Not a Westfield friendly day, so credit to @Rob Hunter Derby & Notts AO and @AndrewBClarke for being either brave or daft enough to come. Good to put faces to names. Could be a good place for a multi area meeting where there's the possibility of 30 to 40 cars, if the weather is favourable.7 points

The two people that live the furthest away were the two that came in their Westfield's, I take my woolly hat off to you both, well done Andrew and Rob, pictured outside The Strines Inn. We came in our MX5 and others came in their dailies too. When I saw that Tricky Richard had posted I must admit that I licked my lips, thinking ooo he will come in something interesting. He did not disappoint in his growling BM that had been 'done' putting out over 400bhp. There is a first time for everything and this was our first Poppy Puppy on a meet, bought along by Des and Debs, cute eh. The first fire of the winter season as shown by our model, Hedley This was us having a jolly good chin wag, a combination of 4 areas with 4 AO's. Yorkshire, Derby & Notts, Cheshire & N Staffs and Peak District, well done to all. A car meet isn't proper unless cake is involved so off we went to Bird Cafe for some goodies. I had Pear and Raspberry Crumble with custard, which I was impressed with until Andrew's arrived, with loads more custard which looked thicker and creamier too. @Andy Westwood @aeg Andrew Parked at Bird Cafe, so called because you watch the birds on the feeders by the river from the window. It has been great to all meet up and have a good chat, the weather could have been better but I don't think it could have been any warmer in October. We all agreed that the venue was excellent so watch out for another 'Multi Area Meet at The Strines Inn' coming in the Spring.6 points

I’ll begin this update with an apology, I didn’t think I’d done as much over the last few months as I have and yet I’ve failed to keep this thread updated. I’d been waiting on some parts from the powdercoaters, which to be fair to them they turned around pretty quickly, it was more to do with the fact it took me a few weeks to find a day to drop them off. I then had a big order to send to the platers. but waited until I was absolutely sure it was everything. While this was going on I was doing a few jobs here and there to keep things moving forward. Then today I took a step back and realised the last time I updated this build thread the car didn’t have any suspension fitted. So here’s a catch up of where I’m up to…. Haha, it was a bit moist! Being on semi slicks, it was quite good fun carefully balancing enough speed to keep the weather out of the cockpit and not ending up in a ditch 😂 Amazingly I didn't hit any proper rain there or back 🤷♂️4 points

Great to catch up with people we haven’t seen for a while and some new faces today at strines inn, wish the weather had been better but got to take poppy the pup with us to meet everyone. Hope this can become a more regular meet and looking forward to the next one. Des, Deb and poppy4 points

Sorry. Details are not my forte! I assumed the meeting was tomorrow (Sunday). The penny has now dropped that it was today. Doh 😂3 points

The next part is the wing linkage. MSUK have been pretty clear that I won’t be allowed to run with an adjustable aerofoil and having it fitted to the roll hoop is also a big no from them but regardless of this the car had one fitted when on the stand at the 1969 Racing Car Show so I wanted to recreate the part for shows. The original parts have been lost in time other than the mounting bracket on the back stay but luckily the Pathe film shows it’s operation clearly enough for me to recreate the linkage and I have Costin’s geometry plots for the wing.3 points

Thank you @Rob Hunter Derby & Notts AO for posting my update this morning. My laptop has died so I have borrowed my neighbours spare one for now. We will see you at The Strine's, i.e no point going to McD's. @AndrewBClarkeis a hero and has come in his Westfield, so it will be an odd convoy from our house to the Strines. See you there!3 points

My car in the “Car” magazine Performance car of the year test in November 2000… it was pitched against the then new Lotus 340R and a Caterham R500. The ‘busa didn’t go through from the group. They thought it was a bit lairy for the road😆, but said the outcome may have been different if the first part of the test was on track…2 points

Started off a dry ride out for a pizza in the cars. Ended up terrential sideways rain!! The Soft bits roof was great, I didn’t get too wet at all. The wipers stopped, lucky I had some spare fuses and the Toyo 888r’s kept my concentration all the way home! The pizza was great and still I enjoyed a drive out1 point
