  2. Can I have your attention please? If you are going the the National Kit Car Show at Malvern and you can spare the club a short amount of time, please get in touch to offer your services. We need some extra volunteers, so if you enjoy reading this please reward me/the club by helping out. You will not only make new friends, you will make great memories too. Thank you x Back to today. Another thank you from me, to this man for all the hard work he put's in to bring everyone up from the Derby/Notts area. We are so glad @Rob Hunter Derby & Notts AO that 'you haven't cleaned your car in ages' 😲😛🤣 17 cars met at Quacker's and the feasting began... The bonnet's came off.... Some people sat in some funny places 😁 Next up, the driving began. Look carefully, the convoy goes back as far as the eye can see. The back roads were empty The sky was blue The villages were empty too The convoy stayed together right up to near the end when Glynn, Rob, Charlie and Timmy got stuck behind a tractor. Thankfully Glynn👍 knew where we were going and only a few minutes later they all arrived, in good time to clean the car too hey Rob!! At the Knockerdown @AndrewBClarke kept up the tradition and made us go to Adam's Happy Hen's on the way home for ice creams The star of the show today was not the cars though was it? It was this little cutey, Oliver, who was so very well behaved and made his dad proud. Well done Oliver! but stop looking longingly at that driver's seat, you are too young! Thank you so much everyone for coming today, including all the new guys and definitely all you oldies, you make our day XXX

  3. How to annoy the wife. Travelling a step to far on low fuel. Then the dreaded a few miles from home. Still in safe hands parked here! The fuel gauge has given its highest read since ownership too!

  5. Yep it’s great to be back out again 😀 just a couple of photos from me for now, I need to sort out my GoPro. When you lot turned left on the A515 we turned right, and I thought, our niece and her hubby moved house recently about half an hour away, so off we went, found her new (old farmhouse) and parked up next to her yellow skip, just thought you’d like to know that. 😉

  11. The time has come to sell my Westfield. I purchased the car back in 2009 and only covered about 2000 miles in that time. It has been garaged the whole time. Since buying, the only changes i have made are the seats and harnesses plus adding the rear stone guards and spare wheel. There is wet weather gear but will need a small mod to the boot box. I changed the boot box for the harnesses but never added the slots for the roof supports as i never intended to use it in bad weather. Its in good condition and ready to go. I took it for its MOT on 23rd April. It has extensive history including the photo's of it originally being built, all MOT certificates, SVA paperwork and piles of receipts. Its mostly a standard set up as only ever been used on the road. The car has had 3 previous owners. So spec is as follows: Westfield SEIW 2.0 Red Top Registered 2001 Engine: - Vauxhall XE 2000cc 16V Engine - 198bhp - Webcon Alpha Ignition Kit - Weber Twin 45's - K&N Air Filters - Rebuilt in 2006 - Forged pistons - QED Q42H Cams - SBD Breather Modification - Westfield Exhaust Gearbox: - 5-Spd Type 9 Gearbox Body: - Chrome Yellow, Good Condition Westfield SEiW - Wind Deflectors - Westfield Windscreen - Carbon Rear Arch Covers - Spare Wheel. Never Used Interior: - Cobra Seats - TRS 4 Point Harnesses - Heater - Hood with supports - Removable Doors - Black Carpets - Westfield Leather steering wheel Suspension, Wheels, Brakes: - 15x7 Pro Race 2 Wheels. No Scuffs - 195/50/15 R888 Tyres Good Condition - Westfield Standard Front And Rear Brakes - Westfield Standard Front And Rear Suspension 13500 miles 12 Months MOT Nicely spec'd Westfield Widebody, so anyone interested please get in touch. £10500 Regards Andy 07779 134389

  17. I’ve been away from competitive motorsports for far too long so for 2023 I’m making my long overdue return. The Westfield was the last car I raced and that was sold 3 years ago. Neither of the single seaters are quite close enough to finished for racing yet so a different plan and car is required for this year. It needs to be cheep and most importantly competitive, racing where there’s no silliness with expensive engines or won by the size of your chequebook. If I’m honest the search was quite brief and having wasted too many evenings in the past watching reruns of the red bull soapbox derby on the TV I had the urge to do something similar so in a moment of madness I’ve signed up and entered the Colchester soapbox rally. Race day is on 17th September so that gives me just 5months to design, build and test a car. https://incolchester.co.uk/soapbox-rally So far I have no team, and only some CAD sketches and a pile of old moped parts. What can possibly go wrong! Wish me luck! Mods: if you think this thread would be better in “Speed series Hillclimbing and racing” feel free to move it 😄

  31. Many of you will know me as I have been in the club over 30 years and previously exhibited at Stoneleigh and enter the WSCC Speed series and have built and still own Westfields. But a quick intro about us. First thing is we are not the factory but are the largest stockist of car seats in the UK and probably the world. We are based in Edenbridge Kent. We have a small showroom where you can try seats. It all came about when I bought a second hand sport 2000S car around 2008 that was fitted with Westfield race seats. Being a well built lad who likes his ice creams I didn't really fit. A trip to Autosport the next January and I came across Tillett. Long story short but a B5 was perfect for me but nobody carried stock and the factory lead time then was about 8 weeks. So I became a stocking reseller and a few months later took delivery of about 50 seats. It's not our main business which is air conditioning but it is a fun sideline and introduces me to some great people and projects. And that is our model - to sell from stock which seems quite unusual in the motorsport world. The range of seats has expanded including the FIA seats and so has our stock holding. Lead times vary from 8 weeks to over 30 weeks depending upon the model and time of year. We sell about 200 - 250 seats a year and ship all around the world as well. We offer a special discount to WSCC members only given our background. Tillett are not cheap but they are the best shell seat in terms of shape and rigidity. The seat is your contact point with the car so must be correct. Feel free to call us if you need any advice whether for Westfield or any other car you may own. By appointment you are welcome to pop in and try the seats too. David

  32. I purchased the car from David and Jenny up in Glasgow. David did a fantastic job of building the car and passed onto me a detailed folder with pictures showing the build. (Folder and manual included) I collected the car with less than 300 miles on the clock and drove it down the motorway until south of Manchester where I detoured the long way through the Peak District and home to Leicester without an issue. I have owned this car for 7 years and would rather not see it go, I simply have to keep the practical stuff and let this one go, I need the internal storage for another use. The car was built with new parts and a crate 2.0 Zetec engine. Chrome yellow body with boot, the boot is very useful and holds far more than you would think. Carbon effect front mud guards and rear arch stone guards. Lowered floors. Fully carpeted. Heated windscreen. Sports seats with yellow piping. Sparco detachable steering wheel fitted to a proper motor sport Lifeline quick release. Great for access and security. Heater a full gauge set. Not shown in the pictures is the unfitted unused full weather gear/roof and fitting kit. Side doors with windows. Perspex side wind deflectors. 2.0 Zetec crate engine. ARP con rod bolts fitted. Omex throttle bodies and Omex 600 ecu this usually produces around 170BHP. Ecu plug in cable and software included. Gearbox is a heavy-duty type 9 box built by Firstmotion with a long ratio 1st gear and bespoke closer ratios. Fitted with an alloy bell housing also. https://www.firstmotion.co.uk/caterham-and-westfield-close-ratio-gearbox/ TTV Racing light weight flywheel fitted with an uprated AP clutch. (I was going to supercharge so the clutch is good for lots more power). http://ttvracing.com/products/?manufacturers=ford&engine=ford-zetec&type=flywheels kit spares light weight alternator kit with the Denso DAN968 40Amp alternator, this is the expensive and much lighter than the original. Also fitted, the kit spares underdrive light weight water pump pulley and lighter 5 rib drive belt. At the high RPMs seen during enthusiastic driving or on the track the water pump pulley is spun at such a speed that it can cause fluid cavitation to occur at the pump impeller. This can cause several issues; Decreased flow, Excessive vibration – leading to premature seal/bearing failure, Damage to the pump impeller blades and Damage to pump housing. All these lead to inefficient cooling in the water system or even engine failure. https://kitspares.co.uk/collections/all/products/alternator-kit-zetec Oil catch tank with modified crankcase breather pipe routing. Carbon exhaust silencer fitted as per the pictures and Standard Westfield stainless exhaust silencer with a catalyst for easy mots. The brakes are Westfield Hispec upgraded brakes front and rear in black with the Westfield Logo. The front brake pads are Mintex 1144 50mm depth pads, can be fitted with a small 40mm deep pad. The pads have been correctly fitted so are quiet in use. 15" Team dynamics wheels x4 fitted with Toyo 888R GG compound tyres, matching spare but fitted with a Toyo T1R tyre which is as new. MOT until July 2023 Miles 8500 Price is £15,499 Mike 07903 825620 The car is in great condition, I have never washed it as it hasn't got dirty other than dust and flys!! Brand NEW unfitted parts available at additional cost to the purchaser. The latest third generation full front wide track kit including the bush upgrade. A front and rear set of Nitron shock absorbers with springs to suit the car. Mick made footwell carbon chassis rail covers.

  33. I've spent 8 hours over the last 3 days detailing the boot and interior of my old XK after some toerag youth threw a full bottle of beer through the rear window just over a week ago. Glass and beer everywhere. It looks great now but was a lot of work. I'm now too tired to drive my Westie 😂 Tomorrow is another day though! 👍
