  1. This. Take receipts showing you had the ceramic coating done and your service work order showing “do not wash”. If you do not get satisfaction, tell them your next step will be contacting Toyota (GB) Ltd, Great Burgh, Burgh Heath, Surrey KT18 5UX, specifically Mr Agustin Martin, Managing Director by email at agustin.martin@tgb.toyota.co.uk I have found this is usually sufficient but if not, email the MD with full details, including naming the people you encountered at the dealership. They just looooovvvvve getting those emails.

  2. Jobs done. DRLs look great and work well. Got them from Original Cafe Racer ebay shop. Lamp bowls from Car Builder Solutions. Simple enough to connect to the loom supplied with the new lamp bowls, and plenty of length to play with to the original connector. Original bracket cleaned up and minus the SVA cover, looks well too. @carbon-nv carbon wing mirror covers fit a treat. Nice and easy with some dabs of black Sikaflex 291i and then once that had gone off, a bead around the top edge to tidy up. Now to put some more miles on her!

  4. My parcel arrived yesterday having been impressed by seeing Hedley’s videos and wanting to capture some of my own. This neat little thing arrived and looks just the job. I just need a decent sized MicroSD card now, plus I’m waiting to the mounting bracket for the roll bar. As soon as I’ve recovered from this ‘orrible chest infection I shall be out giving it a go! If there is no other similar thread, feel free to post up whatever has arrived for your Westie upgrades or projects. ‘Postie’ can be in the broadest sense ie also including collecting or suspicious looking meet ups in Motorway service car parks (etc etc) to exchange strange shaped objects in brown paper bags 😉.

  6. I'd agree, a nicely worded email to the MD/CEO usually works a treat. I had problems a few years ago sourcing a towbar on an Infiniti QX70 (the was car rated to tow 2.2 tonnes but weirdly every towbar in the UK was only rated to 1.8 tonnes 🤷‍♂️). While the UK dealers were really helpful they couldn't sort the problem... A message to the CEO via LinkedIn and he had the last one in Europe one flown next day from Germany and fitted for free!

  7. It’s actually the bonnet @Andrzej. It’s the only space left in the garage when the car is in there 😉

  8. I have been working from my garden home office for 2 years now. TP link extender initially worked ok, but uploads were slow. Kids were constantly nagging the internet is cr*p. After consulting @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO and @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman i invested in a Deco mesh system, 4 units. Not had an issue and seems more stable to extender. Kids have gone quiet too! Andy

  15. First start of the year whilst I tidy the garage! Not overly happy with the hood fit, so I think a little tinkering with the frame is in order.

  16. @TableLeg@Quinten You have to take some brave-pills before cutting away the slats! As you've mentioned in your DM, the slats come right up to the leading edge, all that has to be cut away so that there is no 'return' on the leading edge. I masked out where I wanted to cut to, and did it with a dremel with cutting discs, and hand files. The thickness of the nosecone GRP is now the return. The fibreglass is tinted black same as the gelcoat, so the raw edge is also black - I just filed, sanded and polished it to sort of match the gelcoat next to it. Black shows all imperfections like dogs balls, but a blind man would be rapt to see it - you should get away with it better than me if your cars are another colour. For lighter colours, I would be inclined to give the inside of the nose cone a shot-coat of black rattle-can to make it all dark and mysterious behind the grill when all done (hide the sins). The top edge was cut straight across, rather than follow the contour of the shallow shark-snout - this made mounting the grill easier. The grill is just bonded to the inside with black CT-1 adhesive sealant, with a couple of little bent alloy tabs to help it stay there. The crack in the gelcoat is from the original damage by the previous owner - not from cutting out the grill. It can't be seen til you lie on the ground with a camera flash and look up!

  18. Previous owner of mine had driven too far in to his garage and cracked one of the slats in our V8 nosecone, so I cut out all the slats and added some plastic 'audi' mesh.
