  2. So first proper run out of the new year this morning with Ronald and his newly acquired Robin Hood over to Brodie country fayre for breakfast and to meet up with Barry in his newly acquired 265 cup Elise . A bit fresh and damp underfoot, so a steady run along the main roads to Elgin and onto Brodie, where coffee and a full breakfast were consumed, then with Barry’s wife shopping the lads went out and talked cars for a bit . Then Ronald and myself headed over the Dava moor with some snowy and icy roads that concentrated the mind and a wee snow shower just to cheer us up, fuelled up we headed home up speyside, 4 1/2 hours out with great company and fantastic roads , there really is great fun to be had in the winter months.

  3. Well that was another adventure. When I spoke to the pub on Thursday to verify that they were open for breakfast on Sunday morning, I was told that they were open from 10. Getting there at quarter to, I found the car park gate closed. I saw someone in the car park and asked what time they open and was told that they decided on Saturday not to open! Never mind, we managed to find another pub a mile up the road open. Good to meet up after Christmas, even if we only had the 1 Westfield, thanks @Tony R for coming in the V8, nice to meet you.

  4. Took the opportunity of some dry weather to wash the car - I was tempted to take it out for another run, but need to get on with those winter jobs, starting with improving the fan effectiveness by sealing the gap between the fan bracket and radiator. The results of Friday's run out...

  7. I can’t fault them. Prices are probably double what cut-etc would charge for the same but the quality is spot on and most stuff arrives within about a week.I’ve used them for folding on a few parts as well as the laser cutting.

  8. Wow, I'm surprised he's coming out in these tough economic times, he'll get even less for his Fiver now!

  9. And it’s a date that should fall within most countries historic rules, for the future, should you ever want to sell. It will also fit nicely in Westfield Sportscars Ltd timeline, so again, won’t raise red flags.

  10. If you need a date , go with Jan 1988, that is when Westfield had to stop calling them 7's.

  11. This build was completed just 2 years ago to a high standard. It has a huge build file from the builder and I have been in contact with the builder. He explained that he prefers the build process to using them, hence he sold it soon after IVA and registration. The next owner spent some money on the car converting it to more of a road spec. He put a full screen in, a header, added carpets and upgraded the seats. The next owner seems to have basically put new team dynamics wheels and tyres on then parked it in a dehumidifier garage and never used it. It's now on about 700 miles and I've done 300 of those in the last 6 months. I've had it mapped on a dyno by Page Motorsport it is putting out a healthy 163hp, is very smooth and drivable throughout the whole rev range. I have contacted who I believe are the engine builders and this is the potential spec of the engine: NB: The engine management is OMEX, wasted spark ign and Hayabusa throttle bodies. The dyno session confirms it has cams in it as the tuner said that it would not be making the power it does on standard cams. There may be more in it too with the right exhaust as the power tails off at around 6k revs and the engine could be good for another 1500 revs. We focused on a usable road tune, concentrated on good usable torque and nice transitions on and off the throttle. It now drives really nice and since it’s an early engine it does not need cats so you get the added benefit of the pops and bangs on the overrun. Some highlights: AVO height and damping adjustable shocks all round Polly bushed all round and rose jointed rear suspension Green stuff pads Large radiator Full sized battery Registered on 20 plate with V5 in my name The rest of the car is really nice, some nice quality parts used throughout and the majority are new. I'm looking to get my money back so want £15,000 for it. Mob: 07397187622 Any questions, get in touch. Thanks Dave

  12. As others have said, TP Link homeplugs. One next to the router, and a wifi one in the office. Note the wifi ones also have RJ45 sockets on them so you get both wired and wireless in the office. I've used them for over a decade in some semi-professional scenarios and they work fine. I have three right now distributing an IP phone system at my parents house and although they are a few years old they are rock solid. I think I've had to reboot one of them in the last year. https://www.amazon.co.uk/TL-WPA4220KIT-Powerline-Broadband-Configuration-UK/dp/B01LXOZ4EN/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1C8H7D3ABA4WA&keywords=tp+link+homeplug&qid=1673302475&sprefix=tp+link+home%2Caps%2C67&sr=8-2 That's pretty much all you need. The small one next to the router, the large one in the office and as long as they can see each other over the mains, you're golden. Mine provide a solid 50Mb/s over an electrical system that is coming up for 40/50 years old. Newer systems may get closer to the full broadband speed but I'd be wary of claims of high speed when we start to look at full fibre speeds. For that sort of "high" speed pulling cables is definitely worth the extra effort, more for reliability and removing failure points as much as getting the fuill connection speed.
