Need to share my happiness and joy ! It was going to be 1-2 months of work at winter evenings etc, ended almost a year ! but here it is, finally _full road legal_, registered as a Westfield, took some road tests toady, quite strange siting so low in traffic on crossroad lights etc have to get used to. But what a joy an relief that I have managed to make from this: I have had more than one day of doubts and the desire to abandon this project must admit that. Pain in different bones and joints , dirty hands, a lot of beer figuring out how to make next step etc ... Lot of helf from this Community and archives of this Forum, from Locostbuilders . But, here is how it looks finally (almost, nosecone will be black, or red, did not decided yet, and some brake tuning and aligment etc, maybe more comfortable seats, but this all later, now we have few days of nice weather), and with proper sticker on the back , hope she is worthy having that WSCC sticker7 points

Steve and I met up early doors in Swadlincote to convoy down the brilliant B Roads we have locally to meet the rest of the gang. It was quite a busy meet so no formation parking today š Tony had also come along in his daily and we were then joined by @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO and Sue for breakfast along with Michael (a mutual friend who runs Burton Car Club and owns a stunning 288GTO replica). Suitably refuelled we headed for the paddock to have a look at the exotic sprint and hillclimb machinery. As always at the Curburgring, the car park is as interesting as the paddock.... Sadly the track will soon be tucked up for the winter so it will probably be Spring 2023 before we are back. Great to see you all today, hope you got home safely š5 points

Hi all, In the absence of our illustrious squadron leader @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative we are doing a sneaky Peaky run out. I have to be back home early afternoon so it won't be such a long magical mystery tour as Julie does, but hopefully will scratch the Westfield itch š We will meet at 10am at the Old Smithy Tearooms in Monyash (DE45 1JH). If you can't park at the front, there's normally room in the Bulls Head car park next door. Once we've had breakfast @Lee Bennett and I will do a little B road blast, ending up at the Bentley Brook Inn (DE6 1LF) about 12-1230 ish. For those coming from the south, we will do the normal pre meet at the A38/A50 services (DE65 6DX) at about 845am for a 9am departure. Hopefully see some of you in the morning š3 points

Thank You all! oh yes, without this Forum dont know if I would be brave enough to take this challenge ! and after first test, I am continuing to use the knowledge and experience of Members there! as there are showing some issues that needs the road trips to show, so this autumn going to be "ride and watch" as mechanics use to say2 points

I'm afraid not, sorry. I have no idea where I got that name from, none whatsoever. In fact I cannot even remember any of my posts in this thread. Hardly surprising I suppose, it is fifteen years old.2 points

As, thanks to using Aerocatches when I did the FW rear conversion, my hood won't fit in the designed in niche in the bootbox, I'd always planned to get one of the SBfS hood bags to put it in. Knowing what the lead times on the stuff can be like, (and as they're an item that never shows on the website as in stock, this time included), I've always tended to only think about when getting ready for a trip and realising the car will be full of bags with no room for the hood, by which point it's too late to get one, or so I'd thought... Finally got myself organised enough to order one this week, in the "down season" when a long lead time wouldn't matter. Ordered it Thursday evening, before heading off to the Cheshire Meet. Sure enough, out of stock on the web site. And promptly forgot about it. This morning, the Postman just handed me a parcel while I was pottering round in the garage and garden, and I wondered what on earth it could be. Never even thought about the bag. But sure enough that's what it was! Not just here in record time, but as is usual with their gear, the attention to detail and quality is just superb - it attaches to the roll bar with short straps fastened by press studs, for example. The strap with the inner stud base on that goes against the roll bar, have little extra flaps of vinyl sewn in, so that it will stop the metal stud marking the powder-coat on the roll bar! Really pleased, and the hood fits easily without needing to be rolled up stupidly tightly. Once more, a SBfS product I can't recommend highly enough, if of course, you need external storage for a hood.2 points

Used to go a lot, you should see my collection of the Curby mugs they sell at the Breakfast meet! Not been since pre-lockdown, though, I must confess. Must go again, next year, when they re-start.1 point
