Fantastic, just what was needed, roaring engines, a great day out and it stayed dry all day. We have been busy making a start on next year's calendar by having a photo shoot and @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman you are gonna regret not risking a bit of E10, the route was fab, the food and the company matched, AWESOME. We met at Quacker's and it seems everyone else had a lie in, the place was empty Still in 'naughty elf' mode, steering wheels went missing and revenge was sought with refrigerated hats, I would never have found it in there! Off we went on our route, Billy knows the roads so he came in the Tesla without hindering the convoy. Rob and Hedley diverted on our apex and carried on South for some dental work, ouch. The roads were salt free, quiet, mostly dry and the air was clear making for good views in the winter sunshine, oooo it felt good to be out. Sludge and cow detritus was in plentiful supply and there were some very interesting potholes that had appeared over the recent cold spell, there was no other nice cars to be seen. We soon arrived at The New Bath Hotel, Matlock Bath, where Andy (cake meister) and Sue were waiting for us, nice and warm in the tin top. Ian still can't park a car between 2 white lines ๐ I had a table booked, the food and service were excellent I had a warmed beef ciabatta with fried onion and triple cooked chips, it tasted as good as it looks, yummy The Andrew's are always naughty and they steal my camera while I am fixing my lippie After lunch we fetched the cars to the front of the hotel for some photo's, out came the staff, some customer's too and everyone loved it. Ian suggested that a drone would have been useful today, I agreed. Thankfully he was wearing jeans and not the usual shorts, winter has finally arrived in Ian's World. Thanks everyone for a great day out, the next event is New Year's Day at Carsington Water for breakfast with the Burton Car Club, if it's raining we will be in the MX5, if it's not too bad we will be in the Westfield. Happy New Year and thank you for supporting the Peak District Area in 2022, love from Glen and Julie (Nora.B) xxxXXXX5 points

You do like a laugh donโt you! . The new guys are most excited to see where they can take the new brand. I know youโre not numb Mr C by any stretch of the imagination. I also assume you, like most of us, will have seen the pictures of the factory move, and the start of the set up of the new parts department, all over the course of the last few weeks and months. So Iโm pretty sure you, like anyone with half a brain, will know that it was never likely to be fully open again in 2022, and that the start of 2023 was most likely to be the goal, which it is. January, hopefully early, Jan, but given all the disruption with carriers etc, late Jan may be more achievable, will see things like the parts shop back open. And as for daft, baiting posts like this, you do know youโre supposed to do the whole bah humbug thing before a Christmas, donโt you?3 points

I had trouble getting normal E5 on the way home. Had no option so had to put in a โget you homeโ splash of E10 Next fuel crisis on the way - only takes the press to suspect something and there will be panic buying followed by shortages.2 points

Cracking day out, thanks @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative ! @HB46443 and I started early, meeting up just before 9am south of Derby. What a beautiful sky! The roads were a bit moist after the overnight rain, so it was a fairly steady but fun drive up through the B roads, landing at Quackers about 10am to meet the rest of the gang. Hedley had a curfew (the dreaded dentist!) so we tagged onto the convoy to Newhaven where we left everyone and pulled into the petrol station.... Hedley needed fuel again as superchargers make for thirsty beasts ๐ After filling up, the supercharged beast refused to start ๐คฆโโ๏ธ. Thankfully we had some volunteers (thanks you whoever you were!) to help me push the car and we got her started again..... sadly not for long! Almost at Ashbourne, Hedley had disappeared from my mirrors! Given he hasn't had the best of luck (nobody mention tractors ๐) I quickly doubled back to retrace my steps and try to find him.... A few miles up the road I discovered a red Westfield parked up in a small farm entrance with the bonnet off. The car had spluttered to a stop.... We tried my jump pack (always a good thing to carry) but to no avail as the battery was down to just 11 volts with no load (multimeters are also a good think to take along). The engine would barely turn over even with the jump pack hooked up! Figuring it wasn't something we could sort roadside, the "truck of shame" was called. Thankfully Hedley got home safe and it seems to be a faulty starter motor (parasitic drain we think) so an easy fix!2 points

After missing a run thanks to my en-route stop being out of V Power and having to turn back, with low fuel.... Tesco run done; "Finest" 99 Octane installed. Car's running rather nicely on it.2 points

You lucky people. Choose from the following. Tuesday 27th, run out to the Ponderosa. Thursday 29th, breakfast at Chocks Away. Both runs will include a few miles around the fabulous Welsh lanes, after the compulsory bacon breakfast, so you have a choice, or, if youโre super keen, why not both? Start venue for both is the Tudor Rose, on the A540, near Two Mills, meet at 9.30. Wrap up warm.1 point

I think that they should have updated the website with what is happening. The expansion in the UAE was already in place. The new factory in Bicester will take time to set up but more importantly will be the back up of parts and other services. Can you imagine the bad press if people ordered a kit and it came with shortages? From what I have read the new owner is no mug and is not going off half cocked. I suspect that the relaunch will coincide with the National Kit Car show which this year will be at Malvern. I like most want them to get it right from day one1 point

Where are you getting this info from? The expansion towards the UAE was something done around the time that Chesil was bought. Why would they set up a new factory building in Bicester if they were going to be moving the market to the UAE.1 point

Coming back on my problem, well the simple answer is it has gone. I am not quite sure which bit I did fixed it but thanks for all the advice I have learnt a lot many Thanks1 point

Itโs only been 6 months since Westfield went into administration (not 8 ) and the new owners only completed the purchase just over 4 months ago. These things unfortunately take time. Itโs not an easy job to pack up an entire factory, relocate it somewhere else and then start selling everything again as though nothings happened when you have little prior knowledge of the the previous administration or supply chain. I also donโt know the situation with regarding to tooling and moulds which may be held by past suppliers who are still owed money by the previous owners and administrators.1 point

Damn it! Had a lovely run as far as Congleton; stopped to fill up and damn it, still no V Power. Sorry, that's me out. I haven't got enough to get back from Leek, if they're out as well, and without knowing which other stations ahead of me have Super, I've had to turn round while I have enough to get home. Will get the Jerry can filled from Tesco in Crewe if there's still no VPower round here. See you at the weekend, hopefully.0 points

Looks like Westfield cars are done in the U.K. No parts shop for 8 months, expanding to UAE lol. I get business is all about profit, but it looks like the passion has gone...0 points
