  1. A short run to Swettenham Arms and low and behold the car meets have started again! Someone has been busy with the polish over those cold winter nights! 🙂

  2. A big pile of metal arrived this morning so since it’s my day off it was straight to work assembling the chassis. To appease the neighbours I ordered all the tubes pre-cut to length so there was no cutting or grinding to worry about. Quite quickly the base came together and then very quickly the shape of the frame started to appear. I’d had a jig made to hold the suspension brackets in place so they were centred correctly and all parallel. After half a day it’s almost there but annoyingly I’ve now run out of gas so can’t do any more for a couple of days. the more observant will also notice that the metal for the wishbones is missing. I’ve raised this with the laser cutters as it was ordered and paid for but missing from the delivery.

  4. Carbon zk nose Put some graft into this in the last 48 hours but the tooling is now complete! These are a mega style nose which have a deeper lower section to accommodate a oil cooler these fit in an identical way to a standard Zk nose Normally sketch with me Prepreg so light and strong this one in the picture has been clear coated but available uncoated for the more serious peddler who is looking to save every gram .

  5. Hello All, May is approaching and we are now getting some Westfield weather, not sure what it's going to be like on Sunday though. The May Black Country meet is due to be held this Sunday. Hope to see a few of you there for a chin wag and tyre kick. Thanks Rhett 7pm, 7th May at the Dudley Arms, Himley. DY3 4LB.

  6. I've used www.myshowplates.com several times in the past. Perfectly good. And far easier to order on-line rather than have the hassle of going to a garage or motor factors.

  7. Would NEVER drive my Westfield without my lights on - its a must as far as I am concerned... The smaller percentage of drivers that do use their mirrors are looking for a 'normal' object in their mirrors - i.e another car, van or lorry - this is why they will often miss motorcycles or sevens, as it's a recognition thing apparently. Owning and riding a motorbike previously - although many years ago, is a handy tool to have - everyone else out there is an idiot and hasn't seen you! Mart

  9. In my experience, I do drive with the lights on, but where a 7 is most hidden is beside a car. I would play a game and pull up to someone to see how long it took to be seen. In most cases, too long if at all. Im mot an aggressive driver ever, but for seven survival, one shouldn't stay in one place. Be passing or falling back. The best way to be seen is to be darting around, constantly avoiding blind spots like they will be the death of you.

  10. Thanks, I was 31, and as you can see it the weather was a bit unpredictable on the Sunday, odd bit of drizzle now and again. This was my first event and I had a great time, learned a lot. Top tip don't make a timing strut out of ABS, it snapped off on my first run. Had 40 mins to fabricate a replacement using an alloy plaque from the gift shop, bolt, cable ties and duct tape. Big thanks to the marshals who lent me a drill and tin snips.

  13. Can I have your attention please? If you are going the the National Kit Car Show at Malvern and you can spare the club a short amount of time, please get in touch to offer your services. We need some extra volunteers, so if you enjoy reading this please reward me/the club by helping out. You will not only make new friends, you will make great memories too. Thank you x Back to today. Another thank you from me, to this man for all the hard work he put's in to bring everyone up from the Derby/Notts area. We are so glad @Rob Hunter Derby & Notts AO that 'you haven't cleaned your car in ages' 😲😛🤣 17 cars met at Quacker's and the feasting began... The bonnet's came off.... Some people sat in some funny places 😁 Next up, the driving began. Look carefully, the convoy goes back as far as the eye can see. The back roads were empty The sky was blue The villages were empty too The convoy stayed together right up to near the end when Glynn, Rob, Charlie and Timmy got stuck behind a tractor. Thankfully Glynn👍 knew where we were going and only a few minutes later they all arrived, in good time to clean the car too hey Rob!! At the Knockerdown @AndrewBClarke kept up the tradition and made us go to Adam's Happy Hen's on the way home for ice creams The star of the show today was not the cars though was it? It was this little cutey, Oliver, who was so very well behaved and made his dad proud. Well done Oliver! but stop looking longingly at that driver's seat, you are too young! Thank you so much everyone for coming today, including all the new guys and definitely all you oldies, you make our day XXX

  14. I always have mine on, despite being in a bright orange car with a lot of acreage in comparison with most here. I think the added chance of someone seeing a car that is so low and different compared to the shapes most people subconsciously identify as cars is always worth it.
