project taking longer than expected, although it's been MOT'd every year the milage history looks a bit odd. It's on ~2,200 miles on the dash2, with about 12,000 miles overall, probably less. This is a very well sorted car, and perfect for touring, fast road, and some track use, truly a capable all-rounder. The ECU manages the ST170 lump's VCT properly (not just on/off), and as can be seen from the NMS dyno print out, torque kicks in very low down, and just stays there, not peaky at all. So instant throttle response, and loads of torque, best of all worlds. Car is located just south of Huntingdon, Cambs, and has a fresh MOT. I have a massive pile of paperwork to support all the work done. Full spec is below, I'm looking for £14,000. DM me if interested. Hello, After a couple of years of trouble-free motoring, I realised I missed having an automotive problem child so I've bought myself a 1999 (ish) SEW with a 1.8 zetec engine and a few gremlins. It's a bit tatty and worn in places but I'm smitten, even with the electrical issues that are giving me a headache. Best toy I've ever bought and a good reason to get out more. Katy2 points

Good meeting this morning with Breakfast outside in the sun. 7 cars made it out and had a run over to the NY500 in Pickering. Trying to avoid the A64 as much as possible, we only hit some traffic coming into Stamford Bridge. Had to stop along the way, as someone who shall remain nameless, had to stop at a pub for a wee. Des'n'Debs soon caught us up and we headed for Malton. Frank joined us at the NY500 with grandson Finn, ice cream was had and the air ambulance made an appearance. Fund raising, not working. A stop for fuel in Pickering and on to Helmsley, well 7 of us did. We left @Mr C, Andy filling up. Sorry, I'm sure you didn't need any! From Helmsley and on to York and then home.2 points

Here's a link to the website https://whitehorsesoapbox.co.uk/ Just to clarify the 18.4 per cent is the maximum gradient with 8.4 per cent being the average. What is nice about this event is that it is also a Engineering Fair aimed at getting youngsters into engineering, although having said that the largest marquee was the bar! Here are a few more photos of some of the other competitors. I like the use of the bicycle forks on the yellow car.2 points

Durr, dumber than a dumb thing I searched the garage. I searched the shed. I searched the house. I even searched the caravan even though I knew it couldn't be there. I didn't look in the Westfield cos' the poles don't fit in the boot, but the flag does, guess where I found the flag? yep the flag fits in the boot All is well now, see you all at Malvern, if I remember1 point

We should have a big presence there, make sure you come over and say hello.1 point

Brilliant. I'll be sure to come over and introducer myself and say hi. I can always ask a few questions then.1 point

That, I believe, is exactly what I've done. Having re-aligned some of the clutch bits, and removed a spacer, I reckon I've created too much clearance for the slave and pushed it clear off the end. 🤦🏼1 point

You're probably on it, but check the slave isn't over extending.... I managed to knacker a slave cylinder when replacing my clutch by trying to be clever and bleeding the system before bolting it in. A proper face palm moment 😂1 point

Thank you for the warm welcome and particularly @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative & @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO for the invitations out. As glorious a driving weekend as this is, family responsbilities are front and centre at the moment. I have managed to at least get out and verify that the shift lights seem to be in working order. A couple of technical issues seem to have reared their heads, so I'll be posting pleas for help and advice in the relevant areas of the forum soon enough, as well as for some advice on other things.1 point

In the very early days of Westfield ownership - 2003 - I had the pleasure of outdragging a moving car. Traffic lights with two approach lanes one of which is a right-turn lane into an industrial area and the other the only straight ahead lane. It is common practice for some drivers to use the right turn lane with its shorter or non-existent queue to do a traffic light GP start and beat the line of patient drivers across. If they fail they can meet a right turning driver waiting to turn right in the opposite direction and have to abort. On this occasion as it was a weekend the right turn lane was empty and I was first in the queue awaiting a green light to go. A Vauxhall Nova (car of choice for young boy racers in the early 00s) with a couple of said lads came bundling down the offside of the waiting cars and he thought his birthday had come as the lights changed before he needed to stop. I spotted him as he was a couple of cars' lengths form the line when the lights changed so quick start away was called for. His car never even drew level with mine and he was left in the dust! Childish? Mais oui! But great fun!1 point

The WSCC always had the biggest presence (by far) at Stoneleigh and I’d expect the same at Malvern this year 👍1 point

Not quite on topic, however, I'd just like to say a big thank you to Terry for all he has done, a stalwart and long time supporter of the Speed Series, enjoy your "retirement", you deserve it 👍1 point
