  1. Take a dog... Nobody expects a dog owner to be a predator! ...I haven't got a dog... 'Dogging isn't walking the hound I discover...

  2. Isn't (or, wasn't) Neptune in the mix as well? Quite close to the moon so it was blocked out by the moons reflection but I think it was there. There's been a great view of Orion over the last few days. Too much light pollution in London to see much detail elsewhere though. If it's clear tonight I might take a trip to a dark, quiet hill not too far away and see what I can see, Aurora Borealis-wise at least. Wandering around in the dark with a pair of binoculars can be a risky undertaking round here

  3. Just a recommendation. (Nothing to do with me) but Martyn and Rob at R and M metal polishing in Sandwich Kent did a fantastic job at Re-Chroming Dads wishbones. I thought for a pretty good price too. (£50 a side) just incase your chrome is looking a bit tired! … https://www.metalpolishingkent.co.uk

  5. A couple of Oxfordshire Area members went along to the Bicester Scramblers' Ford Assembly yesterday morning. Lue Howard took his Ford Zetec and Type 9 gearbox in his Westfied SEi and Simon Marks his Ford YB turbo and T5 gearbox in it's traditional home! Both cars were admired and we had enjoyable chats with other visitors.

  6. Hi All! Assuming the weather gods are kind, we are planning to attend the Huggys Speedshop Old Timers meet at Mallory Park (LE9 7QE) this Saturday 4th March at 10am. We will do a pre meet at the Ashby de la Zouch Services (by the KFC and Starbucks) at about 900-915am for a chat and a coffee before a 930 depart and run down the B roads to Mallory. Of course, if you are not coming past Ashby we can meet you at Huggys 👍 Huggys will have the cafe open for food and drink.

  9. Good evening all. I am about to book on to my first track day at Lydden Hill in April as it’s local to me and Iam itching to have a go. Dom in his MK Indy will be joining me. Hopefully a few other kits may also decide to join in too It’s a great little circuit with a cafe and free spectating too, priced at £130 for the day, full details on the Lydden Hill website link below… https://lyddenhill.co.uk/events/car-trackday-21/ Or even like I did a few times last year whilst building up the courage to have a go, just pop along and spectate. A good excuse for a bacon bap and a coffee run out ☀️ 🏎️ 🏁 Ben

  11. You've beaten me to it! As we only have a Jap bar on our car, I've been meaning to make a half-hood that uses the frame of the full hood (which we use alot). I'm an industrial textile fabricator (canvas-pvc worker/upholsterer/trimmer) by trade, but like a plumber's toilet or a mechanic's car, I just haven't got round to it!

  12. Jupiter and Venus are putting on a fine show at the moment though so I’ve been consoling myself with them. Wednesday was lovely, both near the crescent Moon. On 1st they will be very close together (0.7 degrees). Last night they were three degrees apart, looked more.

  13. I have a strong feeling I'll be selling mine this year. It's in perfect condition and very low miles, so hopefully I'll get a half-decent price for it when the time comes. No idea what to replace it with though. Vickie fancies the Audi E-Tron GT. Gulp. Fault-wise, the only thing I've had is failed door handle LEDs - apparently they are pretty much guaranteed to fail on any model that has them. I've done both nearside ones so far. Easy enough job, just a bit fiddly. MB quoted £300 labour to replace 1. I politely declined....

  16. In my defence @AndrewBClarke I was parking where the marshall told me to, now where is that photo of the blonde bird in your car at Quackers😉😁 Sorry that Steve and Rob couldn't face the cold missed out today and hope to see you when it warms up next time🤩 Andrew and us could hear them before we saw them, Glynn and Dave enjoying the entrance to Quackers cafe Quackers car park We were delighted to be joined in the cafe by Luke As we chatted I changed the route to better suit the company and road conditions, which also meant the refreshment stop was changed too (very, very sorry that I forgot to tell you Chris). So we all booked in at iGNiTiON, our new cars and coffee venue. iGNiTiON cafe Chris arrived shortly after in his very shiny, newly MOT'd car that gleamed in the sunshine and looked great, that red polishes up well. Shorts! oooooo Our route today had been magnificent, the roads were quiet and dry with excellent views all the way. Having only a small convoy meant I was able to enjoy it more too and as the day came to an end, the sun shone more so Glen and I snook back into the Peak District, oh the joy of Westfielding. @Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO I hope it warms up here in Britain before you two come home It has been a super day out, thank you for coming everyone and we will see you next time.

  17. Hi all, what’s the scores on the doors for the 25th. Just want to make sure I’ve been included. Would be good to get an active group going. Well done Baz for starting this.
