Love it!! So, firstly, thank you to Rob for stepping in last week and for putting the photo shoot on at the wind farm, nice one! 13 cars met at McDonald's in the glorious sunshine After a brew we set off on our run, heading through Bakewell and towards Buxton, before turning across the hills and along some very empty roads to arrive at The Carriages in Newhaven, a railway themed restaurant. Thank you to Becky for taking the photo's on the move. At The Carriages Inside the restaurant Much as a Sunday dinner is one of my fave meals, I could not resist this Spanish Haddock. Haddock with chilli on a tomato stew with butter beans, chorizo, served with patatas bravas, yummy. Yummy but it needed finishing off with cake and Hulme End Tea Junction was only a 10 minute drive away, so off we went, cake hunting with the Andy's. Thanks everyone for coming along, a classic mix of great driving roads and spot on food, but it can only be so much fun if you turn up too xxx In 2 weeks, on Saturday the 29th, we will be meeting other areas at The Strines, Bradfield Dale, Sheffield, S6 6JE, 11 am. Come and join us, preferably in a Westfield but you can also see us there in any car ALL WELCOME. Let's finish the summer season off in style! Here are some more of those fab photo's from Becky.10 points

What an amazing turnout for a chilly October morning! At 845 I was a little lonely.... By 9am we had a "rabble"! By 10am we had a whole crowd! 😂 A big thanks to @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative and Glen for organising a great day, and thanks to everyone for making the 3 newbies (Rachael, Iain and Ollie) feel very welcome 👍8 points

@Andy Westwood cake report. Photo shows some of the cake. Julie’s were both pieces numbered 3 on the photo below (where does she put it??). Cake numbered 2 is Glenn’s banana cake which was huge. Cake numbered 1 is controversial. It is somewhat smaller than the slices of the same cake issued to others. I got constant moans from Mad Dog Pete all the way home (nearly 2 hours apart from the time he was asleep) complaining that his bit was the smallest. I must admit that the slice given to @aegwas soooo big that it was halved and shared (you will have to Google what that means). Mine was so large that it didn’t fit into the camera frame size. You will just have to accept that it was much larger than any cake you have seen 😁😁 or eaten. and mine -8 points

First 300km on road discovering quite good condition local tamrac Abandoned trackdayas with my track westfield this season to finish building and make road legal this car before winter, to be able to drive with Wife and Sons . Need to do more mileage to be sure of the car . But so far ... seems quite reliable (for a kitcar of course )4 points

Sounds more expensive than repairing/replacing my exhaust! Enjoy 😊3 points

@Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO - It’s all part of getting to the bottom of my overheating and spitting too much oil out of the cam cover vent. I was going to do compression tests, but when I took the plug covers off, there was oil in 2 out of four of the plug wells. I thought it would be a failed rubber seal in the cam cover, but when I investigated there was heat damage to the plastic cover itself at 2 of the bolt hole locations. Oil was clearly crossing from the cam chest. Ideally I’d like to replace the cover with another OEM one (albeit plastic) but they are like hen’s teeth! Cheers, D😃2 points
