  4. Yep, that’s a Euro spec Sport Turbo, correctly also known especially in Europe as the FW300. So it is a completely different car to an SEiW, though there are quite a few common (minor) parts. The tub/rear panel, scuttle and boot lid are unique Sport Turbo (ST) items. The bonnet/nose I think might be common with the SEiW FW version. The chassis is unique to the ST, the dashboard mouldings etc along with some transmission tunnel mouldings/trim were unique ST parts. The engine and management are unique To the ST. The windscreen and any side screens were originally unique to the ST, being taller and slightly more raked back, but they became quite often used in builds of regular SEiWs. The feast of the weather gear, (with the exception of half hoods) were unique to the ST. The (cosmetic) roll bar again, originally unique to the ST, as it’s height increased to go with the windscreen, was eventually sold with all Westfield models as an option. Brakes, uprights, wishbones, anti roll bars, were I believe all standard Westfield parts, too, as was the diff and gearbox, along with the prop. Lights and seats are again, common items across the range. Fuel tank and pump, I’m not sure, I’d be guessing if I said I thought they might be common to the FW SEiW. The beauty of the Euro FW300/Sport Turbo model is it was homologated as a low volume production car. (It’s never been possible for the public to buy it as a kit). So it’s much more accessible for European buyers.

  6. Congratulations Matt I was spectating at Castle Combe on Saturday and I didn't realise that you were a member or I would have come over and said hello. I was in the pits talking to Terry Holmes (who you pipped at the post) as he was wiping the oil off his rear wing from his last run when you came over to console him, I was wearing my WSCC beanie). As you are probably aware he blew a seal on his final run right in front of me at Quarry (see pics below) but he didn't let it slow him down and finished his run. I have also attached some shots of you during your successful runs which are fairly sharp but you were a bit too fast for my camera/skill. Terry Holmes at Quarry on final run The Champion in action

  7. Hi! Future Westfield owner from Holland here, Seven type cars have always been my dream cars. A recent death in the family has shown me that life is not a rehearsal, so a Westfield it is! Choice is not big in NL (only about 9 for sale atm!). Still in the information sponge phase, so learning about the cars, versions etc.

  8. This is the car: It's being sold as a FW300, while looking for FW300 on the 'net throws up mostly French sites, where they mention ST1-2-3versions, main difference being the change to Mazda boxes.

  14. As, thanks to using Aerocatches when I did the FW rear conversion, my hood won't fit in the designed in niche in the bootbox, I'd always planned to get one of the SBfS hood bags to put it in. Knowing what the lead times on the stuff can be like, (and as they're an item that never shows on the website as in stock, this time included), I've always tended to only think about when getting ready for a trip and realising the car will be full of bags with no room for the hood, by which point it's too late to get one, or so I'd thought... Finally got myself organised enough to order one this week, in the "down season" when a long lead time wouldn't matter. Ordered it Thursday evening, before heading off to the Cheshire Meet. Sure enough, out of stock on the web site. And promptly forgot about it. This morning, the Postman just handed me a parcel while I was pottering round in the garage and garden, and I wondered what on earth it could be. Never even thought about the bag. But sure enough that's what it was! Not just here in record time, but as is usual with their gear, the attention to detail and quality is just superb - it attaches to the roll bar with short straps fastened by press studs, for example. The strap with the inner stud base on that goes against the roll bar, have little extra flaps of vinyl sewn in, so that it will stop the metal stud marking the powder-coat on the roll bar! Really pleased, and the hood fits easily without needing to be rolled up stupidly tightly. Once more, a SBfS product I can't recommend highly enough, if of course, you need external storage for a hood.
