  1. A slightly damp trip out to Bicester Heritage, but I think it just makes the orange a little more ORANGE.

  3. Thanks to all who came along for the first meet despite the awful weather! 11 of us, fantastic turn out. Hopefully the start of a regular monthly meet, which going forward will be on the last Sunday of every month. (location to be decided in the next couple of weeks)

  4. Our first Kent area meet up today was a tad on the Wet side! Tin tops all round, but 11 of us for a first one was great to see. Roll on summer….!

  5. Many thanks for your kind comments- and I really appreciate all the support I've received from all who attended my first effort as AO. I've taken on board your comments and will be in touch soon with details of our next get together. Some pics to follow.

  6. It was dry when we left home, but soon changed and we got a little damp on the way there. We were also a bit late I think, due to the clocks changing, as it was fairly quiet when we arrived at 10.45. Still, there were some interesting vehicles to see, and a lot of people interested in the XI. One guy was so interested that he nearly got run over as he turned round at the sound of the engine. The turning circle, or lack there of, also proved a surprise to some. People were trying to be helpful and stopping to let us maneuver, only to need to step even further back.

  7. Some great progress today. I’ve got all the main machining done to create the shape, plus four straps and their anchor points. Pretty pleased with it I must confess. The sewing is a bit rough in places but actually it all looks fine. I will cut a rear window in as the proper ones have, and add angled straps as well. Then some finishing edging to make it look a bit more professional. I may also add easy access zips as it is a bit tricky getting in as it is. I took it out for a run this afternoon and it’s great! It might be my imagination but it seems to help the aerodynamics a bit so it feels a bit quicker accelerating above sixty odd. It felt very solid though, the roof bars really help, as does the single hoop which I’ve used; this adds height and tensions the hood really well so there is no flapping at all.

  10. You want the universal refills with the bayonet style metal clip on the end to secure them into the bade holder on the wiper arm. They will be much longer than needed, but can just be cut down to match the old ones. (In fact, many of us manage to get two blades out of one refill! The blade itself is a direct fit in the end of the blade holder Westfield uses, but as standard, the bayonet clip doesn't quite fit right! Here's a view of the clip fully home in the end of the holder And from the side, As you can see above, there are little triangular wedge shaped blades on the clip, that pop out when the clip is pushed home, to secure the blade in place. As standard, the metal part of the holder, arrowed in orange below, is just a mm or two, to long to let the prongs of the clip slay out and lock. All you have to do is file the metal of the blade holder down a little bit shorter, either side, where I've indicated in green below, just enough for the clip to lock in and hold. (it's a five minute job.) Once this has been done, that's it, (universal) standard refills, cut to length can be bought anywhere, as needed.

  20. I can also really recommend putting rainx on your screen will make the world of difference and will also last. I find will rainx applied I usually and better off not using wipers unless the heavens are completely open

  21. Would it be easier to just get someone to weld on the end piece then rather than replace the column? I did that and it only cost a tenner from a welder to do.

  22. I did send two separate emails on this to anyone in the Speed Series whose club membership would run out mid-season. I explained that Speed Series competitors had to be a club member for the entire season, which was also explained at point of signing up. The invoice, which is labelled “WSCC Membership Extension To 30/11”, will extend your club membership until end of November and in future, your membership renewal date will be end of November as well. (It currently runs out on 28 May.) This just simplifies things for Speed Series competitors and ensures your eligibility to compete and score championship points. I suggest you check the inbox of your club registered email address, as well as your spam filter just in case it got a bit aggressive. Thanks in advance for your help and good luck this season! 😊👍
