  4. 😂 Lots of acetone and elbow grease. The top layer came off relatively quickly but the grey primer under that was a pig to shift... 🤣 I'm really pleased with how it looks now compared to how it was when I first picked it up! And now it's actually on the road it doesn't feel like the same car from 6 years ago! Although it is a bit of a downer when you run out of fuel when you're gauge is still showing a quarter of a tank, which totally happened today. Luckily I was only a couple of hundred metres from home after a 12 mile trip... 😶

  5. @Mole I've got my eye on Saturday for a little potter around the local area whilst I build up my confidence in the car and gain some familiarity with it. 'tis truly an eye opener after the usual tin tops!

  6. This was my old westfield....Started life as a standard 1.6 CVH on carbs, and over the years moved to a 2ltr cvh with a ported head and solid lifers, etc, and went to fuel injection on Motorbike TB's. It was a great car...I only sold it to fund a new build of a Sylva J15.

  7. Ian, if Turbospaniel is still interested and needs a trial I have two narrow SE cars, one if which is on the road. One has the squab seats the other has Intatrim buckets. I’m in North Devon, not far from Cornwall if that’s any good? I also have a complete original 1968 Cortina 1600 GT engine block and head (681F I think) if you need interest from French market. We’ve pm’d before. Gareth

  8. Just been informed a friend I visited yesterday has COVID. As a precaution I'm staying at home tomorrow. Hope you all enjoy your day.

  10. Looks like I'm down at the Classic Car show at the NEC tomorrow, so I won't be out on Sunday - the Westfield still has no cam cover on anyway, as I've had no time to get it sorted out.
