  4. Went once for a BTCC meet back in the early noughties and haven't been back since despite it being my closest track! Unless they have changed it, the only place worth watching is the final chicane. Everywhere else you're quite a long from the track and at those speeds, your view looks more like a Jackson Pollock smear than cars going past. Spend the ticket money on getting a Now TV sports pass, some beer and burgers then watch the TV from the end of the garden whilst bbq-ing... Sorry

  5. There are grass banks around North/West of the circuit, we normally watch from close to Campbell/Cobb, it's a 5-10 mins walk to the paddock and for BTCC there's usually a large screen on the inside of the circuit there on race days.

  6. Since the show season is starting to kick off, I'll be attending the March Assembly at Bicester Heritage Centre on Sunday 26th in the XI. You'll need a ticket to get in, they're £5 per person. Under 15s are free. Whilst I've not been to an Assembly before, they're apparently like the bigger quarterly Scrambles but with the dial turned down to 7, rather than up to 11! As this one is motorsport based, I'm hopeful there will be some interesting machinery on show. Click me for more info I'm happy to sort a location for a bit of a run in, should there be sufficient interest. If not, sorting out a time to meet onsite for a brew would be just as good.

  7. Thanks for the comments all. Much appreciated. We will indeed go have a look for ourselves and now have a good idea where to head for.

  8. Living in the SW it’s our nearest circuit for BTCC. Each to his own, but as Jon say’s we find the banking at Campbell/Cobb provides a good vantage point. Goes without saying you can’t get the atmosphere particularly the true sound of the cars on TV IMHO. Looking forward to a weekend visit for the Classic Sports Car Club meeting beginning of May. My respectful suggestion would be to go and see for yourself, just be aware it will be very busy BTCC weekend!

  9. I've always sat on the bank to view the right then left hand (Campbell and Cobbs). To be honest we've all painted a terrible picture in your head so it can't get no worse and to be fair I've not been for years. When something is on your doorstep you tend not to go often......at least that's how it is for me. You lad lives locally now so go make a day off it.

  11. I would concur with the venerable Blatman ................ been once, never again. Possibly one of the worst circuits for spectating

  12. @Blatmanpretty much summed it up!!! It's a circuit very close to me and in fact you can hear the action from my brothers garden but we hardly go. I do believe they have opened a new area for viewing so by all means take a look but I'm certain you still won't be walking the entire perimeter.

  13. ECU is a Quantum mapped MBE rather than DTA I’d said in the listing above.

  15. A very cold morning at Donington to watch the 750MC pre-season test/track day. We were glad of a hot cuppa or two at Garage 39! Loads of Locosts on track, amazing how quick they are with the little 1.3 crossflows screaming away, all about big corner speeds (and big cahoonas 😂). Some other interesting race cars also in attendance... A nice surprise was seeing the MK Sportscar guys with RLM testing a load of the new Cup 200's for the upcoming season. We took the opportunity to have good look round the cars, MK have definitely taken a big step forward on fit and finish despite the Cup 200 being for track only. They also seem very well sorted, planted through the bends and very quick on the straights 👍

  16. All (or virtually all) are downloadable, but the small number of extra we have printed each quarter are used in membership packs etc. We do sometimes have some left over though the recent postal issues have seen us use every spare we had. If there's a specific edition you're after, you could try speaking to @Mark Redpath - WSCC Membership Secretary who has what spares we do have. But we just don't have the facility to keep loads, so don't hold your breath. (It's why we do the electronic versions!)
