  1. It's the first time I have ever had the car on the road at this time of year. Since it wasn't raining I decided to go for a run. Just a little 'nearly twilight' blast over the moors to Chatsworth, then Bakewell, on through Rowsley, up Rowsley Bar (which was very greasy on the hairpins) and back home. There was a fair amount of muck and running water on the roads, especially at Haddon Hall car park, where a motorbike leading a group had hit the mud on a corner and then slid under an oncoming van. Luckily he looked to be up and walking about but traffic was manic as a result.

  4. Hi All, I very recently joined the Club following the purchase of Westfield and was disappointed to discover there was no AO in my part of the country. As I was the Regional Representative for the UK Corvette Club for a few years I thought I would stick my head above the parapet and offer my services, now with my Westfield hat on. I have of course been in touch with Julie and she is happy for me to try and resurrect the Norfolk & Suffolk area. We both feel this is best delayed until next Spring but thought it would be a good idea to put this teaser post on the site in the hope that some interest can be raised for future activities. I realise there aren't a huge number of members in the area and, looking at the map, we are spread somewhat far and wide. Anyway, if you are interested in supporting me please post your name and location in order to help me find a possible meeting place to suit the majority. Best regards, Barry

  6. I've not used this company, but saw it posted in another kit car group. Given we often have people after spacers, it may be of use- https://www.superforma.co.uk/

  9. far from it. Both cars are road going trim with screen, carpets and comfy seats. The 1600 sigma in particular is what I’d consider as one of the best packages for a road or touring car. Just the right amount of power and a nice revvy engine for a spirited drive.

  10. I have the micro adjustable rears which replaced the standard Westfield wishbones. Can't offer any feedback regarding how they perform as my car is still part way through a rebuild but they fitted perfectly and look to be very very well made! Unfortunately I don't have any other pics to hand. They will make geometry adjustments a pleasure at a fraction of the time.

  12. Yep as Quinten said, it’s an odd side effect of copying a thread; it also resends all the original notifications if the entire thread is copied. Its not something that we’ll be doing a lot of. Today was the first time we’ve installed the “copy” plug in and tried it. The idea is that every few weeks or so, we’ll pick a really good thread, copy a bit of it into Parc Ferme, where everyone, regardless of membership status can see it, and then link that to our social media platforms, so that the whole world can see just how fantastic the content being created on here is, and why joining so that they can see the whole thread would be so great! Note, these are copies of the originals which will not move location, or change, and that the section is entirely read only. These will be taster samples only, and they will be deleted as fresh content comes in. I’d hoped it would be more seamless and invisible in the background, but it seems not! My Apologies.

  13. Yes, it seems a rather odd side-effect of copying a thread causes all the notifications to be resubmitted. Sorry for the confusion.

  14. Meet at Carsington Water, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 1ST, 10am. As you enter the site park in the large car park to your right, it is the quietest one. If you want to be guaranteed to be fed then please book with New Leaf Catering on 01629 540 363, or you can chance it, as normally at 10am it is quiet. The Burton Car Club will be joining us as usual with an array of replica Ferraris and classic cars. If it is raining then we will swap to the MX5, if it is dry we will be in the Westfield and will go for a run out afterwards. Come in whichever car you choose, but no tin tops on the run out please. Who is joining us?

  15. This is a "stalled" rebuild by my late brother-in-law from perhaps ten years ago. It is a rolling chassis with a "scrap" 1650 crossflow engine and a partly fitted set of body panels following a Weber blow-back fire (limited to side of engine bay). Westfield would only sell full set of panels at £700. Parked in Dewsbury under a waterproof cover which failed some time ago. Many used parts. Selling on behalf of his widow.

  16. No problem. Work from home so here most days. Needy Mother who will take up some time so best to drop me a note first. Out and about with the Westfield when I can so keep an eye on the out and about section - I go with the Peak District group when possible. @AndyMMis near you and has s good car for sale!!

  18. Not the best photos but may help! With Siltech super wide front and their micro adjustable rear difference in front and rear track is negligible, way better than my original SDV set up.

  19. I completely transformed my Sierra based SDV with the help of Dennis and Andy at Siltech, great people to work with and quality is second to none. Mods included super wide front end with ARB, micro adjustable rear, rose joints, billet front hubs, Siltech supplied Willlwood Superlight 4 pot callipers, Black Hawk ceramic pads, drilled discs, Protech shocks and a new quick rack from Burton Power, Golf rear callipers and then a switch to 13 inch CXRs. As all mods were effectively done as one package difficult to say which element added the greatest benefit, however total and overall impact was amazing with the car being finally set up by Northampton Motorsport. Spent allot of money but and in my opinion well worth it!

  21. So, this afternoon, cam cover rebuilt, plug and valve gaps checked while it was all off. Cover re-fitted, everything connected back up. Engine started and run up to temp, to test. Just needs a good clean now, but hopefully good to go. Ive managed to get hold of a second hand cam cover really cheaply, ironically, because it’s been very heavily paint stripped ready for re-finishing, but someone abandoned the project. Perfect for me, cause it’s going to be re-powder coated anyway! So I can finish modifying Stu’s old S2000 inlet manifold, (from the Gulf car), modify the new cover, and get them powder coated now, without needing to keep the car off the road to do it! Then fit them in, (probably January now), as the Christmas postal strikes have slowed the delivery of some of the bits I need - vac take offs for the manifold, etc.

  22. I also have the +35 front wishbones and they work very well. Everything fit as it should and the handling is much improved over the stock Westfield set up. The Micro adjust rears are on my list for upgrades this winter but I've not placed the order yet. dave

  23. I have the Siltech widetrack (not super wide) wishbones on the front and I am really pleased with them. Great quality items.

  25. Wise, but could if you can get enough perhaps have a Christmas/New Year get together?

  26. Fingers crossed. Hopefully finishing putting the car back together tomorrow. Just been too busy to spend much time on it, so abandoned the powder coating till after Christmas is out of the way.
