  1. Blimey it was cold this morning! Supposedly it was 5 degrees but definitely not that warm in an aeroscreened car with no heater πŸ˜‚ Despite the cold, we had a great turnout with Tony riding shotgun with Hedley, Iain (with his son Oliver) in the Luego and John landing soon after. Martyn and Sue also came along in the tintop (and a lot warmer then we were!). Michael (288GTO replica) and Ian (250GTO replica) from the local Burton Car Club also joined us. Hopefully we'll see them again at the upcoming Carsington New Years Day meet. After a catch up followed by a hot brew and buttie, we were treated to some hilarious track action.... being cold and damp, a number of the cars seemed to spend a huge amount of time either sideways, spinning onto the grass or launching over the infield in the car of one Megane RS πŸ˜‚. The organisers had brooms out more than once! Great to see you all and thanks for coming along πŸ‘

  3. Message received and understood. Shame. Happy Christmas and see you next year!! Unlikely to get out again due to family visits etc. Busy time of year. More immediate issue is that Clare has catered for guests tomorrow and it turns out that there is not enough for me!!

  5. Oh no @AndrewBClarke I feel bad about doing this knowing you were on your last visit over here for a while and now you will go hungry too. I am sure Clare will find a way round it and get you fed. Take care and really look forward to seeing you when you get released again xxx

  6. Oops! Yeah, looked t forecast round here, for tomorrow; a good chance of rain seemed fairly set in all day. Not surprised. See you next week, hopefully.

  7. Well If I say so myself the 3d printed gauge works flawlessly!!!😊 I made the base plate slotted to give flexibility on where to fix the securing M6 bolt. I made the pointers nice and big to increase the accuracy and they are pegged so I could print them in white and fit to the baseplate. The socket pointer is slotted so it springs open slightly and provides a nice grip but still allows it to be aligned.

  8. I hope Ian has received payment by now. This isn’t really in the spirit of the club - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266020744173?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=uJNvOnulQm2&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=IdlSynLvTuK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY in my mind this should been sold back through the club while covering costs.

  9. A few photos from Snetterton at the weekend courtesy of Javelin Trackdays. It was a tad slippery! Will be fitting a rain light for the next trackday, other than that, she's about ready to go again!

  10. Hi all, Had to give up on my project and build thread a few years ago but as of today I'm back as a member and looking for a westy. I'm looking for a decent track or maybe race car and maybe the odd blast on the road. Ideally would like a project and pref something with V5 but will consider a track car or something without v5. Anything from rough needing lots of work to needing a little bit of a tidying up. Don't mind age or narrow or wide etc. However I am not interested in Β£20k + race winners, I want to build my own the way I want it! Thanks and look forward to hearing from you. Cheers Pete

  13. I’ve done it myself Phippsy, bought a bonnet on here, drove all the way to Bristol to collect it, and only realised once home, and test fitting, that it was for a narrow body car. It happens. I collected and re-advertised it on the same day, much to the amusement of friends!

  14. POSTPONED TO NEXT SUNDAY No matter which weather report I look at and how much I wish it was different the forecast is for showers/rain tomorrow, so I am really sorry folks but we will try again next Sunday. Thanks for your responses x

  15. It unfortunately wasn't as it was described or suggested by others, so I have no choice but to sell it. After taking a fair bit of time trying to identify it, I have absolutely re listed it for sale, but I'm also aware that it's the only one on the market. You can't hate on a guy who is selling something for what is likely achievable after taking the time to look into its value. This certainly wasn't the intent as I still need one for a blacktop conversion. I would however absolutely offer a significant amount off of what it's listed for for someone from the group.

  16. Just printed and used the 53Β° one (the first was an 80Β° one) and it too work perfectly! All for the princely sum of around Β£1 πŸ™‚ Happy days.

  17. I'll try to pop along and say hello but I'll be in the tin top as I have stripped the headlights off to make way for the new LED set (in Mickmade CF bowls 😎).
