Tony, Gary, Glynn, Ash (in his van as he working locally), Nigel (of course in the Aston) and myself braved the autumnal temperatures for a trip to the Curburgring. Glynn, Tony and I were sensible and wrapped up well. Gary quickly regretted wearing shorts in his MEV 😂 I'd got there early and had been watching the Aston Martins doing their practice laps when this beast took to the track! Amazingly, I happened to be stood next to one of the guys that built the car! Apparently the car was registered in 1948 and started life as a hillclimb car through the 1950's before being put in someones garage, only seeing the light of day now and again for a trip to the local pub.... they recently bought the car in a sorry state and have adapted it to circuit racing and sprints. The old 6.25 litre V8 certainly makes all the right noises! 😍 Once everyone arrived we had our traditional cholesterol breakfast (Glynn with a full English on a triple decker sandwich!) and had a wander round the paddock... all served up with loads of friendly banter! As always at Curborough, there were some lovely cars either on track or in the car park5 points

Breakfast meeting/show went well yesterday. Starting off with Breakfast at the Redbeck cafe, which is an old transport cafe complete with formica topped tables and a decent full English. 6 of us went to the show at Ackworth, the first one they've held. We parked up on the cricket field just in front of the fun fair. We made quite an entrance with the 6 cars, and had the biggest one make club there.4 points

An eventful day saw us leave Dufftown in heavy rain but it faired as we got to aviemore where we met up with the lads from Inverness then it was off along the old A9 to Newtonmore , cross country to Laggan , Spean bridge and Fort William to meet up with those from down south. Filled up with fuel and joined everyone at McD’s for a coffee. Unfortunately here we learnt one lad had a wee mishap but was safe and awaiting recovery ( home safely ) then one car wouldn’t start , a decision was made a couple of us would stay and get him sorted out, the rest to head up to Mallaig where Gordon was waiting, unfortunately the non starting was something more sinister and recovery was arranged. Meanwhile the troops had arrived at mallaig got pictures and enjoyed their fish n chips . Eventually the recovery arrived and said he was going to Inverness and another would finish to home……. 3 hrs in Inverness and no truck … I headed home to get the car and trailer, a couple with an empty trailer got it closer so after rearranging plans we got sorted and dropped off at midnight and I got back home just after 1am Here’s a few pics from today and some that were taken by others. Thank you all for coming and it was great to see a good mix of cars, hope the 2 cars are back on the road soon. Cheers Gary4 points

Westfield SEIGHT V8 3.5Ltr 2005. I bought this in April after selling my Exocet. I sold the Exo to make way for a new project (as I only have a small single garage) but then this popped up and I couldn’t resist, I have always wanted a SEiGHT. The day after buying it we took it on a 260-mile round trip from the south coast to Santa Pod and it drove flawlessly. Well, we have had a cracking summer in it and it is a thoroughly fantastic car, but I am really missing the track days and so am selling so I can make room for an Aerorace or similar. 12700 miles verified by MOT history (I put about 1500 of those on, this summer), 4 owners. I am not sure when in its history, but it’s clearly been through the hands of the guys at Toybox at some point. I am being lazy here and re-using the ad (below) from which I bought it, and added a photo that I took at Brands on Saturday. It’s in East Sussex. I don’t have to sell and so won’t be taking any offers. I’m listing on here in the hope that members will recognise it as a great, solid, honest car, and therefore lead to a straightforward sale. I have switched the number plate to the ‘legal’ one (WO05 HVB) but the ‘WOOSH V8’ plates are included. I'm no engineer/mechanic but am happy to take any and all questions, provide extra photos or videos, arrange viewings, etc. Looks stunning, sounds amazing. Last MOT (April) – no advisories, well maintained, comprehensive history file that includes Westfield brochures, sales invoices, approval docs & construction manuals Runs on Edelebrock carbs, inlet manifold and filter. In my ownership I had a new distributor, high energy Lucas coil and remote module kit fitted. Together with a specialist tuning, the car has been 100% reliable. Adjustable GAZ coilover shocks are fitted enabling a set-up to suit requirements. Aesthetic upgrades include carbon effect stripes, stone guards, rear lamp sets and cycle wings. Improvements include a full set of Team Dynamics Motorsport wheels, all are in unmarked, excellent condition. Inside are yellow piped sports adjustable seats, Willans four point belts and a full set of original VDO gauges that all work as they should. Comprehensive all-weather gear includes wind deflectors, side screens, hood and tonneau. Also included is an indoor fitted cover. All this, including the private plate £15,5001 point

That explains why it looks wrong I am not sure I like the concept front as much as the final version though...1 point

I spent ages looking at it, thinking it was a version of the Elite! It is actually an Elan +2.... apparently the original design concept looked like this but Chapman didn't like it and had it redesigned. Someone then spent a lot of time and money recreating the concept front end for this car1 point

I'd hazard a guess at some sort of Elan but it doesn't look quite right. Possibly because its a +2, but even so the front looks wrong.1 point

As far as I know, the very earliest copies landed around the weekend of the tenth, with the bulk starting to land this week. (I got mine mid week too). Please, give it at least another another week before letting Mark @Mark Redpath - WSCC Membership Secretary know. We know the Royal Mail side of the distribution system can take a few weeks to clear them through, (as well, annoyingly, as loosing some). They do go through the system in batches though from what I can see. So everyone receiving them within a couple of days even, is just not going to happen, it’s the nature of the system. Though post Covid world, issues do increasingly seem to be pushing that out to a fortnight, frustratingly.1 point
