  1. You weren't the only ones out last night. It was moderately mild, a bit blowy, but the tarmac was dry and plenty of moonlight! With @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman @Westie66@Greenstreak-Andy D

  2. Need to share my happiness and joy ! It was going to be 1-2 months of work at winter evenings etc, ended almost a year ! but here it is, finally _full road legal_, registered as a Westfield, took some road tests toady, quite strange siting so low in traffic on crossroad lights etc have to get used to. But what a joy an relief that I have managed to make from this: I have had more than one day of doubts and the desire to abandon this project must admit that. Pain in different bones and joints , dirty hands, a lot of beer figuring out how to make next step etc ... Lot of helf from this Community and archives of this Forum, from Locostbuilders . But, here is how it looks finally (almost, nosecone will be black, or red, did not decided yet, and some brake tuning and aligment etc, maybe more comfortable seats, but this all later, now we have few days of nice weather), and with proper sticker on the back , hope she is worthy having that WSCC sticker

  3. It's that time if year when nights are drawing in and that terrible disease called SORNititus is starting to decimate the numbers of Westfields in the wild..... Thankfully these two are seemingly immune and even ventured out after dark ๐Ÿ˜‚ With @Steve Bosworth

  5. Fewer people out tonight due to work or illness (get well soon!) but still a fun meet up. @Steve Bosworthand I braved the darkness in the Westfields.... my comedy light output compared to Steve's searchlights reminded me I need to fit my new LED Dominators ๐Ÿ˜‚ We were met by @Howard and his wife Emma, @Alex Gaskin, @Delboy, @HB46443, @Garry Bunn and @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO. I always love the stories of the speed series and track action we get at these meets, makes the 2 or 3 hours just fly by! Thanks for coming along everyone ๐Ÿ‘ A pair of nocturnal Westies in the wild See you all at the next one ๐Ÿ‘

  6. Ok Folks Just a little update, all those that have not received there WSCC magazine, you were all on the mailing list, the problem appears to be with Royal Mail, from previous experience we won't get anywhere complaining to them, I'll be sending out replacements asap..... Thanks Mark

  7. Hi. This is for sale as I needed a new cat silencer driver side but have decided that I prefer brushed finish instead. This was made to fit the westfield and was made by jp exhausts Congleton who I believe supplied westfield originally. I have opted to stay with a brushed wunoff. This was never fitted and I paid ยฃ650 for it. Prefer it to be collected. Cheers martin

  8. Well, the weather is looking promising this weekend so some of us are going to the final Curborough Breakfast Meet (Netherstowe Lane, WS13 8EJ) of the year on Saturday morning. Usual free entry, the cafe will be open and the HSA are doing a Sprint so hopefully track action will be good and the paddock will be full of interesting motors. We are getting there about 930 and normally stay for a couple of hours, feel free to come along if you can ๐Ÿ‘

  13. As much detail about the car as possible would help as early and later looms are quite different, the type of loom supplied was also influenced for a while by engine choice. Compared to a modern cars loom though, the Westfield looms are way simpler! Though the later/current modular looms are a little more complex than the early, engine specific looms. Fortunately, there are good wiring diagrams for much of the stuff used since the 2000's or so, plus the factory has pretty much always used standard Lucas wiring colour coding, (helps identify the wires function), so it would be possible to strip the loom tape off, and use the burnt section as a template to replace the wires?

  20. As an eternal optimist I am not cancelling this event but, this afternoon I have tested positive for Coronavirus, I will keep you updated and if I test negative by the weekend then it is ON. I came back from a cycle ride yesterday and did not feel my usual self, I had a tickle at the back of my throat, overnight I have had a sinus pain/headache/bone ache. I took 2 paracetemols this morning and felt ok, ok enough to get back on my cycle today, this afternoon I was still not 100% PLUS I am supposed to take my mum to hospital for an operation at 7.30 am tomorrow, so I tested just to make sure, good job I did! Glen is testing negative at the moment.
