  3. Another vote for 'Wunderseal" and yes indeed, you do need to lay it on very thick then stipple it to create a really rough 3D textured surface for maximum protection. It over-paints pretty well too if need be. Expect to dispose of any brushes you use to apply it! It dries very quickly when applying it so be warned - you can't hang about. Rear arches in particular had lots of pretty bad star cracks after 20 years so when we had the car painted, I put a thick layer of Wunderseal under all the arches. No new damage seen in the last 10 years. I had a spare unopened tin after doing the Westy in 2011 and unsurprisingly it had gone off a bit over the 10 years in between. I rescued it with some cellulose thinners. Added a bit more every so often and eventually it got soaked up to the point I was able to start stirring it. Got it back to full usable state and applied it to all the arches of the Midlana.

  4. I use this product from CBS. However, unless you put very heavy coats on a stone will still cause a star crack https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/wunderseal-underbody-sealer

  6. I have use this brush on "Herculiner" truck bed liner on the underside of my fiberglass and carbon fenders (wings, mudguards) with great success. I've used 3 coats on my carbon front fenders and even with my super sticky slicks throwing up every stone on the planet I've not seen any cracks or damage from underneath. The rubberized nature of the stuff also reduces the noise from rocks being thrown up at the fenders. I nice side effect. dave ttps://www.acehardware.com/departments/paint-and-supplies/specialty-paints/rubberized-coatings/8105165?store=15460&gclid=Cj0KCQiA99ybBhD9ARIsALvZavVR2upRgbD8smM6CULn9SrArLd86iVpmcEpPW4wi0sOcvXbL-hBLSEaAmcHEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

  7. I used Dinitrol 449. I've written it up in my build diary here and on some subsequent pages. 3000 miles so far with no issues on the rear arches so not a lengthy test yet.

  9. @Mole I've got my eye on Saturday for a little potter around the local area whilst I build up my confidence in the car and gain some familiarity with it. 'tis truly an eye opener after the usual tin tops!
