A decidedly chilly but beautiful day for a drive out this morning! A few of us met up early at the services for a refuel as normal, only to be joined by a Mclaren, Ferrari and a load of TVR's who were heading to various events. After a chat with a young man called Oliver who is currently building a Fury and happens to work for Gardiner Douglas, we headed up to Monyash to meet Lee via some amazingly quiet B Roads. We all warmed up with a brew and a butty while having a chuckle about the fun and sprited drive up, these cars are just made for these kind of roads! After breakfast, we had planned to head for the Bentley Brook Inn for lunch, but enroute we found the B5056 closed for some reason.... I then hatched a plan for a little photo opportunity instead ๐ I'd found a particular road on a solo run some months ago and given the roads were so quiet, I thought I'd take a chance that a little location was available for us to park... amazingly it was! What a brilliant day filled with fun roads, amazing cars, stunning scenery and all shared with a great bunch of mates ๐ See you all on the next one! Rob7 points

Yes it was Middleton Top at the Carsington Windfarm, fab place for some photos ๐ Sadly I couldnt stay out all day, so no cakes were harmed in the making of this particular Peaks run.... we did manage to christen the cars with plenty of cow muck though ๐1 point

It looks like you had a great day out, although I am very concerned about the lack of cake, I thought that I had trained you better than that ๐ The roads sounded good though and I think you have been up to Middleton Top for the photo's? What lovely weather! Don't forget to submit your best photo's for the 2023 calendar!1 point

Nope, just an 86-88mm one from my XE days. (Which I have to say gave amazingly good results for something so simple! (But then I guess, my basic bores were in pretty good condition)1 point

Thank You all! oh yes, without this Forum dont know if I would be brave enough to take this challenge ! and after first test, I am continuing to use the knowledge and experience of Members there! as there are showing some issues that needs the road trips to show, so this autumn going to be "ride and watch" as mechanics use to say1 point

A cracking day out , very autumnal and fresh this morning as I headed to Huntly for fuel and avoid the closed road Iโd normally use then it was off to Aboyne on lovely roads only seeing a couple of cars and a tank !!! On the way. At Aboyne the outer layer was cast off and William arrived, after a wee blether it was time to crack on over the old military road to cairn o mount and down to Clatterin Brig cafe for lunch. Then back up cairn o mount to the viewpoint for some pictures before a cracking run back to Huntly where we came on a looong convoy of camper vans โฆ.. so attack mode was engaged and some fun was had on a superb stretch of twisty tarmac lol. At huntly we separated for home, a glorious day out.1 point

3 cars have been wounded, sympathy required. 1 . Rocketeer gone into body shop for cill repair. 2. went to Essex club meet this morning and on the way home Westfield got rammed by a Corsa up the chuff so fuel tank holed and rear panel damaged with multiple splits and scratches. 3. Shortly afterwards Wife came home in the daily Audi and reversed into neighbours car, resulting in minor dents and scratches to both cars. So went to the pub for a couple of beers and now going to bed before any other misfortunes happen.0 points
