Meet at The Strines Inn, Mortimer Rd, Bradfield Dale, Sheffield, S6 6JE, 11am, Saturday 29th October. This is a social gathering and not our usual drive out, so you are welcome in any kind of car, but obviously we would love to see lot's of Westfield's. I will be doing a pick up at our usual meeting point of McDonald's, Matlock , leaving at 10am, for anyone who would like to come with us. All welcome, who is coming?2 points

For anyone coming with me from Yorkshire, I'll work out a route with meeting points, avoiding motorways, and approximate times for us to turn up together. I'm away at the moment, but home Wednesday, so I'll sort it then.2 points

BMW recently "launched" their decision to make heated seats in cars a subscription service. Possibly the most bonkers decision made in recent times... well apart from the recent mini budget, but lets not get in to that right now... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-621422082 points

Wow, very good, enjoyed that @Gary Taylor . You have views that we can only dream about down here in the Peak District, but look at that tarmac, lovely, smooth tarmac free of cyclist's, tractor's and caravan's. I am just an incy wincy bit jealous, thank you for showing us Glencoe 👍.1 point

Hi and welcome! Good luck with the search. You should fine something that tickles your fancy in the forum before long! There's a Devon and Somerset WhatsApp which I can add you to if that would be of interest? If so, then DM me with your number and I will do the honours. Thx Sean1 point

But you don't have to have your car serviced by a franchised dealer even when it is still in warranty. All that is needed for the warranty to remain valid is that you have to have the vehicle serviced at the recommended intervals as per manufacturer's instructions, and only use manufacturer's parts for service and repair. This became the Law quite a few years ago, under EU Law, and it still applies in this Country. I know it doesn't overcome the problem of silly manufacturers service schedules, nor the excessive price charged by manufacturers for some of their spares and branded consumables, but at least you have the choice of using a good independent competent garage rather than the grease monkeys (paid peanuts) by the rip-off franchise dealers.1 point

The way things are going and what the manufactures want, is for the public not to own stuff anymore, even though you bought it outright. Apple and Tesla are the main culprits. Lots of court cases about Right To Repair in the USA going on. I see a You Tube video about this very subject, very interesting.1 point
