Hello, After a couple of years of trouble-free motoring, I realised I missed having an automotive problem child so I've bought myself a 1999 (ish) SEW with a 1.8 zetec engine and a few gremlins. It's a bit tatty and worn in places but I'm smitten, even with the electrical issues that are giving me a headache. Best toy I've ever bought and a good reason to get out more. Katy4 points

A stunning day for a car meet! Tony came along in the yellow Zetec and Steve brought along his new MK (yes, he's gone to the dark side! π). The MK is the factory demonstrator you will probably have seen on YouTube and is a well built car, all ready for a snail to be fitted too π Some gorgeous cars had come out to play in the sunshine, including a lovely Sebring parked amongst the classics. The Mini next to it is actually an Italian built Innocenti! Lovely 4.2 E-type Badged as a Morgan but I think it's a kit? A bit of class π Ford big block engined Corsair Stunning Karmann Ghia3 points

Fair play to your Daughter. My eldest done her Bronze weekend hike a fee weeks ago. Regarding you colleagues, a mate of mine who drinks silly amounts of lager and eats junk food started running in 2017 and does these 'ultra' type of events. The weekend before last he done 100miles in 23hr 20mins and then the following week he done his local park run before he came with me to the Westfield open day.... Some are bred differently π€¨. Weather is looking good thoughπ2 points

The WSCC always had the biggest presence (by far) at Stoneleigh and Iβd expect the same at Malvern this year π2 points

Hello all from nr. Glossop (on the Western edge of the Peak District), I feel extremely fortunate to this week realise a dream of 20+ years and finally step in to my own lightweight, having on Wednesday taken ownership of a car that may be familiar to the WSCC; It has a club keyring on each set of keys! I am completely new to performance car ownership so taking it steady but the former 2 owners have been extremely kind with their time and patient with my initial questions. Thanks Graham & Ian, should you read this. I've a lot of learning to do but am excited to have started this journey and will no doubt be actively bothering the forums soon rather than continuing my previous ~10 years of lurking. Cheers, Barry1 point

In the very early days of Westfield ownership - 2003 - I had the pleasure of outdragging a moving car. Traffic lights with two approach lanes one of which is a right-turn lane into an industrial area and the other the only straight ahead lane. It is common practice for some drivers to use the right turn lane with its shorter or non-existent queue to do a traffic light GP start and beat the line of patient drivers across. If they fail they can meet a right turning driver waiting to turn right in the opposite direction and have to abort. On this occasion as it was a weekend the right turn lane was empty and I was first in the queue awaiting a green light to go. A Vauxhall Nova (car of choice for young boy racers in the early 00s) with a couple of said lads came bundling down the offside of the waiting cars and he thought his birthday had come as the lights changed before he needed to stop. I spotted him as he was a couple of cars' lengths form the line when the lights changed so quick start away was called for. His car never even drew level with mine and he was left in the dust! Childish? Mais oui! But great fun!1 point

My youngest has just done her Bronze, so hopefully she'd get to Gold too. Yep I run to earn for my food and beer π No point having a light car, otherwise! I'd much prefer cold and wet to be honest! Heat's a killer, especially in a city environment!1 point

Thanks, Glen. Wes pent yesterday wandering round London Not the rest day, I'd wanted/needed, but it was my daughter's Duke of Edinburgh Gold presentation day, so I couldn't exactly skip that! I'm resting them today! It's looking warm tomorrow, so I'm glad the 1/2 starts at 8:30am. Some of my colleagues are running at 12 for the 10K!, with Mo Farah, (not to be confused with @Paul Aspden (MoFast) ) π One's incredibly talented and eats bacon butties, the other does a bit of running and eats veggie sausages!1 point

Hi Barry, Welcome to the club. I hope you are going to bring your lovely looking car to show to us at the next Peak District meet, we are full of advice on Westfield ownership but be warned, you may end up with a shopping list π We are on holiday at the moment and the next Peak District meet is on Bank Holiday Sunday, the 28th May at the Whitworth Centre, near Matlock, DE4 2EQ at 10am, please check in the events section before travelling just in case we get forecast any torrential rain and it gets changed. Look forward to meeting you and your car Julie1 point

Thatβs generally all Iβve seen on road going cars. It might be my memory playing tricks, but I do have a vague memory of seeing some of the race coverage photos of the original track cars with what looked like a rigid GRP tonneau cover, over the passenger side of the cockpit too. But I assume this was a separately available race part.1 point
